Senate Race Out of Reach for GOP in Cali?

Drats!

Five-Thirty-Eight forecasts that the GOP may be SOL in the California U.S. Senate race. The new Field Research Poll gives Boxer an 8 point lead with just 3 days and a few hours left before election day.

"While Ms. Fiorina’s chances had already been on the decline — California has been very widely polled, and most of the surveys have shown Ms. Boxer holding a lead in the mid-single digits — the new poll harms her odds somewhat further. Given the robustness of the polling (and how close we now are to Election Day),  our model gives Ms. Fiorina just a 4 percent chance of making a comeback, down from 7 percent yesterday.

The reason this relatively small change is in fact quite important is because the California race was providing the Republicans with at least some redundancy in how they might win enough seats to take over the Senate. Along with Washington and West Virginia, it was one of three tipping point states that were most important to their overall probability of getting to 51 seats".

Dear Joe,

"Noone" who has experienced prior election hype before is impressed by the misleading polls that "you people" are putting out. If Barbara "Don't Call Me M'am" Boxer were not seriously likely to loss her 28 year grip on a Senate seat that has seen her do NOT ONE SINGLE THING for California, you wouldn't be panicking like an old schoolmistress.

Carly will beat Boxer on Tuesday because there are too many people of all parties that are fed up with the way she has ignored her base, and been a good 'DC Dem.' Well she's gonna pay the price. The people are angry at Obama for promising Champagne and delivering lukewarm Sprite, flat lukewarm Sprite actually.

The people are angry at "Boxer Knows Best" and on Tuesday night, you are going to see such a reaction to partisanship and Radical Obamaism that will make Jimmy Carter look like a freakin hero. Face it, you guys rolled the dice with "hope and change" and crapped out. When was the last time you heard anyone, even the sycophants at USC saying "Four more years!" or anything vaguely like it?

It's over; finito la musica.

"The only poll that counts is the one on election day." It's what the trailing candidates always say, and it isn't true.

Why do you candidates spend so much money on polls during the campaign if they don't count for anything?

If Joe's latest "shitting in his pants" post weren't so childish, I would demand a retraction.

Seems to work around here.

11:20PM, I seem to recall Carmen Trutanich saying "The only poll that counts is the one on election day." He was right wasn't he?

In fact there's a lot that can be learned from Trutanich's campaign. He ran on a 'Tea Party' ticket before the Tea Party existed. His appeal was to voters fed up with business as usual career politicians, and he was a stealth republican challenging a roundly despised incumbent who was ahead in the polls and precisely the kind of elitist, environmentally sensitive, limo-liberal hypocrites that Whitman, Fiorina and Cooley face on November 2.

If Trutanich were running against Weiss today, you would be saying the same gibberish, and the result would be an even bigger win for Trutanich, and Weiss wouldn't even bother to turn up at Canters Deli, let alone creep out the back door without a "thank you" to the fools who supported him.

The DailyKos was right, you're f'ed.

Hello Joe B.,

Assuming Brown wins, "noone" will remember your posting the anti-Whitman videos.

But if Boxer doesn't pull it out, all everyone will remember is that you posted, like, 200 videos proclaiming that a Boxer win was a sure thing.

That is, I think you're setting yourself up for a major embarrassment if Boxer loses, and people will be posting comments about your failed videos, for years and years.

I'll be laughing each time. Whatever phrase comes up on this blog, like "This reminds me of that time when Joe Barrett was certain that Boxer would win."

Thanks in advance for the next great Mayor Sam catch phrase!

Fiorina is a sexy cougar.

Boxer is a wrinkled, condescending 71 year old.

Just a reminder, her hometown newspaper, The San Francisco Chronicle refused to endorse Boxer, saying "she has not distinguished herself in 28 years of service.

My guess is that Joe B. must be really worried about the Senatorial race, since most of his recent posts have focused on it, rather than Brown-Whitman.

The big consolation prize in Brown-Whitman is that Whitman finally came out yesterday to say that Nikki Diaz Santillan needs to be deported.

I can't wait to see her handcuffed and trucked down to T.J. What will Gloria and Jerry do for her THEN?

"Oh Meese Wheatman! You get me lo-yer or else you done know me, and I done know you!"

Boo fucking hoo Nikki. You got used by the Democrap machine. Send us postcards from Mexico.

Michael have you read Mailander's latest "blog?" Now he is criticizing you for your health problems. He has become more rude than David Zuma Dogg Salzberg. Does he have a man crush on the guy who wants to sue you?

I hate to tell you this, Joe, but the Republicans will be overjoyed if they just win the House of Representatives.

"Noone" cares if they happen to fall short by a seat or two in the Senate.

Why? Because in order to overcome a filibuster, they only need in the low- to mid-40s in the Senate.

I guess the lesson here is that while cheerleading for this, that or some other thing, you should brush up on your facts first. I do realize that facts are unfamiliar territory for you, but later is better than never.

Joe, when YOUR polls are sampling only San Fransisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, of course it will show the dem with a lead. But, take it with a HUGE grain of salt. I saw Rassmusen last night, and he said both Fiorina, and Whitman have a real good shot to win. But the ultimate poll is Tuesday, and we'll see who's right. I would be real nervous if I were you!

SPEAKING OF TRUTANICH HE IS WORKING TO DEFINE "WHAT A NEIGHBOR IS" AS A RESULT OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD COMMISSION. SOUNDS INNOCENT IF YOU AREN'T A PART OF A NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL, ROTARY CLUB, LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION,ETC. HOW THEY WILL USE THIS POWER TO REMOVE ANY STACKHOLDER WHO QUESTIONS THEIR AUTHORITY. NOT GOOD. THESE GROUPS ARE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE SAME POLITICAL INCUMBENTS WINNING TIME AND AGAIN. THEIR MOTTO IS "YOU RUB MY BACK I'LL RUB YOURS" ALL AT THEIR COMMUNITIES EXPENSE. SO DON'T LIMIT YOUR ANGER WITH JUST CITY HALL BUT THOUGH'S WHO FRONT FOR THEM.

10:26 am - I don't know what you are reading, but Mailander was criticizing comments made at the Daily News regarding Higby and health issues.

He made no rude comments, but in fact, indicated that such personal issues should be off limits. And,by the way, I've never read anyone more rude that Zuma Dogg. To lump them together is really rude.
