Austin Beutner, Felipe Fuentes and the Mayor are trying to pull a big scam on you and you need to act now. AB 2531 is another one of those "LA only" bills that would allow the City's Community Redevelopment Agency to spend money outside its boundaries. So far example funds from the Pacoima Redevelopment Project could be spent for mega-development in Sunland-Tujunga, Shadow Hills and Lakeview Terrace. The City of LA wants to offer tax credits to businesses that create new jobs. That's a good start but why not just totally junk LA's business tax nightmare and watch a renaissance happen?
Yet another LA City department head is quitting. This time it's Rita Robinson, head of the LA Deparatment of Transportation citing the City's ailing budget. Robinson may go work for the County.
They grow grapes and make wine in Echo Park. Who knew?
Sustainable agriculture is all the rage and one restaurant in Silver Lake is taking it to the next level. Forage sources as much of it's produce locally including much of it from neighborhood gardens where growers may find their crops yielding more fruits and vegetables than they can handle. So Forage is taking it off their hands.

They are already doing this, bill or no bill.
They are taking money that was to be spent for earthquake rehabilitation in east Hollywood and earmarking it for Atwater. They have declared parts of Atwater "blighted"" so they can take control. The area residents say there is no blight and are alarmed at the CRA setting up to control private property owners.

This semi-employed child's desire for conspicuous consumption is odd, since he doesn't have even money for a car.
Are you 100% comfortable that he allocated all of the Recall money properly and honestly? Or do you think he didn't? Or do you think he was lying about having raised $200,000.
What I realy want to know is why you're not calling for full accountability on it, based on Phil's own statements about how much he raised.

919 not that I care what Zuma Dogg thinks, a guy I tried to help and did many times $$$ but he didn't really want the help I guess.
But to answer YOUR question if you ask anyone here on the blog who knows me in the last three months I've lost 65 pounds and am eating lots of fruits and veggies (sometimes so much I get tired of eating imagine that) and I have increased my exercise sessions from 2 to about 4 a week.
Not that booze is an issue for me but as part of my diet I am not drinking.
Finally I've recently taken efforts to get my spiritual health in check working to study the Bible and return to church.
How about you?
Return to church?!!!! How old are you Higby, 70? Church is for old folk, get out and get a life. If you are tired of exercising, get the best diet drug out there, meth. But it will all be for naught because after Prop. 19 passes you'll put all that weight back on - can't fight the munchies.

Good for you Michael. People make negative comments about spirituality but I will state emphatically it will change your life drastically for the better. It takes courage to admit you are now going that route. So many crybaby, immature, juvenile men posting on this blog it makes me wonder if they were raised in a cave.

Well now you opened up the discussion of religion.
How are you going to decide which church to go to? I have a theory that people put more effort in deciding which cell phone to buy than which religion to adopt.
With the stakes are eternal salvation, it's probably a pretty important decision.
If you're going back to church to find a support group, that's different.

I'm going to first try out two churches I'm very familiar with.
It has been suggested go three times to check it out.
If neither of those work out I will seek out a couple more I know. But I'm pretty sure one of the first two will work.
Michael, now that you've found religion, can we expect to see an apology to all those that you've called names over the years? Would you like to confess to the untruths you have told on this blog and repent for the slanderous gossip you have spread?
In Mexico Corona is considered piss water, that's why they export it to the U.S.. Get a real Mexican beer like Bohemia or Dos X or Carta Blanca, even Tecate is better than Corona.
The only church you need Higby is yourself and your own consience. I went to Catholic school for 12 years and the best lesson came from my Theology teacher, a Brother who quoted the bible "we are our own temple...". I guess he was hip to the Catholic priests and didn't think we needed to go to church. You don't need a public display to be a good person.
C'mon, real beer begins with Sierra Nevada Porter or Stout, everybody knows that.

Yeah, Higby bashes and ENABLES further bashing by his goon squad, but suddenly "finds religion" when HIS well-being is the subject.
Until Higby apologizes for enabling these butcherings of the human soul, he can never be truly free.
I agree re: Higby's desire to be spiritual only when it suits HIM, HIM, HIM, not all the names, insults and slander he is personally responsible for.
I always find this interesting about people who don't particularly believe in or practice a religion, or hold themselves accountable to anything except their own wants.
They're usually the first to pop up in these conversations and say:
"How can YOU, claiming to be a CHRISTIAN (etc.), do THAT?" (subliminal message: "i.e., do the same damn things I DO every day, but don't see that there's anything wrong with it."
At least be consistent, atheists and agnostics of the world. If you don't think there's anyone out there to answer to, don't try pinning believers asses to the wall BASED on the precepts THEY hold, and that you think are all HOOEY, anyway?

This isn't about us; it's about Higby. Higby is always trying to elicit sympathy for one view or another, and in his pathetic attempt to gain sympathy for his physical condition, he tries to invoke God, even though he operates this enterprise with viciousness. Believe me, if there is a heaven, Higby isn't getting in, if for nothing else than the obnoxious way he treats people personally, and the way he allows people to be treated on the blog.
And his workout "routine" is bullshit too. Two years ago, he claimed he was working out with a trainer. If he did that consistently, he'd be downright svelt after two years. I know how he lost the weight recently and it's not a healthy way to do it. Someone who has been burned badly by Higby and who used to be a friend told me. Unlike Higby, I can keep a secret.

Let me understand this.
You allow Joe B. to run roughshod over everyone and every subject on the blog, but you don't require him to respond.
Then, when people pose direct questions to him on subjects like this one where he isn't in control of the questions (see earlier complaints about his skewering discussions), you don't use the slightest bit of influence to get him to respond.
For example, hours and hours ago, I posted a comment about the SF Chronicle refusing to endorse Boxer. Where's Joe? You know damn well he is checking in a few times a day.
He loves posting arcane polls, but something like the most liberal paper in the US, with a notoriously liberal editorial board, says that "BOXER HAS NOT DISTINGUISHED HERSELF IN HER 28 YEARS IN OFFICE" it's not worth prompting Joe to answer?
Or are you going to pussy out by allowing him to pussy out, and saying that he is free to answer or not. Bullshit. It's your blog. Don't you want people dealing with issues as much as they dish our crap?

I'm not finding anything that would qualify as "running roughshod", or name calling. Is this allegation something from years ago? Please explain.
Remember the days b4 term limits? Willie Brown got things done in Sacramento, we did not have useless legislators such as Cedillo, Fuentes, de Leon. Did state govt get worse after term limits? Reason dictates it did.
Perhaps if this blog were to ignor Jennerjahn would anyone know he was there? At least Zuma dog had a brain.
