Former Sister City blogger Joseph Mailander is feeling some heat from the LA Weekly. Mailander, who frequently skewers Republicans and conservatives, raises the ire of the Weekly with a post making the case that Hispanic Democrats dominate the state's legislative redistricting commission. Ironically, a commenter accuses Mailander of playing both sides of the political fence whose "right wing repugnant self" has been more evident in Joseph's blog posts of late. I really don't know what to think about that!
Bad idea: the LA City Council wants the LA Dodgers to be publicly owned.
Conan O'Brien wants to rename a section of a street in Van Nuys after himself. O'Brien even wants to pay for the cleanup. That sounds like a better deal than naming a school after Ramon Cortines.

If Molina is going to work for Berghoff, that will make for an interesting little pas de deux.
He will be able to personally thank the jerk who fed all this stuff to the media and the Mayor's office and caused him to lose his job.

So, if it's a city phone, paid for by tax dollars, I would think his text messages fall under the CPRA.
RE: LAX managerial incident. This City is getting more and more like the private sector. Cronyism and favoritism will soon reign unhindered. This is what happens when you circumvent promotion based on the merit system, and hire based only on loyalty and obedience over qualifications and education. This is what privatization of City services will look like in 3 more years. Get ready.

I thought that Mailander was pro "La Raza Democrat" base upon this past exchange with the "Westside White Guy"?

Here's something you can take to the bank:
Molina's position will be filled by someone on the Mayor's staff as a reward for their loyal service.
There will be no advertising the position. No interviews. No attempt to find the best person for the job.
The position was originally created for this reason, and we will see it happen again as the Mayor nears the end of his term and he tries to help his friends.
There's nothing funnier than a bunch of white guys calling each other racists. It just never gets old, does it? LOL<

If the City Council wants an Act of Congress to enable the public to own the Dodgers, that says a lot about how the Council feels about the McCourts.

The jerk who fed all the stuff to the media didn't cause Molina to lose his job. Molina did it all on his own.
Trust me, this is worse that his nephew sending him a photo. The City Attorney is OK with that kind of incidental use of city phones. That includes calling your wife on a cell phone or land line to tell her you're going to be late. Everyone does that in City Hall.
Molina's sins were far worse. If the proof was gathered through a PRA request then the information is available to anyone ... you, me, KCAL.

Fernando Guerra? Red Spot you should look into how much money this self proclaimed "export" on Latino politics got from Alatorre and his buddies. Wasn't Fernando the guy that was supposed to write Alatorre's book?
It's so intriguing to me how Red Spot seemly has zero capacity for shame. He's been absolutely roasted by Joseph on several occasions; verbal lashings so brutal that I winced, shook my head and thanked God I wasn't on the receiving end. And yet he comes back for more, again and again. Why?

He was setting up sex with men in his texts.
He offered to pay for sex with some of them.
He offered to pay to fly them out to meet him while he travelled on LAWA business.
He told men to meet him in his hotel room on the same floor as Lindsey.
He sexually harassed a male subordinate with an email about that subordinate's "tight ass".
This is not about his personal life.
This is about misuse of resources and abuse of power and position.

The fact that Mailander would even give you the time of day suggests to many you ares also pushing his buttons and are important otherwise why would he bother?
Most people at LAWA know that Molina was trolling 4 man love b/c copies of some of the sexts have been making their way around 4 months now. Worst kept secret ever. Even janitors know that Molina liked baseball but only played catcher. Lindsey will eventually have 2 give the sexts 2 Goldstein and Weikel eventually and then you will get to C what we have all been reading 4 a while now no matter how many fits she throws and lies she tells to try to stop it. She lost her lap dog and she no be happy.
If Molina's sexts were nothing serious why did he resign and why won't Lindsay hand over the sext messages to the press?
The only jerk here is Molina for failing his boss and sexually harassing subordinates.
How can Lindsay say that she didn't read the sexts but she knows that nothing illegal was in them?
How can Lindsay say case closed and not hand over the sexts when no one knows whether or not Molina solicited male prostitution or paid for male prostitutes to travel to meet up with him on business trips, or exchanged sexts with someone doing business with LAWA?
Look at the guy I doubt that anyone would have had sex with him without being paid a few benjis for it.
