Outtakes from CD 14: CLARTS Fund Transparency Held Hostage, Day 56 and other CD 14 News

Hola from the "Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14", where disregard for transparency and the pursuit of future payola is a daily endeavor.

We are at Day 56 of the "CLARTS Fund Transparency Held Hostage" and courtesy of Channel 4 News, we may now have some reasons why Councilman Jose Huizar, is refusing to provide The Voice Newspaper with documents pertaining to the past and current status of the CLARTS Fund ( ** link to view former Councilman Nick Pacheco's presentation on the CLARTS Fund).

It seems that Councilman Huizar is an traveling sort, who wants the taxpayers to foot the bill for his plush accommodations when he journeys back to his old college digs at Princeton University, to give a speech on Martin Luther King Day, El Salvador, Mexico or Washington D.C., to party with his old college pals.

Now for example, the fact that Councilman Huizar would give a speech at his former university, is not something that would cause us to label with the "breaking news moniker". But the fact that Councilman Huizar, thought that the taxpayers should pay for his "quickie to Princeton", is cause for further investigation. This thanks to the KNBC Channel Four report on him and his fellow council mates traveling follies.

Now Councilman Huizar, being the "pillar of ethics" that his paid spin crafters like "Coca Puffs" (Rick Coca) and "Papa Puffs" (Arturo Gonzalez), will attempt to promote to the uneducated masses, announced that he would reimbursed the taxpayers for the $3,000 and change, which was the cost of his Princeton adventures and roadies to El Salvador, Mexico and that party weekend in D.C. After all, it take an "visionary humanitarian" to donate excess city ambulances to your old haunts in Zacatecas, Mexico. (BTW, maybe Huizar should of donated one of those excess ambulances to Fire Station 16 in El Sereno, with staffing included?)

But for Councilman Huizar, the cost of his Princeton adventure on the MLK holiday weekend may cost more than the 3K plus, that Huizar will reimbursed the taxpayers.

The rank and file of the Los Angeles Police Department might want to note that Councilman Huizar stated during his MLK Day Speech that the LAPD actions during the "May Day Melee" were "unprovoked". (** link to see video excerpts of his speech).

This may come as news to the LAPD officers who injured by rocks and frozen water bottles, that were hurled in their direction, prior to the controversial reaction of LAPD on that day.

With Councilman Huizar facing a possible challenger for re election in 2011, it would not serve Councilman Huizar, to anger the rank and file officers of LAPD, thus risk losing the Police Protective League endorsement for his 2011 bid to further serve CD 14 in the City Council.

But then who wants someone who does not respect the rule of law, in regards to the California Public Records Act, and use of taypayers money for traveling junkets, to serve another four years at 200 Spring Street?

.... and BTW, were you going to use the CLARTS Fund, Councilman Huizar, to pay for your trips? Just wondering.

OTHER CD 14 RELATED NEWS:

** According to our friend Jerry Sullivan at the Los Angeles Garment and Citizen Newspaper, Councilman Huizar may be facing some legal proceedings regarding his "pocket park project" at 9th and Hill in Downtown LA. Once again Councilman Huizar and this time state officials, risk a lawsuit over their collective denial to disclose financial data regarding Huizar's proposed park. This may cause some discomfort for Governor Arnold "Kennedy Republican" Schwartzenegger, who supposedly, espouses "openness", in regard to these types of financial dealings.

** Councilman Huizar continues his steadfast support of those dissident merchants at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, who think that their future support of Councilman Huizar's re-election, merits paying below market value rents for their inholdings.

** Nice of Councilman Huizar to consider the plight of the Los Angeles Youth Athletic Club, who lost their Lincoln Heights home, due to CD 1 Councilman Ed "Density" Reyes'es future vision for the Lincoln Heights Jail property, that LAYAC once called home. But it should be noted here that LAYAC was going to be relocated to the Hazard Park Armory in 2007, but Councilman Huizar and his "political papi", Mayor Antonio Parkervillar, had a future "Legacy in mind".

** Sidewalk street vendors in Councilman Huizar's Boyle Heights domain, are none too happy about their treatment at the hands of LAPD Hollenbeck's finest, but one must wonder how the permit paying businesses along Cesar Chavez Ave., feel about non-permit paying street vendors?

** The Eastern Group Publications has the official results from the recent Neighborhood Council Elections. We can now say that our Mayor Sam friend and all-around good guy Jose Aguilar, will become "Presidente" of the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council. No word whether his Boyle Heights neighbor, Councilman Jose Huizar, has called to wish him well in his future endeavor.

** The CD 14 connected non-profit "Girls Today Women Tomorrow" was presented with a check for $325,000 by Councilman Jose Huizar, to help renovate their 'enpowerment center". This shows what benefits a "connected non-profit" in CD 14 can deride from having the councilman's wife as a former board member. One can bet that GTWT will kick in for Huizar in 2011.

Your thoughts.........

You're as hung up on Jose Huizar as Mary Cummins is hung up on Zuma & Phil.

phil jennerjahn has another hilarious and delusional post about how great things are going on with the recall, and how he still thinks he's going ot win the primary.

I wrote to him to ask if he think she's going to win because of which of the following:

- Alienating your fellow Republicans?
- Not honoring your word to give the url back to Andion?
- Demeaning others?
- Failing to update us on the recall?

I predict Phil Jennerjahn will get no more than 10 votes. TEN votes. Not one more than that.

Whatever happens, he will be sure to sugar coat it and say he'd still have won were it not for Mary Cummins, Mayor Sam or Zuma Dogg.

This is as offensive as Alarcon using the Lopez Canyon Mitigation Fund to assist the frickin' union-sponsored diesel belching truck driving school in the middle of the Lopez Canyon Landfill. Guess Alarcon thinks its just great for the children of the area to have semi-trucks running up and down residential streets all day long.

Thanks Scott for putting out the truth. Huizar is trying to help his image saying he supports LAPD but too bad cops don't like. Here's another video the other candidate should use against Huizar. He's suppose to be an attorney yet he jumps to conclusions against LAPD without knowing the facts. Gang members in Ramona Gardens tell officers they have Huizar cell phone number and when they are stopped to call him.

Here's Huizar asking for a FBI investigation without knowing what actually happened. Come to find out this was a gang member who was shot by police.
