BREAKING NEWS: Young Dems Go Galatzan

The Los Angeles County Young Democrats have endorsed Los Angeles School Board member Tamar Galatzan for LA City Council District 2.

UPDATE: Results as follows: 79% for Tamar Galatzan, 17% for Paul Krekorian, 4% all others/no endorsement.

No surprise, the Young Dems also endorsed Tamar's pick for city attorney and current campaign advisor, Jack Weiss.

As much as the Weiss connection will hurt Galatzan, the Young Dems are the kiss of death to any campaign.

Krekorian looks like the winner here, Tamar and Chris will cat-fight it out, while Paul cruises to victory.

Good for Tamar! She is probably the only candidate that really understands local issues.

"How many votes did Essel get?"

Apparently not more than 4%.

Probably trailed "No endorsement" and "others"

Higby, no votes from the Young Dems might be Chris and Paul's strongest asset. Young Dems are a bunch of losers who talk the talk, and then forget the date of the election.

Tamar is exactly the sort of candidate they like, she does all the talking while they play with their blackberrys. Also, don't forget that Tamar has a really whinny voice - sounds just like a typical west-side wonder woman who's forever on her cell phone yaking with her hair salon or house keeper.

She was on the Kevin James show tonight and I lost count of the number of times she said how proud she was of herself. Egocentric bitch.

They do have a history of endorsing losers(Cedillo, Weiss). Funny thing is that this will probably be the biggest endorsement she gets. Maybe they can help her pay off that huge loan she gave herself.

She's the only one who can cross party boundaries, from these Young Dems to Kevin James who kept saying tonight that he likes her, how she stood upto DWP and was independent on other issues, unafraid to debate.

They don't have any money. She must be the youngest candidate. But they won't do anything - they never do.

Even though I consider Tamar Galatzan to be part of the "Axis of Evil" because of her poisonous relationship with incompetent Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, I was fair enough to go check out her website.

One thing that impressed me was the photo of her wearing a batting helmet and swinging a baseball bat. For some reason, I can't envision a situation where most of the other CD2 candidates would be doing the same thing.

I don't care for Tamar politically, but I respect her toughness. She is definitely a fighter.

I don't think she will win CD 2, mainly because of her connection to the tainted Villaraigosa, but she may have some success after he is out of office and out of peoples thoughts.

first of all, its a run-off. nobody will get 50 +1.
the 'big 3' will split the vote, if they all run. the nobodies will get Jennerjahn results, except Zuma who will surprise again, based on his recognition factor.
(and running for Mayor did not hurt with a respectable 4th).

My honest prediction? Villar will make 'promises' to Krekorian and Galatzen to drop out at some point, so he can crush the opposition of nobodies with his preferred candidate: Essel.
[because Wendy endorsed her, that's a pointer.]

if all three do run, then its a lottery and Zuma might just make the run-off against Krekorian.

I want to see that.

If Krekorian finds himself in a runoff with Zuma his Media Boy's comments will return to haunt. Saying a candidate is wasting tax dollars by running is undemocratic, arrogant AND hypocritical considering Krekorian will cause an expensive Special Election if he wins.

RT @AGsPolitics: And Zuma Dogg qualifed for CD2 also? Does he really need to waste the public's dollars by running? DUDE!

Matt Dowd must be "medicating" himself again. He got off a good wisecrack against me, but my 2,432 votes In the Mayors race were 2,432 more votes than he ever got.

Krekorian is the only one who can crack the 50+1 barrier and end this election outright. Another free-spending , State-bankrupting, ultra liberal in City Hall would only accelerate the destruction of Los Angeles.

thats old news, lets talk about things that matter. In any case, pigs will take flight before Zuma makes the runoff.

tell that to Obama. as Eddie Murphy said "he won??? he fuckin won???"

Zuma is the one everyone vicariously lives through.
Its wayyy more fun to have him in a run-off than anyone else.

and to Phil, you can count your votes against me, but I don't remember ever coming last in anything.

maybe the modesty rankings. not my fault they call me mr perfect y'all.

new videos coming up, I'll mention them. one kkk feature, one Venice Beach Zuma shout out video, and one Matt Dowd band clip.
stand by for that.

This is because she has a "younger" looking website. If I was in my 20's looking at all three websites, the blue and green and rounded edges would appeal to me. So good work for the person who does her site, but that's all she's got. It does, however, read a bit like a kindergarten book, and too bad they can't vote.

THERE'S SOME NEWS YOU POSTED AN ARTICLE ON SOMEONE OTHER THAN PAUL THAT'S A START. TAMAR IS MY LAUSD REP SHE HASN'T DONE A THING. SHE LIKES CHANGING JOBS AND GETTING MORE MONEY. SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN SMARTER TO STAY WHERE SHE IS AND PROVE HER SELF BEFORE JUMPING TO ANOTHER JOB IN HOPE IT WILL MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. SHE WON ELECTION BY 1,000 VOTES DIFFERENCE AGAINST LAURENSEN IN DISTRICT WITH 7,000 VOTES UP FOR GRABS. NOT A LANDSLIDE. WE NEED TO POST CANDIDATES WHO DON'T HAVE THIS MAKE BELIEVE RECOGNITION IT WILL ONLY HAPPEN IF ENOUGH OF YOU VOICE YOUR FEELINGS.

Big deal. Tamar got the Young Dems. She's not a good school board member which makes me think she won't be a good council member.

I agree with Matt Dowd on this thread. I am inking in the name of Zuma Dogg. I feel that he is the only one I can trust. Honestly and truly trust. I think he'll definitely and without a doubt, do the best job in CD 2 and nobody would regret it.

Of course Tamar got the endorsement from LACYD. She was a long-time member of this organization, as I was...

I don't think she has much of a chance in this CD2 race, however.. Once her opponents try to connect her to her husband's support for that terrible Home Depot, no one in their right mind will back her.

Frankly, it's rather sad how things have developed for some of those LACYDers who were in the club when I was... Caprice Young's being bounced from the LAUSD after doing a terrible job there; Mark Dierking and the issues with the Children's Museum that have been documented ad nauseum by the Daily News; Evelyn Jerome and Alan Steinberg who were recently indicted for allegedly having attempted to bribe a judicial candidate to drop out of the race in favor of their client judicial candidate; Brendan Huffman who was supporting that monstrous Home Depot situation, and now Tamar Galatzan who will be leaving her LAUSD parent supporters and their children in the lurch...There are others, too, but you get the idea.

My God, I hope that the current crop of LACYDers has better luck and sense in the political arena than have those that were around when I was there....

I agree she is not effective school board member so doubtful she would be a good city council. She has been very unsuccessful in getting any funding for non title 1 schools leaving the voting members of those communities very angry with her. If she can not win against A.J.DUFFY how will she fair against city foes.

"These school board members have given up their responsibility to fix public education," said A.J. Duffy, president of United Teachers Los Angeles.
