Alex Padilla says CHALE! to run for mayor in 2013

State Senator and former Los Angeles City Council President Alex Padilla won't be returning to office space at 200 N. Spring Street anytime soon.

Padilla announced today that he will remain focus on his current gig in Sacramento (with his buddy Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes) and not seek to replace Mayor Tony Villar

This leaves City Controller Wendy Greuel as the only "Valleycentric" candidate in the 2013 mayoral field.

Your thoughts..............

That is a relief, I tried to think of something good that Alex did while on the city council, I came up blank. Then I checked out the state senate and all he has done constructive was to collect a paycheck. Such an asset he is to the community.

I'm a Latino and I want anyone but a Latino as Mayor. I think the Failure of a Mayor Villar has proven how badly they can ruin an entire city. Drive around the areas of Reyes, Alarcon, Cardenas and Huizar and those communities have deteroriated so badly since they've been in office. No City Hall clowns either. Greuel,. Garcetti and Jan Perry have all proven to be so unethical no way should they be elected to higher office.
