Brown and Boxer Pull Ahead in New Poll

Meg Whitman's ongoing effort to buy the governorship of California finds her $119 million out of pocket and 5 points down in the latest poll by LA Times/USC. The Times/USC poll has Brown at 49% over Whitman at 44%.

Meanwhile, Carly Fiorina finds herself even further behind at 43% to Sen. Boxer's 51% according to this poll.

The first debate between the two gubernatorial candidates will be held Tuesday night at UC Davis. More details here.

The establishment candidates should enjoy their leads why they have them. The candidates that have not spent their entire working lives sucking off the taxpayer will be victorious on Election Day. Even liberal California can see that it is time to make Sacramento and Washington D.C. more like businesses and less like spoiled rich kids.

That Brown and Boxer have recovered so little in the polls is disastrous for them as Whitman and Fiorina both have huge warchests to blast them with, while Brown and Boxer have an endorsement from the California League of Conservation Voters.

Brown also has the problem of his refusal to be interviewed by the John and Ken Show - the LA Slimes raises the question "Is Jerry a Chicken" following John Ken's suggestion that listeners send Jerry rubber chickens, and publishing a photoshopped picture of a suggestion for Jerry's new LA campaign headquarters.

Meanwhile, for the likely outcome of the Republicans vs. Democrats in November, take a look at the latest Field Poll on Cooley vs. Harris. Cooley's increasing his lead as the San Francisco liberal democrat falls further behind mired in a one of several messes of her own making.

What planet are you living on? $120 million spent and falling behind, do you think any "huge" warchest will help Meg now? Meg should be 25 points up given the money she has blown. Face it, it is not in the cards. Stop pissing into the wind!

Joe, keep your pants on.

The poll was with 55% democrats!

55%.

D's are 44% of the registered vote count, as of 2008, and there's no way 44% of the electorate, let alone 55%, will be D's.

The Times poll is flawed on the 55% pretext. Which also explains the wide swing as their previous poll was not 55% D's.

K Kd K -what businesses are you talking about? Enron? AEG? GM? Cuntrywide? It's funny you end your comment with spoiled rich kids because that is what Meg & Fiorina are. Go take a spin on their yachts you jackass.

Looks like it's back to the private sector for Nut Meg and and her job killing friend Curly Fiorina.

Money can't buy love or elections.

Maybe they'll run for Richard Alarcorn's seat.

The polling trends are moving away from both these gals. Perhaps they should throw their money at a large boat and they can both sail away.

So, Joe, if you're SO sure that the Dems will win both of these seats, then why don't you put your money where your mouth is?

Why not place a bet with Phil Jennerjahn?

Whether money OR time away from this blog. Or both. Whoever loses each race pays the other $500 PLUS they stay off of Mayor Sam for a YEAR.

Are you confident, Joe?

Aren't you smarter than Phil Jennerjahn?

Where are your bawls?

Joe,

What is it that makes you think that Democrats are going to be voting in November?

They're definitely having trouble getting out the vote.

If you KNEW anything about voting history, that's the Dems big problem. Dems showing up to vote, and the anti-incumbency mood.

Polling is done via the telephone. It doesn't reflect LIKELY voters.

But since you're such a child who simply wants to go rah rah rah, you may have your time to do that now, since it doesn't COUNT.

Actual votes count.

You're going to look rather stupid come November. You only act this way because you're a pussy and a scared one at that.

Democrats will be voting in November because the Obama factor for this year is Prop. 19. This is the sleeper proposition that no one really wants to talk about but everyone will be voting for in the privacy of their own booths.

It will be a landslide for Democrats. Brown will be 'tea-baggin' Meg cum November. Fiorina will be paying to watch.

POLITICAL POLL "PHANTOM PHACTOR?": I know we have some experienced poll watchers here. Here's what I was thinking about poll results.

Let's say, for sake of this illustration, Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman are TIED in the polls on election eve.

I think Jerry Brown is the one with all the unions behind him.

So the question is, come election day, do all the union members who go out to vote make enough of an impact to rock the vote beyond what is being predicted?

I am not making a statement, but am wondering?

So the "Phantom Phactor" would be all the union members who vote on election day (or send in absentee ballots) who would not be showing up in polls.

I'm a lifelong Democrat and between not voting for Brown and filing Republican in future races. What turned me off about Brown is anyone dumb enough to align themselves with the Mexican Mafia thugs in city hall is clueless. Whitman came out strong on immigration reform then backed down. Everyone is saying Brown has a Latino base in CA but that's enough to turn me off to even though I'm a Latino.

NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES IS PERFECT AT LEAST I CAN WORK WITH BARBARA. I VOTED FOR JERRY HIS FIRST TIME. FUNNY THING IS I'M REPUBLICAN. I DON'T LIKE THE REPUBLICAN SIDE IN THESE RACES AT ALL. MANY OF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN A REAL REPUBLICAN IN GOVERNMENT IN YOUR LIFE. ABE LINCOLN WAS THE FIRST. ALL PRESIDENTS HAVE NICK NAMES AND HIS WAS HONEST ABE! not trickey dickey or slick willie. WE NEED PEOPLE IN GOVERNMENT WHO CAN RIGHT THEIR OWN SPEECHES AND MEAN WHAT THEY SAY.
