Daily News Backs Krekorian
The Los Angeles Daily News has endrosed Paul Krekorian for City Council over Downtown Chris Essel.
"In politics, it's often more informative to judge a candidate or issue by their supporters," the editorial said. "In that light, noting that Krekorian has received the endorsement of many neighborhood council members and community activists...indicates they also believe Krekorian is the one who can best represent their interests in City Hall."

Didn't they also back Tamar Galatzan and Pete Sanchez?
Oh yeah...that's right. They did.
I wouldn't listen to them too much.

Big deal.
PHIL GENDERJANE backs Ess-hole!

This is huge, much more important than the Times.
This is what all the pissed off people read.

I guess Phil follows the LA Times line on issues now.
What an idiot.

Tamar is the next one to come out for Krekorian.
The noose is getting smaller and smaller and smaller.

If ALL the pissed off people had read it, Tamar would have come in better than third....

Sounds like the Daily News is overdue to be right, Phil . . . it could happen! They've got a 50/50 chance this time.
But if it's any encouragement to Essel supporters, recent history does show us that the larger body of Angeleno's almost NEVER elect (to use the DN's words) "...the one who can best represent their interests in City Hall."
I mean, when was the last time that actually happened?
Don't we have a better chance of finding new oil deposits under L.A. when they finally start digging those tunnels for Antonio's "subway to the sea"?

Has Antonio come out to endorse anyone of the candidates? Eric Spillman finally got his answer on Mayor security detail.
Now we finally know how much taxpayers had to shell out for L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's luxury vacations to South Africa and Iceland this summer. It cost the city $20,736 for the mayor's security detail on those two trips, according to records released by the City Controller's office in response to a California Public Records Act request.

Good judgement on the part of the DN. They saw thru Essel the empty vessel.

Paul is going to win.

Where exactly is this "supposed" endorsement? It's not on the Daily News website OR on Google News. I've looked in their Opinion section, typed in both "Paul Krekorian" and "Chris Essel" into the Daily News search engine.
Seems kinda fishy to me....just saying

Although it's true that all the pissed off people read the Daily News, it doesn't mean the Daily News always gets the right candidate. Tamar just wasn't the right candidate so the only votes she could have gotten were the people who voted based on the endorsement of their favorite local paper.
Nobody in the Valley reads the Times for their local Valley coverage so they aren't a good source to pull votes from. Did they endorse?
I wonder what Essel was thinking when she came up with the idea that she would make a good council member? One would have thought that Shallman would have tried to talk her out of it, much less represent her! But I guess he just wanted the candidate who has the money. I hope this one bites him.
