Outtakes from CD 14: Is Councilman Huizar screening El Sereno "Fourth of July Parade" Participants?

Hola and "Happy 3rd of July" from the "Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14".

Now before my bloggin spoll checkers get their Depends moist with another supposed example of this blogger's K-12 LAUSD experience, let me remind my fellow cyber political bretherns that we celebrate America's "sacred day of freedom from the redcoats", not based upon the calender, but upon the political needs of our collectivist overlord, in this case Councilman Jose Huizar.

You see in the Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14, history, facts, truth, transparency, and proper credit for past deeds, must bow before the "five-star loving", political revisionist, who finds political credit in the most obscure politically-stage settings.

On the topic of politically-stage settings, it seems that Councilman Jose Huizar is in the business of micro-managing community celebrations of the Fourth of July within his council fiefdom.

Sources are reporting that A & E "Flip the House" Team Member and CD 14 Businessman Rudy Martinez was denied a spot in the El Sereno "3rd of July Parade". This was despite the fact that A & E was to make a $500 donation to the El Sereno Bicentennial Committee, which annually organizes the event.

It seems that Councilman Huizar forced the Committee to schedule the parade on the 3rd from its normal Fourth of July date, to coincide with his "Fireworks Show' at El Sereno Park. Thus, from parade start to end of the fireworks, its all about crafting the Huizar image, with no political challengers allow, at least in the parade.

But what if a 2011 political challenger does show up at El Sereno Park on Saturday? Then one can can bet that they will be shadowed by Team Huizar. Think Henry Casas.

Your thoughts..............

Scott Johnson in CD 14

My thought is "why didn't you find a better candidate instead of electing Huizar last time?"

It's not like you didn't know what he's about.

What percentage of people voted in your District? If the people are content with this idiot, then you have to deal with him.

This guy is too funny!!! Who the hell does he think he is? First of all he is just a councilmember, its not like he has a whole lot of "power" to begin with... so now he's going to get all territorial about some parade that in no way represents anything but the freedom that our soldiers have fought for over throughout the history of this country. Second of all, if he's going to take a puppy like take a piss to mark my territory attitude; then he should really go back to Boyle Heights and take a piss over there; because out of this entire district that's really "all of his territory" and I wonder why???
Somebody please explain to this man that its this stupid " ignorant immigrant mentality" that gives the rest of us a bad rep, and that this country was founded on the principal of FREEDOM and yes that's what we want to celebrate, the freedom of speech, of difference of opinion and the opportunity for change! Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!! For the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!!

Classic Splotbloggin'. I liked at GPWist where MT said "Jose Huizar controls a Fourth of July parade in CD Catorce--on the Third of July of course--and son-of-a-chola, his prospective opponent in 2012 Rudy "Flipper" Martinez will not be marching in it. So says Scott in about 700 tight words."

If voters keep voting these same idiots into office, then they get what they deserve, the worst city on the planet.

Electioneering is not allowed where public funds were used to put on an event. It wouldn't matter if it was Martinez or someone else. It's illegal.

Otherwise every candidate for everything from dog catcher to president would be setting up booths and letting the government pay to gather the crowd they will be promoting themselves to. That's why Martinez was denied. It's very simple.

By the same token, Huizar cannot put his own campaign materials out at a public event either, but he can be there and speak as the currently elected representative as long as he doesn't talk about campaign.

I don't mind this blog when it has something factual to say and when the bloggers actually know what they'e talking about, but the conspiracy theory mentality and speculation just makes you look uninformed.

Rudy Martinez word already all over CD14 will crucify Huizar. In the years Huizar has been councilman, people still don't know who the hell he is. Too many constituents upset with Huizar for being like the Mayor a huge Failure. He's done nothing in CD14 but bullshit and corrupt back door dealings. Word throughout the CD14 is there's so much baggage and stuff which will come out during campaign that Huizar will wish he would have stayed in Zacateras.

Everyone tell your friends to get to Clean Sweep LA July 17th at Mayflower Club in No. Hollywood at 1pm. People are sick of the bullshit corrupt politicians in this city. You read Huizar's posts on his blog and just like the Mayor all he's done is give those certificates which cost the city $1 million to make for all to people. He's responsible for the medical marijuana shops all over the city.

In reading all this comments its on obvious that is a gossip game. At the end of the day, we have a councilmember who has done nothing for the district and potential candidate who stars in a show, great options I tell you.

"Electioneering is not allowed where public funds were used to put on an event. It wouldn't matter if it was Martinez or someone else. It's illegal. " AGREED!!! So why is Jose using his city hall office and his staff (that means you Francine) to do all his campaign dirty work?
Talk the talk and walk the walk, I am tired of his useless staff, they don't respond to my emails or calls they don't help me fix my problems so why should I vote for Huizar? I don't know this guy Rudy but anyone is better than Jose, I know that for a fact.

"Electioneering" is a term that applies only for election day.

We the people of El Sereno need too stand up and fight for our rights and community! We can not allow any one man to call the shots for our community. We need to stop relying on the city to make a difference in our community when it is our own kids killing each other and it is our own children steeling our cars. I can not imaging how one person that was not allowed to participate in a community parade is more important then your own kids or the kids of some one you know in your community. I ask the community of El Sereno, cry with me over the children and not a fucking parade!!! lame...
