Councilman Jose Huizar's $75,000 Reward Sparks Speculation
" Councilman Huizar's True Motives ??"Speculation is running rampant in CD-14 on the reasoning behind Councilman Jose Huizar issuing of this $75,000 reward, as stated in "Jose's Blog".
Lots of things have happened since my last blog post.
Most urgently, I want to encourage anyone with information regarding the brutal murders of Felipe Villareal (42) and Rafael Padilla (57) to please come forward and talk to the Hollenbeck Police.
These two hard working family men were gruesomely shot and killed in the community of Boyle Heights on June 15th at 3:00am on the 3400 block of 1st St.
We need the public to come forward and help.
I introduced a motion in Council this past week for a $75,000 reward for any information that can help detectives solve this double homicide.Your identity can be kept anonymous.
We need to protect our community, the health and safety of local residents; and we need to make sure our communities are not terrorized by random acts of violence that separate families.

Our prayers go out to the families of the murder victims.
But our collective eye brows were raised here with this comment.
Here is another bullshit move from Huizar. Several weeks ago there were two homicides on the eastside and a $75,000 reward was initiated at City Council by Jose Huizar for one of the victims who happened to be the boyfriend of Huizar's mother?
Now all of this is only speculation, but enough people within "the know" in CD-14 have lend credence to this. They go on further to describe the "Cantina Culture" in CD-14 in which this double murder took place. This culture can be equated to the drunken culture in the movie "Bar Fly" starring Faye Dunaway and Mickey Rourke and when you add machismo to alcohol, tragedy can result.
The questions that Councilman Jose Huizar should answer are,
First, in the spirit of openness and transparency, did anyone in Councilman Huizar's Family have any relationship with either victims in this double murder ??
Second, explain the haste in securing approval for this reward and how this case is different from other murders in CD-14 that do not qualify for rewards ??
Third, if the first question is yes, how can Councilman Huizar defend himself from critics who will attack him for using public money for a personal, family reason ??
Once again we pray for the families in this tragedy and in all other tragic murders that have taken place recently in CD-14
But we call upon Councilman Huizar to answer the questions above in the spirit of openness.

This is nothing compared to the corruption going on all over CD 14. Too bad we can't rely on our reporters to do any stories on this stuff and thanks for sites like this and others for pointing them out. Huizar is beyond arrogant but very stupid. I say its only a matter of time it all catches up to him. Too many of his ex staffers are so fed up with him they're now spilling their guts

One of them must know, or be related to, the guilty party, and a $75,000 reward could save him some severence pay.

While I think Huizar is sadly a case of the affirmative action Latino who goes to an Ivy league school on full scholarship because his parents were illegal immigrants so it's PC, it IS a new low to suggest his staffers may be cashing in on the award from some sort of inside information!!!
What next, accusing his staffers of setting up a hit to collect? Or paying gangbangers who are going to hit someone for info so they can get the reward money?
And so what if one of the victims is his mother's boyfriend, why is that less worthy of being solved? What surprised me though is that his mother has a boyfriend at all, just hope he wasn't involved in something shady.
If these victims were illegals who spent their days hanging at Home Depot and getting into barfights and not ordinary "hard working" guys as he claims there would be a lot less public sentiment to offer this reward, is he lying? But anyway few rewards are collected. A study published in Daily News showed a very small percent are.
Unless of course Spot is right and his staff are now rigging it to get the rewards themselves. Dumb.
Alls I know is Huizar's field staff is KILLING the concept of "constituent SERVICE" (unless by that you mean rolling residents up in little balls and HITTING them across the net with a tennis racket).

Wait a minute. Before any reward is offered, it has to come from the police dept. at their request. A city councilmember cannot offer a reward simply because he chooses to.
What you are alleging here is that the Hollenbeck Division, along with Detective A. Negrete and Officer R. Chavarria are part of some kind of coerced agreement with Huizar? Do you realize how stupid that sounds?

I am extremely offended by this post. As a person who has lost a loving grandfather to a petty carjacking this post is beyond offensive. My grandfather was a hard working man and and was gunned down by a pathetic excuse for a human being when I was seven years old simply because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Moreover, my older sister and I were inside the car when it happened and watched him die.
Do you really believe these men in their late years of 42 and 57 were out looking for trouble? A reward was offerred to apprehend the killer of my grandfather since there were no leads. That's why rewards are offerred in the first place.
Whoever decided to post this disgusting piece of garbage is a worthless human being in my book. Im a young woman sitting in my living room talking to my boss (soon to be Councilmember. I get up to get a drink of water, upon my return i am meet with a disgusting and very much disturbing picture. Its my boss (soon to be Councilmember)sitting on my couch, with his pants pulled down to the ground and his little man tool standing at attention. "As if i would stoop so low!" I can honestly our relationship was never the same.
I just wonder how many more of these stories are out, only time will tell. You fill in the blanks on who you think the main characters are.

If this is being paid for by tax dollars of residents who live in the community then it should be open and transparent. I called Huizar's office the other day to complain about some kids being thrown out of a recreation center because they ran out of lunches. Running out of lunches is a perfect excuse to stop but being rude while kicking the kids out is another thing - especially when no more than five feet away those fortunate few that got lunches were eating in plain sight.
I don't have kids of my own but felt for these kids who just stayed and watched the other kids eat their lunches.
I called Huizar's office in downtown and they referred me to a district office. Upon getting no answer at the district office I called downtown again and was informed by one Pauline that they didn't take complaints at the downtown office.
My intent was to have Huizar's office call the parks and rec office and have them show a little courtesy. But how is this possible when Huizar's staffers seem to be lacking these same courtesy skills.
Is it any wonder there isn't any public sympathy for the upcoming city employee layoffs? Say what you will about Pacheco but this never happened under his tenure.

The time was 11:50 - well within the 11:30 to 12:30 timeline.
The person I spoke to at Huizar's downtown office was Eva Camacho who said they didn't take complaints at that office and transferred me to the Norhteast District office where no one answered, perhaps because they were busy eating their lunch.
The park directors name was Angela Bagmanian.

Omce again, study your history. The most appalling thing about the Europeans when they came in contact with the indigenous population was their stench. What was the average bath rate at the time in Europe, once a year ( and judging by my last trip to Europe this rate probably still stands). It is no wonder the bubonic plague practically wiped European population off the planet.
By contrast Tenochtitlan was a very clean city, Aztecs traditionally bathed every day and they even had steam baths to get rid of that deep down filth. While Europeans were drenching themselves in perfume to cover their smell, the civilizations in the new world were perfecting indoor plumbing, even going as far as inveting tooth brushes and tooth paste.
So if Mexico leaves a bad taste to you now, thank your European ancestors for tainting this paradise.

Dear Ms Foxy, is not only Mr Hunt that has been slam at City Council. Look at the record. Items that are approved with the excuse they have been heard at another hearing. Interesting that Huizar identifies those individuals killed as family men, so why was his mother dating one of them? Huizar is no different than AV, just not as smart.
Hi Rita, Indigenous people in California had already been pushed out to Indian reservations by the Spanish (Spanish are also Europeans), although some Europeans came through Mexico, they were still Europeans. Many Germans, Russians, an Asian also came through Mexico and travel North. This European spoke Spanish too, and when the Land Grants were due to the USA government in California, all notice were written in English, and as you can imagine the people in California spoke Spanish only at that time. Unknown to the Spanish Land Owner in California lost their land. Only those afluent families that Spain had awarded the land to them had documentation to prove ownership. However, had no boundaries on the documents.
The Family men Shot in Boyle Heights, which a $75,000 award has been offered by Huizar. Where frequent visitors at this bars, and also El Mercado. The community seem to have no idea why they were killed.
Oscar's Bar has history of problems, under age drinking and probably many other problems, it had been shut down for violations, maybe they need to look at the owner of the bar.

I've spent the last year living with Huizar's lies, corruption, and, his disgusting manipulation of the LAPD and City Attorney's Office. This man can pull strings clear across town.
