How about the local schools, what Neighborhood Council serves you or what local planning area you're part of? There's a handy little tool on the front page of the City of Los Angeles' web site.
Scroll down to the "Neighborhood Resources" section and enter your address or nearest intersection. Hit find and the system does the rest!

It's good to know the identity of the local, state, etc. politicans that are ignoring your needs and screwing you, while being paid six-figure salaries to do it.
It's so much "friendlier" that way.
