I agree wigh 1141, Higby.
Joe B. is nothing short of a bully and stupid subjects like this are a waste of time. You need to find more interesting, non bullying writers or just shut it down.
Even you're bored with it. Can you imagine how much freer you'll be if you just put the blog on ice or pack it in? Wouldn't you feel liberated?
Plus we'll get a chance to see if Joe B. has what it takes to run his own blog and get a following. He can't and he wouldn't.

Who knows I may use them to post Chris Essel For City Council Signs.

Mmmmary at 607 I don't usually post your "Joe B is a bully" comments but thought I would let this one go through so everyone can see how obsessed with Joe you are.
Feel free to send me another profanity laden email telling me to die.

I thought you said that I was obsessed with Zuma Dogg. Are you just making more fake propaganda?
And I didn't wish you death. I wished you congestive heart failure from your ever-growing obesity. I hope you survive so you can keep your idiotic blog going. And you'd be miserable so you wouldn't be able to stuff your fat bastard face.

Judy Price said:
Tamar ran a dignified campaign and does not deserve such attacks. She is a very dedicated public servant who excels at both her jobs. Her attention to the area she serves as Neighborhood Prosecutor has been a great service to the community. She has regularly attended the Valley Glen Neighborhood Association Meetings (and I understand meetings in Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks, as well) for the last several years to give reports and to answer stakeholder questions. She returns calls and follows up on stakeholder problems.
Representing District 3 on the School Board, she is the first representative we've had who has a regular newsletter to keep us informed. She's proven to be an independent person and not part of the mayor's inner circle, after all. The same can't be said about Chris Essel, a real downtown insider and the mayor's chosen one.
My personal endorsement of Paul Krekorian for the CD2 seat had nothing to do with the excellent job Tamar has done. It wasn't an easy decision as I love both Tamar and Paul, but ultimately, based on all around experience, chose Paul. But make no mistake, Tamar is better qualified and has more experience than any of the other 8 candidates combined, although I have a fondness for Pete Sanchez and respect for Mary Benson. Essel cannot hold a candle to any of the aforementioned.
Paul has also served his district well and solved problems for us, sometimes in concert with Tamar. Never in concert with Chris Essel, though, since she's never been in our community, attended one of our meetings, or reached out to any of us prior to the mayor's recruitment of her to run for the seat.
The only mud slinging and dirty campaigning was done by Chris Essel. Let me repeat. The only mud slinging and dirty campaigning was done by Chris Essel. It's time to challenge Essel to defend her accusations against Tamar and Paul. Come forth with the proof. Better yet, come forth with your credentials that apply to this job. You are not a business woman as you claim, not as an executive at Paramount, anymore than I considered myself a business woman as an executive at CBS Entertainment, ABC before that and Dick Clark Productions.
Hard feelings, disappointment is obvious in the aftermath of a hard fought election. But it's time to put that aside and rally around a candidate. That candiate must be Paul Krekorian. If you sit on your hands, you could be responsible for the unimaginable, the election of the downtown insider, Chris Essel. Don't be idle, don't be uninformed, check with the community leaders you trust and... VOTE!!!
Anonymous said:
Uh Judy? How "dedicated" is Tamar when she commits to one job, then gets another, commits to that job, and then runs for another?
That's the furthest thing from dedicated as I can imagine, and the primary reason I didn't vote for her.
Tamar stuck to NOTHING.

Last I checked Paul this is still America and folks have free speech no matter how distasteful.
If you want something pretty, go read your issue of Modern Maturity.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program. (and Joe and Tamar please take down your signs already!)

Paul you must not have been reading this blog very long. People have never NOT had any doubts about my character.
Look this isn't a SLAP meeting. Its a freakin' blog. Its for entertainment. Obviously you're reading it. We're not here to micro-manage people's views nor to push any specific agenda.
Have a good evening.

I am mortified by what I am reading on this blog. As we have seen the blogs have unfortunately become one of our only sources of news on the CD2 race - and often anything going on in the city.
Higby, I have respected much of what you have said and done - especially during the CD2 race.
I agree in free speech, but what you just wrote, and what you have allowed to fly really discredits all of your good word, and the integrity of this blog. If you want to be taken seriously please keep this in mind.
I am very disappointed in your comments to Hatfield. I am also agreeing with Hatfield and Judy Price, the attacks on Tamar are not being written in any kind of intelligent manner. They are just nasty and childish. As my late grandmother used to say, "if you believe that - chose better adjectives. If those are the only ones you've got - you sound ignorant."
Suzanne Lewis said:
Hey! Anonymous, Still a coward I see. Are you sure you don't want the Jerk of the Month website? Why must you be so vulgar & crude? Are you illiterate? Or just ignorant? IF, you can't be civil I ask that the webmaster DELETE your comments and NOT allow you access to this site effective immediatlely. I will dedicate all of the time time necessary to see that this site is taken down. I will file a formal complaint with the City and any another City Agency, along with the owners of this site and anyone else I can think of, first thing tomorrow morning. I urge the webmaster to do the right thing. REMOVE the vulgar, obscene comments of "Anonymous" IMJMEDIATELY.
And, Anonymous get a life and GO away.

10:10 you are an idiot. I feel like I shouldn't have to even go here but there is a huge difference between yelling fire in a crowded theatre and calling someone a fucking bitch.
Number one is a threat to public safety.
Number is just crude but not (yet) a crime.
Deal with it.

Hey Hatfield - where were you when someone posted THE EXACT SAME WORDS about Richard Alarcon's daughter? Or the shit people post about any number of women who work for Jose Huizar.
Is that different because those gals are Mexican???
Inconsistent. Hypocrite. Don't post here anymore.

Higby - Where are you getting racial issues from?
I have read the whole line of comments here. I see nothing racial.
Perhaps people are commenting because they are following this story and were not following those others you mentioned. Bigger question, why make this blog an open forum for people to make such useless and energy wasting comments? We - the community - have come to count on you. Why are you taking this out on Paul Hatfield?
The defensiveness seems out of character for you. Please be the professional we have come to expect.

12:15 it was curious that certain people jumped up for Tamar when for AGES the same stuff has been said on this blog about the women I mentioned as well as others who may not "find favor" with certain crowds.
I react swiftly to hypocrisy and self-righteousness. And Paul is full of both.
Remember this is a blog. Not a SLAP or DONE meeting. People can say pretty much what is on their mind as long as its on topic, not libelous, etc.
Political correctness has no place on this blog. If one does not like that there are PLENTY of other blogs.
You guys can dish it out against Villar, Huizar and others. God forbid someone mouths off about precious little Tamar. She's a pretty rotten person as politicians go so folks have a right to be angry.
Michael Higby said:
And by the way Tamar STILL needs to take her signs down in Sherman Oaks.

Ok everyone it's late.
Let's just remember this started
because people were offended by unchivalrous and ignorant language used to describe a female member of our community.
On the one hand I commend people for this.
Let's remember this post wasn't even about Tamar Galatzan. The rude comments were just someone's opinions, and they were not even germaine to the post.
Were those comments necessary? No. Did MS note on a post several days ago they wouldn't accept certain types of comments? Yes.
This was about people saying "keep it respectable. Keep it focused." MS did not make the comments. No need for MS to now be attacking readers. Really..it's late. Enough.
Let's get back to what is important - making sure the community is served.

No Michael, calling a woman a "F-Bag"
is just not acceptable. I don't know about what other threads your are referring to, I don't read them all.
On any thread I post, I will not allow this. I think that's pretty reasonable.

To play devil’s advocate, though, there is an upside of the interpersonal insulation blogs provide. Candor. Maybe we can’t solve stubborn problems if people are constantly censoring their true feelings to avoid hurting each other’s feelings.
If conservatives think liberalism is stealing from them to pay for programs that hurt rather than help, maybe liberals need to better understand their point of view, in its most unvarnished form. If liberals think their friends’ conservatism is self-centered and self-defeating in the long-run, maybe conservatives need to better understand that viewpoint, uncensored.
Mostly, I think the blogosphere is erring on the side of damnation over deliberation and lecturing over listening. But there may be an upside to all of this e-blathering.

Judy Price posting?
The same Judy Price who is a dangerous enemy of freedom?
So...let me get this straight.
She wants to control: who gets to meet Paul Krekorian & who gets invited to the private CD2 forum with Paul.
Now she wants to control who says what on the blogs and she wants to use this blog space to pimp Paul on the Mayor Sam crowd??
Oh brother...
Judy, don't worry about Tamar...she's plenty tough. She's like me...she just lets it roll off her back. If you play in the big leagues, you have to be able to take a big league punch.
And to all you liberal hypocrites, where were you when people were making insulting comments about Walter Moore, Zuma Dogg, me, Michael Higby, Mary Benson...etc...etc...
Of course...you were too busy hating on freedom to say anything at the time. Right?
Unknown said:
uh Phil, we're talking about vulgar name calling, not "freedom hating liberals".
Anonymous said:
Because of course "freedom hating liberal" is not a vulgar slur!?!?!
How did someone being or not being a liberal become part of this?
Does Phil not see the paradox in what he says? His hatred of "liberals" and desire to silence them is an act of "freedom hating."
Pointing out the obvious.
Can't have it both ways. It is either respect all which is said or nothing. You don't have to agree with it, but you should respect it. It's a basic concept we teach children.
Vulgar language is vulgar language. It is tasteless and ruins any point you try to make.
Kim said:
Phil is probably pointing out that it is liberals who have one standard for what is said about Republicans and another for what is said about Democrats.
Example: Its ok to call Sarah Palin a Caribou Barbie B word but not to make a similar remark about a Democrat.
I am certain Joe B. and Phil Hatfield are Democrats.
More importantly those defending Tamar are thinking with their penises. I've been at events and heard the private remarks "Yea I'd do her." Middle aged men tend to have a creepy, svengali attitude around attractive, younger women and become immediately defensive of them as they believe it will earn them sex with the woman.
