Mid-Day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Wednesday

"Los Angeles Wave Newspaper's Betty Pleasant is mad at Zev Yaroslavsky's Plastic Bag Ban"
Good pre-Thanksgivings morning to all in the political bloggersphere.
As many of you look forward to the four-day weekend, at least in the public sector, most of us will make our way into the supermarket of choice to load a select bird into the shopping cart. What bag you choose to carry to your vehicle is a choice that Angelinos in Unincorporated Los Angeles County, will have less of, thanks to Nannycrat, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Member Zev Yaroslavsky and guess who is not happy? "BETTY"
This from the author of the Los Angeles Wave Newspaper's "Soulvine Column" Betty Pleasant.
AND FINALLY — You see where the county Board of Supervisors banned the distribution of single use plastic bags by supermarkets this week? That sucks like you wouldn’t believe. Even though the county’s action affects only unincorporated areas, you can bet the Los Angeles City Council will, like lemmings, follow the county off the cliff and enact a city ordinance just like it. Those plastic bags are necessary. I need them. Not only do I need them, but so do pet owners all over the county. We use them for the disposal of pet waste. I have two cats and I use them to dispose of cat poop and the contents of dirty litter boxes! And I know dog owners use them for the same purposes. What are we going to do without a constant supply of those plastic grocery bags? These people make me sick!
Common sense in its simple brilliance.
OTHER NEWS:
** "Gangacrat Zev" got voted down 4-1 as the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors votes to shut down Medical Marijuana outlets in Unincorporated LA County locations. The "Orange Curtain" also fell on the future of Medical Marijuana sales in the O.C.
** Quick question, who made more money? CD 14 City Council Candidate Rudy Martinez in "flipping one house" or Campaign Consultant Michael Trujillo running a candidate against a terminally-ill challenger? BTW, Trujillo plays the "rich card" against Martinez at the "Weekly of Record".
** CD 14 City Council Candidate Tony Butka is the latest to appear with KRLA's Kevin James. You can listen to the two-segment pod cast here and there.
** The traveling "Westside White Guy" did not warrant a "full-body scan".
** Blame "Nickygate" on the nurses who also took the "Kennedy Republican's fiscal cajones".
** Lastly, say goodbye to the Death Penalty in California as its looking like San Francisco Defence, errr, District AttorneyKamala Harris, will become a third-striker/ Raider fan best friend, as California's next Attorney General.
Your thoughts..............

Scott asks. . .

"...who made more money? CD 14 Candidate Rudy Martinez in "flipping one house" or Campaign Consultant Michael Trujillo running a candidate against a terminally-ill challenger?

Depends on just HOW MANY LIES, Rudy Rich tells in completing the flip.

In one episode of "Flip this House" Rudy tells a subcrontractor to LIE to the current owner of a house (in Cypress Park -- but which he'll LIST as being in Mt. Washington TO MAKE MORE MONEY - but I digress).

RUDY tells him to LIE about how difficult it will be to fix something on the house (during the flip) so that RUDY RICH can scam the current owner into selling it to him for $20,000 LESS than it's actually worth.

That's ONE LIE that made Rudy an EXTRA $20,000 on the dealm, by HIS OWN ADMISSION.

Watch the episode, I believe it's called "Rudy in Charge".

Don't take my word for it.

It's eternal proof that the wannabe councilmember will SCREW the unsuspecting people OF HIS OWN DISTRICT, in order to make MORE money for himself. He's already done it - why would it be any different if he was able to be elected?

Are you sure you want to keep asking these "character" based questions about Rudy Martinez, Red Snot?

He's not holding up too well, and the race has hardly started.

Rudy's campaign is dictating the terms of the CD 4 race which is absurd for a challenger to be able to do.

You're wasting your efforts, 11:06

Since candidate Rudy Martinez has yet to say more than one-sentence bumper sticker slogans in public about anything that he actually stands for as a candidate (giving no one other than friends & family any reason to really support him, yet), it's obvious all the people pumping him here, including Red Spot, aren't voting "for" him. . . they're just robotically voting "against" the incumbent.

Reason won't apply here. Save your breath.

And, we know from recent history what happens when you vote primarily "against" someone, rather than "for" another.

-- You get "FAILURE" Antonio Villararigosa for mayor.

-- And, you get "Nobel Peace Prize 'winner' (for just 'thinking about peace')" President Barack Obama.

Since about 75 percent of the voters in CD14 (it's "14" not "4" by the way, foreigner)... a) don't even know there's an election in March, yet. And b) 95 percent have yet to even here Rudy Martinez's name. . . I really "doubt" he's dictating anything, to anyone, except maybe his lunch order to Trujillo, at campaign HQ in Eagle Rock (one of the least representative portions of CD14 as a whole).

"Make mine vegetarian, MEAT!"

WOW Huizar staffers working it. It is guilt by assocation because idiot Mike Trujillo was Antonio's campaign person with the LAUSD debacle. Huizar been in office over 4 years and has to put his picture on every banner at every event cause no one knows who he is. Rudy Martinez on the other hand word in the district will get endorsements from many of the organizations in CD14 because Huizar has no list of accomplishments.
Just this week Huizar voted to re open more pot shops after he Garcetti, Reyes sat on their asses for 4 yrs and let them get out of control. Huizar LIED and supported the DWP raise knowing that there are many senior citizens on fixed incomes in his district. Huizar LIED about Measure B and refused to hold any community meetings to get input. Huizar LIED and told the constituents the trash fee hike was to get more cops on the streets knowing it was going to go straight to DWP first then the general fund. Huizar named the corner of 7th & Broadway after jeweler Delijani because this Iranian family donated to his political campaign. There was no community input. Huizar is raising funds for a $100 MILLION Trolley for developers in downtown LA instead of helping with libraries and parks in his district.

More on that in the future.

Yes. What has Huizar been doing since the Autry cancelled its expansion project in Griffith Park and announced it purchased a warehouse on Victory Boulevard to house its collections?

Why hasn't he been giving a report to the community on his efforts? Is he sitting on his ass again?

Great first step for Rudy.

Dear Supporters and Friends:

Thanks to your tireless efforts to gather petition signatures, I am now officially on the ballot for the March 8th municipal elections! We were the first in this race to submit and have our signatures verified by the City Clerk, once again demonstrating that Council District 14 is ready for change.

Now that I am on the ballot, the real campaign begins and I look forward to your continued support.

I wish you and your families a happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Rudy Martinez

Wonder if Huizzy is using the CLARKS Fund to buy signatures?
