Jerry Jokes, Whitman Wins
Jerry told some jokes!
Last night Jerry told us not to worry about him ditching the governorship to run for President again because he’s too old! And even though he spent 8 years as governor closing bars in Sacramento, Jerry’s too old and too married for that now – so voters shouldn’t worry.
Want to know why Meg’s points sounded familiar? Because Meg launched her jobs plan months ago and she’s stuck to it.
That’s called consistency, and that’s what it takes to create jobs, cut the budget and red tape, and reform education in California.
Debates are political performance art, and all Jerry Brown proved is thirty years later he’s still playing voters like a pro.

Yes, Meg consistently flip-flops. Even Carlos Amescua on Fox 11 news (who's a conservative) thought Meg looked rusty and tentative.
She's going to lay off 40,000 workers and create jobs on day one.
She's for illegal immigration and against it.
If I was her, I would smack around my debate prep team.

Honestly I did not stick around for the last 20 minutes because there was no point.
Brown got off some good lines - I would hope so since he has been part of the old boy crowd now for 40 years. Does he really think people are going to forget and does he really think yapping about tax cuts for billionaires will get him elected? only in California are voters that stupid.
Whitman is not her best in this setting and sadly in this society she is at a disadvantage unless Oprah or Mrs. Obama gives her a shout out.
Brown will be the same old same old and Whitman will be in a tight spot with the entrenched libs in Sac - Arnold DID put his money on the line and the braindead voters in CA decided Hope & Change were cooler than budget cuts and fewer government employees.
CA is a mess and a weekend in TJ will show you where it is heading -

AW good points and anyone that didn't fall asleep will agree. Jerry is funny and that charm is what bagged him a multi millionaire GAP trophy wife - he must have spent some of those hours in Sacramento bars taking notes from Senators Kerry and McCain. Ms. Whitman will have to step it up if she is going to get the swing votes needed to win. President Obama has set the bar high and California voters still cling to the warm buzz of promises over results.
If Whitman is going to win, she has to start telling people what they want to hear and lighten up on the realities. No one moves to California to deal in reality unless it has a good script.

Being a CEO and an elected official are worlds apart. CEOs are essentially dictators who can pretty much do what they want by decree. Governors need to be able to work within the system and deal with voters, the legislature, special interests, and the media, and still get things do.
Whitman needs to show me that she can do that. Arnold couldn't.

Alexandra,
It's not nice to read my scheduled post before it is posted. It's really not nice to then write a post about the same subject, post it BEFORE mine, and even mention my name and opinion. I am asking you not to do that again, please.

Wow Aly, that's not cool!

Joe B., typical freedom-hating liberal, feels the need to control everyone and everything.
Including how and when someone posts on the blog.
Get used to it Alexandra.
It's only a matter of time before he tries to have Higby kick you off the blog.

I agree completely: Jerry is funny, even charming. But Meg's way will help California. Now...will California voters go for the charm? We will see, but I hope not. This is not a high school play; it is our lives and the lives of our children. Brown will increase government and unions; Meg will rein them in. You are spot on again, Alexandra.

Honey, sorry to break it to you but Whitman's done. She comes off pn camera like the grinning corporate nightmare she is.
I work for one of those smiling felons. Hell if I would ever vote for one to represent me.

Whitman won the debate because Brown didn't.
It's not like she was spectacular.
But as the underdog Brown needed to throw a knock out punch, or not be Jerry Brown.
Brown came off as senile.

Yet another irrelevant (i.e. uninformative and uninformed) blog post from Alexander. Please get with the flow of the blog. You're taking up space with milquetoast speeches.

Alexandra, only a lowlife blogger would leapfrog another's post and rush to get it up first. That's low.
You owe Joe B an apology.

It's the typical JoeB/Joe Mailander playbook. Start shit with any blogger (other than Higby) who is conservative. The Joes want to wipe any non-Liberal blog off the air.
Phil is a loon but his freedom hating liberal bit is probably true.

Looks more to me that Alexandra is the one starting shit. Leapfrogging is a big no no.
