This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Republicans create jobs? When George Bush was installed by the Supreme Court as President in 2000, the U.S. had the lowest unemployment rate in the industrialized world, thanks to 8years of a Democratic administration. Now, after 8 years of the Republicans wrecking the economy, the U.S has the highest unemployment rate of the industrialized world. Don't let the facts stop you. (Republicans hate the facts. It ruins their arguments).

1057 obviously doesn't know his or her history.
Congress has been run by Dems for the past four years.
You just proved the case that the budgetary problems were overseen by Democrats in Congress. I hope you're not SO stupid to think that the president does the finances. It has been Congress. And, of course, the House of Reps, the Senate and the White House have ALL been Dems for two years.

8:11 you are ignoring the fact that the Republicans ran the economy into the ditch with tax cuts and deregulation. Blaming the democrats is like blaming the paramedics who show up to the accident for the fact that it's taking so long for the victims to recover from their injuries. Democrats have been in control of Congess and the White House for only two of the last ten years. Republicans ignore the facts, because they prove their stupid economic theories don't work.
