The Mayor must have heard Zuma Dogg on Jim Alger's radio show. They tag teamed the Mayor for making the city look like a vagabond instead of the world-class tourist attraction we should be.

2:16 so blame that idiot Zine and his sidekick blowhard Trutanich for making AEG and the whole business community furious by blaming and badmouthing them all over the media, treating them like Bernie Madoff or one of Trutanich's criminal corporate criminal clients, instead of like what they are -- a company that ponied up for the Lakers, has abided by the law. If they didn't like the deal they should have said so upfront and negotiated in a civilized manner, not like this.
Zine and Trutanich knew MORE about the impending memorial and funeral than anyone except Jan Perry, the acting mayor. Idiot Zine is on public safety committee and second in command after Perry as 2nd Pro Tem, but then he and sidekick Trutanich grandstand for personal P R pointing fingers at "the city." Which becomes Jan Perry and the Mayor's office when Zine tells it to talk radio.
If you want to know who's making the city look bad by grandstanding look to Zine Dogg. With his buddy Trutanich stupidly saying that the LAPD deployment "cost $10,000 per person since there were only 2500 people outside Staples, and they cost the city $2.5 million" being the kind of moronic theatre that is NOT READY for PRIME TIME. Zine doesn't care how low he is, he's shown that over and over with his remarks on-air, but bad start for Trutanich. He's not playing in the bush leagues of down-and-dirty San Pedro where anything goes.
His and Zine having gotten the worldwide attention they sought in NOT a good way for the city makes us look cheezy to the world and has made us seem stupidly unfriendly to ALL business. And they claim Democrats are driving away business?
They both tried to take advantage of the mayor's being out of town to look good to the masses but made themselves, the city and all their colleagues especially Perry look bad instead.
Funny how Janice Hahn is speaking out with an opposing view to Zine and Trutanich, maybe to show they can't control her like they hope and clearly expected to?

Not sure the Mayor listened to, or cared about, Alger's show or Zuma's appearance, but the city looked pretty damn pathetic.
We are supposed to be the entertainment capitol of the world and these idiots reduced us to looking like Bismark North Dakota.
Since Zine and Perry are so concerned about costs, they can surrender half their salary, their vehicle, and ban fee waivers in their districts.
It will never happen.

LA hasn't been a world-class city for years, particularly since Villar has been in office. No City is world class that can support millions of illegal aliens without providing basic City services to taxpaying citizens. The Mayor's arrogance in frittering away taxpayer monies on dead celebrities, millionaire athletes and corporate beggars that feast on taxpayer subsidies for Staples and LA LIVE just shows out of touch he is with the average working citizens. He should have stayed in South Africa with Lu Parker.

Rick Orlov's Tipoff says that stupid P R hogging from Perry, Zine is the start of their Campaigns 2013 for Mayor, LOL. Zine and Trutanich's buffoonish blowharding is to position themselves as the "fiscally conservative" ones who save the city as some dumb people are accepting. Saving the city by making us look like cheezy cheapeskates like all three are doing, by making villains out of major companies like Zine/Trutanich are doing? Could you imagine any of them or Janice Hahn as Mayor?

4:52PM Hats off to you!
-- How the mayor can justify the taxpayer to pay for the Jackson Memorial is something I'd like to see. If the city is responsible for public safety during an event like the Jackson Memorial (which I know it is) then why was there no permit?
Some may ask, who needs a permit for a show inside Staples? Well, the answer is that the rights to the Memorial will be sold...for a lot of money. Filming of the crowd and procession, media and police presence will be part of that footage. This therefore warrants a permit. There was no permit. AEG must pay up at least some portion!
For taxpayers to foot the bill is an absolute abuse of power. A complete double standards when we compare it to the situation with the Lakers. The Lakers must be wondering if we are worthy and worth their effort for winning the championship.
L.A.P.D. was over deployed and we have yet to find out who signed off on that kind of deployment. There are unanswered questions here.
In my opinion, if we ever had a reason to declare a serious reason for a recall, we have one now. How totally and utterly appalling! The people being laid off and furloughed must be furious. The mayor's attitude is they can just go and pound sand?; even though we have a fiscal emergency? Unbelievable!

With 80% of voters reporting that they support the idea of the Jackson family and AEG paying for their use of our services, and the costs exceeding the $2M Lakers parade, it's no wonder that the sore loser democrats are bitching again.
The Mayor's announcement today is interesting. He's not going to do any "shared sacrifice" with AEG or the Jacksons - they get to keep all the money they made from selling the tv rights, and vip boxes, not to mention the deal they did with BET for future promotion.
The Mayor's idea of "shared sacrifice' is the we, the taxpayers, share the sacrifice while AEG shares the cost of the Mayor's South African vacation.
It's make or break for the Mayor. If he gets away with this, there's no stopping him. The weak bladdered clowncil are probably breathing a sigh of relief that the Mayor has returned from his vacation to remove the hard choice from them, and Trutanich and his team must be wondering whether there's any point trying to make the city act responsibly. I hope Trutanich, Zine and Greuel keep up the pressure and prevent the Mayor from squandering more money.

Pertaining to this and many other comment areas on MS, is there a single individual who's continually spitting on Zine and Trutanich, or is this a Villaraigosa media tactic, or what? It's pathetic.
Anonymous said:
9:37PM, there's been a lot of very similar anti Zine/Trutanich comments, and it's most likely the same small group of sore losers who just cannot get over the fact that they failed to fool us with Jack Weiss. Actually, now that I think about it, it's not they couldn't fool us, it's that they couldn't fool democrats who saw Weiss as the low watermark in ethics.
They've even tried posting remarks like Weiss was "Swift-boated," and out-spent. Weiss determined his own downfall with his wacko-Jacko illegal fundraiser hosted by Kelly Candaele (they claim that's a lie) and with his poor choice in hiring Ace Smith as his manager.
Anytime you see this desperate democrat bullshit, shoot it down.

"spitting on Zine?" Zine does the spitting and behaves like a low-life and buffoon almost every time he opens his mouth and so does Trutanich already -- but of course we can't criticize them, just listen to the slime directed FROM Zine and the rightwing screamers? you people are pathetically transparent in your style -- you'd love to become dictators and shut up the opposition and go so far as to threaten people, but too bad democracy and free speech works both ways. People are onto you. LOTS of people, lots of commenters all over the place. Even many Kool-Aid drinkers have woken up.

I agree. Someone is trolling on Zine and Nuch.
Anonymous said:
Give me a break. If you ever try to speak to some of the councilmembers, Zine is one of the very few who you can go up to and at least talk to and explain your concerns.
Try going up to Jose Huizar or Ed Reyes with a problem that isn't Latino based. Try going up to Janice Hahn and asking something without having to kiss her father's or brother's ass.
Zine is at least willing to talk with you. I won't even get into the aloof Villaraigosa and all of his staff's aloofness.
Anonymous said:
Believe it or not there are a lot of us who weren't initially Trutanich supporters. But now that he's speaking up for the people we're on board. Zien is grandstanding because he wants to be Mayor and that will happen when hell freezes over.

It looks like the Kool-Aid drinkers of Los Angeles are finally waking up.
Villaraigosa is becoming increasingly despised... as he should be. His policies and politics are idiotic. His loud booing at the Laker parade and Kobe's obvious disrespect were clear warning signs.
93 staffers and a budget half a billion in the red.
His political career is going down in flames.
The man who once dreamed about maybe being President will be lucky to ever win another election.
And yes ... that includes any potential elections for "dogcatcher".

7:58 a.m., you're just proving what 11:11 says, once again. Your utter lack of self-swareness would be funny if it weren't so appalling. You people spew the worst nastiness nonstop on your wacko radioshows and blogs about the likes of Antonio, Huizar, and Zine never said WEiss's name without prefacing it with "Jackass" which you all did and WORSE, I can't believe some of the stuff I've heard, and THAT is from an elected official. He acts so vulgar and offensively that he'd be kicked out of any school, certainly the Catholic schools I went to or ever heard of. While he pretends to be some sort of crusading evil-vanquishing hero?
Like him or hate him, tell me when Antonio or any others have said anything like that about any other elected official or anyone, certainly in public? You can't, but if they said anything once, you'd be all outraged with "how dare they? That's for US to do to them!" But I'm glad because the more you're showing yourselves the more people are being disgusted.
Sadly this is polarizing the city between foul-mouthed vindictive wingnuts and the rest, but that's your doing.
We need a whole new crop of positive people but why would anyone want to be a city official and put up this crap from you all? Unless it's some rightwing nutcase you elect yourselves.
Anonymous said:
10:07, please stop 'trolling 5150'. Talking about yourself at 11:11 is scary. Hey - council is about to start! Why don't you jump on CouncilPhone and listen to our elected officials in action live! They get paid $180,000 a year and yet they still don't have a quorum. Your tax dollars at work.
