I can hear Essel on the phone chewing someone out right now:
"I have to go all the way up there AGAIN?! God Dammit you promised only THREE forums! Now I have to cancel ANOTHER tropical body scrub. Outrageous! When is the election?!"
What a dumb format for tonights debate in Sherman Oaks. 1 minute opening statement and 30 seconds closing statement. Way to be able to address important issues. What is this, a game show lighting round. Yeah, I'm going to chose my councilmember based on minute sound bites.
Sounds like what passes for journalism these days at the "Old Gray Westside Hag On Spring Street" and at the "Moldy Green Sheet".

Anybody gonna ask the candidates about AB155?
Tamar was caught lying to the crowd tonight in Sherman Oaks regarding her use of LAUSD campaign funds while City Council candidate. If you found out she said, "no" when the answer was "yes" how would you feel about that?
Wonder what JoeB thinks of that?
THEY NEED TO FIX THE FORMAT FOR THESE DEBATES. IF CANDIDATES HAVE INFORMATION TO GIVE THEY NEED THE TIME TO EXPRESS IT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DEBATES IN GENERAL. MAYBE PEOPLE WOULDN'T BE BORED IF THESE PEOPLE COULD THRASHOUT SOME TRUTH IN THESE DEBATES. WE NEED GOOD QUESTIONS BUT TOO MUCH STRUCTURE LIMITS IMPORTANT INFORMATION. I HOPE PEOPLE REALIZE HOW THIS SHORT CHANGES THE PROCESS.
