Humor Masks Forlorn Hope for Tamar Galatzan in CD-2
LAUSD School Board Member Tamar Galatzan's "political roadmap" once was easy for all to read. Elected with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's Special Interest Money to her current political maildrop on Beaudry. All she had to do was follow School Board President Monica Garcia's edits and onward and upward she would progress in Villaraigosa's Machine.
But something call "free thinking from Tamar", told those in the Mayor's inner circle, that Tamar wasn't the willing "Villarnista" that was crafted by the likes of Mike Trujillo. Plus, there was some husband baggage the clouded Tamar's future with Team Villaraigosa.
Now as Tamar pursues her forlorn quest to become Councilwoman Tamar Galatzan, what better way to create some notice for your lonely pursuit of higher office, than a little political humor ??
Thus, in what could be Tamar's highlight in her quest for office space on Spring Street, we present "The Top Ten Reasons to Elect Tamar Galatzan to the City Council"
10. As a Criminal Prosecutor, she has NEVER lost a case
9. Tamar is already knocking on doors and will walk more precincts than any other candidate. She is a triathlete for crying out loud!
8. Knows that the Tujunga Wash never adds starch.
7. Spearheaded the effort to put new computers and technology into each school and each classroom in the Valley.
6. Knows that nothing rhymes with Orange Line.
5. Tamar is the rare officeholder who fights for what she believes is in the best interest of the community and stands up to powerful interest to get things done.
4. Will go to bat for Valley homeowners – and their lawns.
3. It is easy to recognize which candidate she is; she is the one who actually lives in the Valley.
2. Knows that the distance between City Hall and the Valley can sometimes feel like a thousand miles.
1. Has voted for Wendy Greuel more times than Essel and Krekorian – combined.

At least if no one wants to vote for you, laughing and humor dulls the pain of political abandonment.
BTW, whats with all the joint photos with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa ?? One would of thought that his poliltical capital is worthless.
Your thoughts...........................

Tamar will do better than people think. She impressed a lot of people in VICA today.
Wendy rushed in and ran out.
Cant stand the heat i guess.

Tamar is better than Essel. That should get her to 20%.

Tamar will outpoll Essel.

Tamar impressed a lot of people in VICA today?
Her damn husband is VICA's poster-child! That is a 100% bonefied conflict if ever there was one!
What the hell did you expect????

Is Cecilia Alatorre related to Richard Alatorre?

Dear Red Spot, Higby and Joe B.
This blog has been one long joke on who the mayor is supporting and not supporting.
The Mayor's office supports, Chris, Paul and Tamar.
Antonio political operatives are working all three campaigns -- Mayor wins no matter who wins.
Unless one of the other 7 take it, then the Mayor loses.

Do you ever even TRY to proofread Red Spooge? It's like reading a child's writing.
Do you do these with a crayon?

The only thing every one agrees with up here in cd2 is, any one but Essel.

I'm in CD2 and I don't agree on "anyone but Essel."
So what was your point again?

The mayor supports Tamar, or they're on the outs because she bit the hand that fed her, whatever. I've heard very little from any of them because they're all too worried about offending anyone from the HOA's or the NC's, even though those people are a small fraction of the voters. And don't represent many other constituencies, so we're seeing a loss of genuine leadership across the city.

The mayor is the one who got Essel to run because he hates Tamar.

Hey we found someone in CD2 supporting Essel (I assume it's not Essel herself).

No its one of her full 5 time body men.

10:20: WTF are body men?
Tamar us biw without any base except for VICA. No mayoral money, 2 mil was a lot, but little NC support except maybe her own community. No ethnic money either -- what is she, Galatzan? is that Persian Jewish? Anyway she doesn't sdem involved in identify politics for better or worse.
Going to the dunking event to scare up support from her peers is a sign of her looking for a few bucks under every rock, those people are mostly not voters. (A forlorn event people went to only out of obligation if they couldn't get out of it, look how hard Cooley and Nooch tried to make it look like anyone wanted to be there. A disgraceful financial boondoggle even if some of the food was donated - costs of cops, cleanup, furniture rentals etc. were still high. Tamar should question such waste.)

What? Tamar did good at VICA? What a coincidence. Hm, I wonder who coached her?
I'm really hoping for a Mary vs Paul runoff.

Wait a minute. I get it now. The poster who said Tamar impressed people at VICA was using humor, as in Tamar's list. Doh.

TAMAR IS MY LAUSD REP, I VOTED FOR HER. BUT I DON'T THINK SHE SHOULD RUN FOR THIS CD 14 SEAT. SHE SHOULD PROVE HERSELF AS A LAUSD BOARDMEMBER SHE HASN'T. IT'S NOT ABOUT JOB JUMPING FOR YOUR CAREER. IT'S ABOUT WORKING WITH THE PEOPLE YOU REPRESENT AND CAUSING POSITIVE CHANGE. AS YET SHE HAS NOT DONE THAT. UNLESS YOU CONSIDER WRITING A LOCAL COLUMN ONCE A MONTH AS A REFERAL. FIX THE SCHOOLS FIRST.
