Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

Rick Orlov says that the Mayor is concerned about his image as he gears up to run for Governor so he's been showing up on time the last few days. In the meantime the Mayor is once again off on another junket to Washington, D.C. armed with a $6.8 billion wish list for Federal earmarks for Los Angeles.

Yet another fishwrap shows its lack of understanding of the LA poltical scene with the headline, "After Easy Reelection Win, Mayor Villaraigosa’s Run for ‘Gov’ Likely." Easy?

I thought he was headed to France? Walter Moore over at CityWatch kvetching about his election loss and his lack of media coverage.  That's been discussed.  Joseph Mailander had some of the best pieces charting how the local fishwraps failed to cover the election.  They didn't.  It sucked.  Move on.

On the heels of the Zuma Dogg video of Monica Garcia, LAist captures an LA Department of Transportation officer driving official parking enforcement city vehicle #01522 while talking on her cell phone.

Speaking of Zuma Dogg has he perhaps parlayed his notoriety into a potenial commercial spokesman career? A limousine company offered Zuma a job as a commercial pithcman directly on the Dogg's blog.  A Zuma Dogg move from politician to commercial pitchman would not be unprecedented. Geraldine Ferraro, Mario Cuomo, Tip O'Neill and others all went on to star in TV commercials following their political careers. Also: Zuma issues a statement on his blogging and political future.

The Lincoln High blog takes us to task for one article, agrees with us on another and gives a spot on analysis of some your favorite Mayor Sam dum dums.

Notes from Los Angeles has a delicious photo of a cornucopia of salsas at Cactus Taqueria in Hollywood.  Had Walter Moore been elected Mayor would this turn into a salad bar with thousand island and ranch dressing?

Walter needs a political wake up call. He didn't get the coverage he wanted because he had so little to say. The media is happy to cover anything that is newsworthy, but he, or anyone else, repeating their campaign rhetoric over and over again is not newsworthy. I certainly don't turn on the news to hear it.

Walter had four years to build a grassroots organization, to generate news coverage through exciting new ideas that resonated with people, to impress potential donors, but he did none of those.

That's why he was guaranteed to lose. It wouldn't have made a difference if he had the media coverage he wanted. He and the other also-rans had nothing to offer the voters.

Looks like Higby is editing out posts that disagree with him.

On the one hand, Higby criticizes walter moore, saying that he should get over the election. On the other hand, all Higby does is blab, blab, blab about Zuma Dogg.

And when you are a poster who disagrees with Higby, then he randomly won't post your comments, even if they're clean.

Yes it was an easy win, Mayor Sam.

Villaraigosa came in first place, and the nearest contender had 30 percentage points fewer.

That, sweetie, is an easy win. It should have been easIER, but it was still easy. And he didn't even have to show up to debate.

A pol who wins by 30 percentage points, and doesn't have to debate, is having a very easy time. He was worried about NO other candidate and glided to victory.

Hate him if you want, but it was an easy win.

Oh, I get it. Higby is saying that 30 points between first and second place isn't "easy."

That's right. It was just insanely easier than four years ago, when there was legitimate competition.

9:27am another Antonio spinner or Ace again. Isn't it funny that this blog never really had any positive posts on the gang banger Mayor now all of a sudden they're coming on posting bullshit. The Mayor has to do more to change his loser imagine then show up on time for a photo op. He's in Washington AGAIn but this time with Huizar, Weazy, Monica Garcia, Garcetti, Greuel, Bratton and the whole political change of the LA Chamber. gossip in political corners are saying a particular group is investigating all the money laundering money the LA Slimes reported last week out of Florida. More names to hit the fan soon.

No, I actually dislike Antonio. I don't think Ace Smith would post that in order to make a point.

I voted for one of the other candidates but have concluded that 30 percentage points between Win and Place is enormous.

That's what Ace Smith predicted, and that's what turned out to happen. HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Zooma is now claiming that 10,000 people voted for him.

The clerk's office still has him in the 7,000 range. Zooma thinks that of the remaining untallied vote, his total is going up by 50%

What say you, o great Mayor Sam? Your boy is claiming 10,000 votes. Care to spin that for us?

If Mayor V. makes a serious effort to become Governor V., and thereby return to Sacramento, will it unearth some long-sleeping ghosts from his earlier "party boy" days in this state's sleepytown capitol.

I hear rumblings... could we see "The REVENGE of 'Sacramento Nighties?'"

That could be an interesting sequel. Rated NC-17, I think.

Poor Ace Smith has his work cut out.

Whittier News
Some oddsmakers say he (Antonio)is a dark horse in a race that likely will include Attorney General and former Gov. Jerry Brown and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Villaraigosa used the CNN platform today to beat the drum for President Obama's economic stimulus package.

"I'd like to see the money get on the ground as quickly as possible," Villaraigosa said. "We have to also, with federal money, (have) accountability, transparency, you know, regulations or guidelines - formulas for how they will disburse that money. That's going to happen."

What a hypocrite. He doesn't even have transparency here in Los Angeles with the money.

Mayor Sam, how many votes did zooma dogg get? Last we heard, it was 7,000 but zd is saying it's 10,000.

I have been saying that after the 46,000 additional ballot have been counted, I'll be at around 10,000 votes. AROUND! However, not all of the 46,000 will qualify, because the clerks office has been verifying them since election day.

So there probably won't be enough ballots to send me over the 10,000 mark unless they really go very heavy in my favor. BUT, it should hopefully be around 10,000. And when the final votes are counted, I will use that number from there on in.

so if you know that you're not going to come near 10000 votes, zuma dogg, why are you going around telling everyone that?

what would it mean? so you can tell everyone that you came in 18th place instead of 19th place?

why are you still trolling around city hall? it is one thing to be screwing up city council, but it's another thing to bounce around from location to location before and afterward.

Higby, would you please just put up posts where the blogger talks about the story you posted? We can do without the person who makes 4000 insults of you and Zuma Dogg. They never have anything to say. Feel free to delete their posts.

Time to start asking; Don't the voters in CD 2 deserve an opportunity to vote for their next city council member? Given the advantage an incumbent has over all challengers, now is the time to act.

Let Us Vote in CD2!

Mayor Sam,

What is ZD talking about in this post on his blog? What is he referring to with the 3am/4am comments?

It's one of those day I talk about: I was out of money yesterday, stuck sitting in my car, mostly talking on the phone and only two hours on the computer all day, from the library. (There is a two hour limit per day at the library.) And once again, I was up in the 3am hour, 4am hour and have been up since the 7am hour and I really, really have to get off the street 24/7.

It's all about percentages. The percentages are that about 97% of the voters voted no-confidence in Saltsburg.

97% y'all is a lot of no-confidence. That speaks real loud y'all.

It's interesting that you even care enough to ask Mayor Sam for a clarification like a kindergardener asking the librarian what she means while reading a kindergarden book.

If you don't get it...do you really care enough to take the time to find out? I guess so? Meanwhile, always flattered by your loserness.
