All those comments from the same people drive up the ranking. But if you look, it didn't drive up the number of readers. Here's a "per post" ranking. Because not only do comments count toward the ranking, so does the number of posts.

Michael, you could have easily handled this in a Hotsheet. What's next? A commercial break from our sponsor? Who cares?

You're not getting those clicks becuz of michael jackson posts.

Higby what do you say about the fact that one commenter makes?

Are you paid by clickety clicks or by readers?

If it's by the number of readers, or if that's the truer measure, then your 2 millions whatever it is is a bogus concept. Or is it?

Some honesty for a change please.

Who is the single guy in his mom's basement (4:07) constantly criticizing the editorial decisions of this blog? A former MS blogger? Seriously, brother, get a life!

Petra, I'm not against great CD2 coverage, myself. But let's recognize here that there are two dimensions to every race: the people who know a lot and the people who know nothing. The people who know nothing often vote in at least equal numbers to the people who know a lot, and those are the people who are most vulnerable to the political consultants' dirtiest tricks.

As for me, I would love to see more about the political consultants involved in this race, and the money involved in this race. The old guard is really changing and even running a little scared now that they have failed in three straight elections, and now that the developer's son, John Thomas, has been involved in two of them. This is an angle that will be relevant to future elections and indeed the whole city.

SINCE YOUR DOING THIS NONSENCE I WOULD LIKE TO URGE MICHAEL TO REMOVE "ANONYMOUS" AS ENTRY TO THIS SITE. WE KNOW PAID CITY HALL EMPLOYEES USE THIS SITE. IT MAKES SENSE TO HAVE THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE USE A IDENTITY IT COULD BE A LETTER , NUMBER OR ANY MIX, THERE IDENTITY WOULD BE THERE'S AND THEY COULD NOT USE SOMEONE ELSES . THE POINT IS THIS SITE IS FOR EXCHANGES OF IDEAS THIS WOULD KEEP THESE POSTS SO WE ALL WOULD KNOW WHO MADE WHAT COMMENT. THIS "ANONYMOUS TAG" LETS THE SAME PEOPLE OR GROUPS MANIPULATE THIS PROCESS. I THINK IT'S BETTER AND FAIRER THAN WHAT IT IS AND COULD LIMIT SOME ABUSES. PLEASE CONSIDER IT. IF YOU OUT THERE AGREE WITH ME VOICE IT.
