Spot, you should know better.
The Los Feliz Ledger is a farce. Allison Cohen, owner, editor, and part-time LaBonge mistress, is anything but impartial. She's also in bed with the loonies who are behind 'get rid of the BID'. She's one of those people who cannot stand anyone happier than she is, so she causes as much chaos as she can. LaBonge funnels money to her.
I wouldn't quote the Los Feliz Liar for ANYTHING, EVER. The paper is Allison's weapon she attempts to wield while fooling everyone. Sad for her she is fooling no one.

After he banks some bucks, Bratton's planning on running for VP on the same "Guts, Guns, and . . . OH, Hell, I Quit" ticket as Sara Palin, in 2012.

Actually, 2020's looking better still. It's also tradition now, first with Bush/Cheney and now Obama/Biden, to pick as the person one heartbeat away from the presidency someone who's decades older than the president, and likely to die of old age or a heart attack years before the actual top of the ticket's even eligible for Social Security.
The mayors press/political folks have been hounding the press to show up at the Wendy/Chris press conference.
They are afraid it will be a flop like the Riordan press conference that no press showed up for.
Wendy is as we read at the corner of Laurel Canyon and Moorepark holding an endorsement press conference endorsing Chris Essel.
Problem is she has her former staff with her and is using them a props for background.
Is today a day off for the staff? Are the tax payers paying for ther time at the event?
Is this not something the City Attorney should investigate?
Is this not something the City Controller should look into? should be easy as she is right THERE!

You might be a bit a harsh on Wendy, the problem is on the Essel campaign side.
They have all the money, Wendy, AV and have been smashed up over every fire fight in CD2.
The Wendy endorsement which they have had for months, is being used to keep the ship from sinking.

Doubt the Mayors folks are playing the press. They do all their bidding for Chris behind the scenes.
It would be too risky for them to make press calls.
I have heard the same thing about the Essel campaign.
They are already on their second consultant and Burnside is telling every one she quit.

What a bunch of morons.
According to the L.A. Times Bratton "was lured to the job by Michael Cherkasky, the former federal monitor who until last month oversaw the LAPD as part of a consent decree forced on the department after the Rampart corruption scandal. Cherkasky, a longtime associate of Bratton's, runs the parent company under which Bratton's firm will operate."
Right. So we are actually to believe Cherkasky talked the Police Chief of the second largest city in America out of his glamorous “popular” job. I don’t buy it. This was an inside job. Bratton worked as a consultant under Parks, traveled the world as L.A. chief to consult with other departments on our dollar and now he is leaving because a consultant “lured” him away? Just like other jobs Bratton has had, we, like they, are being used as a stepping-stone by him. One famous departure which comes to mind is the one at the Metropolitan Massachusetts Transit Authority where Bratton left his job at the drop of a hat with one day notice to be Chief of NYC, where he faced controversy because of his arrogance and was pushed around by Guliani until he packed up his tent and went home, resigning from that job as well.
With all due respect to the chief and the men and women in uniform who do an outstanding job of protecting our city – we had great cops before Bratton and we will have great cops after Bratton. The entire Bratton “love-fest” makes me sick! He doesn’t tell the mayor he’s leaving? Nothing fishy with that huh? What about Jackson? What about 1000 Marijuana dispensaries, 80% with unapproved applications and rising crime because of them? 43,000 prisoners being released? Lawsuits against the city? Trutanich says “we can’t arrest ourselves out of the gang problem.” Bratton believed in “operation juggernaut” with widespread sweeps of gang arrests. No money for new cops (1,300 promised), new gadgets and ridiculous uniforms to tell real cops apart from “other cops.” And last but not least...no Jack Weiss for City Attorney?
Bratton says “there is never a good time to leave" - oh really?
I am in the NOHO Chamber of Commerce, a few of our memebers got calls from Wendy's folks last night to show up at the press conference this morning.

And thanks for exposing still another case of Trutanich being a fraud: the quote you attribute to him, "we can't arrest our way out of the gang problem," is one he stole from Bratton. Check today's Times and DN articles and editorials, it crops up more than once, to reflect how he's tough on gangs but (as Father Doyle notes) but wants to help those who genuinely want to escape the gang life.
Trutanich just stole HIS ideas and soundbites and is angry and vengeful that Bratton didn't thank him for it be endorsing him. Unlike the retarded fishwraps who are realizing how duped they were. Too late: the snakes are loose and slither around. Bratton's been around snakes as an occupational hazard long enough to recognize them a mile away.
