Ace Smith Screws the Pooch

Jack Weiss' campaign is once again not being very honest. According to The Times:

Los Angeles city attorney candidate Jack Weiss’ campaign placed its own flattering headline Tuesday over a Los Angeles Times story posted on the campaign website, making it appear that the paper had declared Weiss the winner of the debate.

Weiss said the headline was a summary based on other news reports and blog postings.

Question for you Ace - and please no phone calls from you know who - what bloggers said Jack Weiss won the debate? Huh? I'm hearing crickets

8:14pm,

Here we go again. No one believes you are just some random dude who stumbled up this website.

And for the record, 8:16 PM IS NOT trying to be michael trujillo, but making a commentaty that they think 8:14 PM IS, with the same old tired leading introductions, like, "I'm not a fur wearer, but I am against people who do not wear fur."

So thanks for the chuckle, 8:16 PM, and the REAL Truthjillo is getting like Rainman, five minutes to Wapner probably demanding the fake name be taken down, as he should. I wouldn't like someone fake posting my name. And your average reader would think it's him, I'm sure.

ANYWAY, enough on that. This isn't Zuma Dogg, and I didn't just get an email from the True09 people, which happens to be one letter off, from the Tru09 people.

I attended the debate. But, instead of trusting my impression of the debate, one can view videos of the debate by directing one's browser to:

http://www.citywatchla.com/content/view/2167/

Personally, I'm not that favorably impressed by either candidate concerning their qualifications to be City Attorney.

That said, it appears to me that Trutanich has done a far better job as a private attorney than Weiss has as City Councilmember. As a Council District 5 constituent, I know Weiss has done a horrible job as a Councilmember.

After viewing the videos, you may be very hard-pressed to recall Weiss actually detailing a significant achievement for which he has been responsible as a Councilmember. And he's had 8 years to do something.

Repeatedly rudely ignoring his Council District 5 constituents?

Repeatedly ignoring constituents in general and being partly responsible for a successful suit AGAINST the City in which the California Court ordered the City Council to desist ignoring people appearing before the Council under certain circumstances?

Unsuccessfully trying to foist the Measure B boondoggle on the City as the City is heading into a financial Armageddon?

Unsuccessfully trying to ram a one-way traffic on Pico/Olympic Boulevards plan without an EIR, thereby wasting City money after a Court shot down that nonsense?

Taking laundered money from Casden Properties in 2001 and never providing reimbursement with respect to that laundered money or related City matching funds?

Other than occasionally talk a good game, what has Weiss actually done to be reelected as a Councilmember, let alone be elected as the City Attorney?

what he's done is skip dozens of council meetings so he can pursue camapign donations which he'll use to bombard the public with Bratton ads.
and since all the agenda items are fixed already ahead of the council meeting, there really is no ACTUAL need for him to be there.
so that's what he's done.

I don't know what Screws the Pooch means.

Well -- I just watched all 4 of the videos from City Watch. As much as I hate to say it, Jack Weiss won the debate handily.

Say hello to your new City Attorney - Jack Weiss!

Why wouldn't the Tru guy just answer Weiss's question about who his clients were?

Both of them need to expand on their CEQA views, although that's probably over the heads of most of the Mayor Sam readers.

When it comes to billboards, are they both on the same page? It seemed that way to me.

Bullshit that Trutanich's partner is the one in the office who represents the NRA and all those gun manufacturers and stores who sell them. I really hate when someone tries to bullshit me. That is just the lowest form of disrespect. How condescending. Trutanich clearly thought the audience wasn't bright enough to get it.

Where are all those UCLA students that were supposedly brought in to fake-support Weiss? I seem to have missed them.

I see Jose Aguilar with his Trutanich sign. I'm shocked and disappointed. Words can't express how I feel about that.

lol

Yep, I think Weiss is the guy.

I'm going to push for him now and I'm going to influence as many voters as I possibly can between now and then.

Dennis Zine sitting there was enough to make me vote for Weiss.

Anyone who attended and there were at least 100 not including the UCLA kids with signs Weiss brought in Trutanich hands down won the debate. All Weiss did was attack attack and that's how Ace "Hatchet Man" Smith runs his campaigns. Dumb ass Weiss is listening to him and its backfiring. Trutanich has experience putting away hard core gang bangers. He has more experience in a court room then Weiss. Weiss is like Antonio when it comes to people they disagree with or who differ in opinion just like his groupies on this blog. They attack and criticize instead of stating their record. Neither Weiss or Antonio have a record to speak of.

Trujillo has to redeem himself fast after the Measure B debacle so he's blogging away again to get the Weissistas off their asses. They think it's in the bag.

He's also doing this pro bono as part of his pennance.

The Times gives the Weiss link as jackweiss.blogspot.com

Poster has it wrong, so he can't be a paid operative or else they should get their money back.

Tru's website however has a post from something called California Leader whatever from February claiming he's the frontrunner and that he and Berger were 1-2 in the polls.

Hey, let's have Antonio Villaraigosa stand next to Weiss and continue to say: "Helluva job, Jackie, helluva job."

That's the best thing for Nuch -- keeping the Mayor in the same picture with Weiss.

The head of the police union wants to elect his own chief who will do what he wants. Even the Times has an editorial calling them "cynical and corrupt." March 31st. I don't believe it applies to the rank and file, just its head who wants to control Chief Bratton and can't. My cousin is a cop and lots of them don't like him and feel their voices aren't heard.
