Tryptothan on the Stoop

Looks like Austin Beutner is thinking of becoming the Meg Whitman of Los Angeles and perhaps using his personal largesse to run for Mayor.  Will Mike Trujillo run the campaign?

"The Situation" attended the American Music Awards at the Nokia last weekend.  At first some folks had thought it was a recently elected State Assemblyman.

Getting harder to figure out what is illegal and where.  Plastic bags are on the way out but pot may be on the way back in the City of Los Angeles.  But not in Orange County and parts of LA County.

The City of LA wants folks to shop at car dealerships and malls within city limits.  However the sales tax is too damn high! On big ticket items you could save hundreds or thousands of dollars say buying those items in Simi Valley (Ventura County) for example where sales tax is a penny and half per dollar less than LA County. That's money folks could put towards savings or other purposes, fully jumpstarting the economy than handing it over to Tony Villar.

At MayorSam we're looking to meet and profile up and coming leaders in Los Angeles.  If you'd like to suggest someone you can email us at mayorsam@mayorsam.org or use this handy online form.

Happy Thanksgiving Higby, and the motley crue at MS.

The wave of relief and thanks at the DA's Office that Carmen the Clown isn't going to be their next boss may be as ill founded as Cooley's victory speech.

A close read of Cooley's concession statement could be taken as an early indication that he's hanging up the handcuffs in 2012.

Cooley says “I will complete my third term and finish my career as a professional prosecutor in the office where it began over 37 years ago."

Does that mean that Carmen the Clown's going to run for the open DA seat in 2012 to escape the backlash from the City residents he's dumped on?

Does this mean Paul Krekorian will run for City Attorney virtually unopposed?

Answers please!

Those of us in Venice love Carmen Trutanich. He has kept to his word and erradicated the RV dumping. He's put the word on the street that if you pollute the streets, he will prosecute you.

As far as we're concerned, he could run for Mayor and we would support him.

Anyone who says otherwise, is ill-informed and has another ax to grind.

9:19am obviously doesn't live in Venice. Probably one of Noooch's trolls.

No to Beutner for Mayor you'd have to be brain dead to support him. He would sell every bet of real estate to all willing developers all to get more money from taxes that would further cut all your services water, gas, electric, waste, police, hospitals, etc.
