It's ALL on the dems now.
There's no way they can turn the ship around on their next watch. They'll either sink it, or run it aground.
Either way, it'll be a full-on backlash in 2-4 years, one that'll make Grey Davis' washing out look like a kid's birthday party.
Good news for L.A. Now Steve Cooley (as a lame duck) can focus on finally filing charges against Antonio Villaradouchebag, and Eric Garshady, and not have to worry about his political future.
Perhaps he'll run for another term as D.A. and Carmen runs for Mayor which will clean up this city for good.
Carmen will not be elected dog catcher.

We hope he runs for Mayor! He's far better than any of those other losers Wendy, Garcetti or Padilla, who ran this city into the ground.
Some pompous Democrats think this shows California leading the nation. The reality is that California is 2 to 4 years behind.
Hmmmm, let's see. So when California goes bankrupt, and can't kill its killers, the Dems will be responsible while the rest of the country recovers as the end of Obama's term nears.

Being Liberal means never having to say you're sorry or were wrong. All of you who think this will bring about reform and a moment of clarity to the left are as delusional as they are. In the end as the ship of state settles in the mud at the bottom of the sea, those who were at the helm will,with passion and conviction blame Bush, Prop 13 and the New Leadership in the House.

This marks the final and complete failure of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County. While many of the folks who have been at the seat of leadership are good intentioned individuals who have dedicated many years to service, they, inspite of their nature are not qualified to lead the County Party. If nothing changes, nothing will change. You can blame the numbers and or anyother excuse you believe will be accepted, but in the end, you could not get more than 8,000 Republicans to turn out in a Special Election in the 43rd.
Cooley needs to get off his f****n ass and criminally prosecute public corruption. His "Public Integrity Unit" has been a dismal failure. As for the Bell scandal, that was only prosecuted when the LA Times put some light on it. Otherwise, Cooley would have left it ooze like an open sore.
I wonder how long it will take before the GOP throws Cooley under the bus for losing this election?
They threw Meg under the bus almost immediately (even Phil the Quitter is bashing Meg today on his blog).
This is the part where all the Republican cry-babies throw themselves under the bus. A lot of good that Sara Paylin endorsement did for Curly Fiorina or the 2 billion Mug Whitman spent.
Californians are a lot smarter than the rest of the country. They have a dozen of the best universities in the country. They have Silicon Valley and Hollywood. Laugh all you want, but what other state put out a product like Avitar or the Apple i-phone?
Californians saw right through all these Republican phonies.

Steve Cooley was hollering how he was the gold standard. Looks like he's only the silver standard. Has anyone ever been more arrogant and a loser? Had he known it would have been so close, maybe he would have shown up for the campaign. A historic blow.
California so kicks ass! The other states are playing catch up again!
These guys are such egomaniacs. Oh well, we are stuck with Carmen. He'll spend all his time going after medical marijuana. Cooley will do nothing because we have to watch him go through depression for 6 months. Then, he might put his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing and then follow. I am glad Kamala won, though.
Well, we're stuck with the current administration so let's enjoy other stuff.
It's put up or shut up time for the Democrats. They are holding both ends of a very hot potato. If CA slides further, they will feel the wrath of the voters in two years.
It is obvious the voters will not support tax hikes, that means Brown and company will have to slash social programs to almost nothing if they want the state to ride out the recession. I don't think they have the will.
Electing Kamala Harris to be AG would be like making Michael Vick head dog catcher. Way to go California! I wonder which gangs were hosting Harris victory parties?
