Joe,

You need to talk to a therapist.

It doesn't matter whether or not the GOP is dead in California. The entire country is going in another direction.

And the truth is WHO WOULD WANT TO BE IN CHARGE IN CALIFORNIA? Brown is going to oversee the state's bankruptcy, and he'll have to deal with an entrenched Assembly and Senate.

Again, the entire rest of the country is moving strongly in the direction of not just Republicans, but Conservatives.

Fortunately, because he is a child, Phil Jennerjahn won't be a part of it.

Come to the dark side, Joe. The water is warm. Stop living your pipedream of a second Obama term.

GOP DOA in CA? Even you, Joe B., don't want to believe that's true. Without a strong and viable opposition, any democracy breaks down.

The worst thing that could happen for CA would be for the GOP to pack its bags and leave for a red state. Without them failures like Antonio Villariagosa end up in the Governor's office. Without them, unions end up running the rest of the state, not just the City of LA. Without them, accused felons like AlarCON get a pass.

The GOP is vital to democracy, and will regroup and reassess. Hopefully they will learn from their failures, just like the Dems did in 2000.

Lesson 1 - Don't put a weak but rich candidate forward for a leadership position. Al Gore was a rotten candidate for POTUS, John Kerry was even worse. eMeg was torn from the same cloth as those two failures, but everyone in the GOP was fooled into thinking her wealth could overcome her utter unsuitability for the top spot.

Lesson 2 - Embrace 'Big Lie' propaganda to tear apart the country the same way MoveOn.org did throughout the Bush administration. It's already working with the Tea Party Movement, and it just needs a little refining in CA. When Governor Brown opens the prison gates for around 50,000 'non violent' inmates to balance the budget, be sure to exaggerate each and every Lily Burke kidnap, murder and rape and lay the blame fairly and squarely where it belongs.

Lesson 3 - Encourage candidates to write semi-autobiographical books based on 'Hope' and 'Change.' It worked for the Audacious One, and also seems to have worked for Kamala Harris with her "Smart On Crime" novel.

Lesson 4 - Find more billionaire nation haters to fund viable candidates, like George Soros, and make sure you have a popular Comedy Central puppet to poke fun at any suggestion that they're running the show.

Lesson 5 - Support the use of expensive legal action to silence blogs that criticize candidates.

Beware of what you wish for Joe B.

Beautifully stated, 7:46.

Sure, R.I.N.O., Arnold is a "Republican." Yeah, right.
Let's see how many crooks are Dems.

Antonio Villaraigosa
Herb Wesson
Jose Huizar
Ed Reyes
Janice Hahn
Bill Rosendahl
Jan Perry
Paul Koretz
Eric Garcetti
Javier Becerra
G(r)ay Davis
Karen Whatshername
Boxer/Feinstein
And the list goes on and on.

This is why California is so fucked up. Just add Jerry Brown to the list, one of the worst Governors we've ever had.

Yes, you can have California. The rest of the country will get the jobs.

Antonio Villaraigosa: DEMOCRAT!

California hasn't been a grand place in about 30 years. What person in his or her right mind would want to have their reputation depend on California's fortunes.

It has been bad here since we lost the whole aerospace industry, and hasn't gotten better since. Even Silicon Valley isn't what it used to be.

Good luck, Jerry Brown! You're gonna need it!

Ha ha ha, 8:41!

What party would be proud to say that Antonio Villaraigosa is one of theirs???????

I think that antonio villaraigosa being a life-long democrat kind of kills whatever anti-tea party, anti-republican comment that anyone can make.

For clarification purposes, because I'm sure Mayor Sam will incorrectly think I was directing my response to the post before mine: 7:46 and 8:41 are 100% correct. My original post is directed to Mayor Sam's claim that the GOP is DOA in CA.

Well, if it's the right that's shaming the TSA about groping people in a way that would be a felony if anyone else did it, good for them, and shame on the Obamer-Pelosi set.

They'd be all over the TSA if this were being done under Bush. Obama did tell the TSA to try to find a better balance but he's a wuss.

Still, much better for Republicans to be the opposition than the ones in power - they serve a useful purpose in pulling back the extreme left of the Democratic party.

I hope the idiot who runs TSA is tarred and feathered IN PUBLIC and exposing his privates, then put on a long, long flight at the back of coach. Where he's forgotten to bring his own food and water and they won't bring him anything from the front cabins and has no money to buy a coke, so he's especially miserable.

All the Democrats can do lately is ban stuff, from bags to hamburgers to who knows what's next.

The Democrats winning in California will doom the Democrats nationwide in 2012. With California so messed up and no end in sight with an all Democratic power structure, California will drag down the nations economy and contribute to the poor employement numbers nationwide, making Obama into a big time loser.

Duh.
Sorry. We are SICK of Republican leadership! Sick I tell you.

All of you "watch, and see" folks don't seem to get that we have had enough! Enough, I tell you!

80% of the past ten years-for the USA- Republican President!
100% of the past 8 for California- Republican Governor!

Smarten up- Republicans kill Democracy. That's why they're not called Democrats.

But I agree that they are not DOA- they actually had a pulse when they arrived- they're just dead now.

The lowly unevolved Democrat brain is, however, much easier to map. Like most other primitive brains, it only has two rudimentary sections:

(left side) Spend more of OTHER people''s money, every day; because MORE & MORE money will solve every social ill.

(middle section) Oppose everything Republicans support.

(It has no "right" side).
