Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday
Perhaps like Walter Moore's rumored move to France some of his supporters may be considering doing the same. Valley Doll finds a Walter Moore supporter in Porter Ranch who may perhaps be planning to sell their home as well. This on the heels of an LA Times report that the Chatsworth-Northridge based Council District 12 was the only one citywide to cast more votes for Moore than Villaraigosa.
Back last July when the Mayor was off on another one of his junkets the LA Times brought to light how the City had done nothing to combat illegal trash dumping in South Los Angeles. Seven months later, the dumping continues. South LA resident Jose Vargas told The Times "People know they can get away with it."
The Mayor didn't deny reports that he plans to run for governor when appearing on a news show Sunday on CNN. Villaraigosa boasted to host John King "We won overwhelmingly." We'll try to figure out how he only got 55% of the vote in an election without, as the LA Times says, "any serious challengers."
Zuma Dogg claims that he caught on video recently re-elected School Board President Monica Garcia parking her LAUSD provided vehicle in a red zone while picking up dry cleaning and that then Garcia drove off while talking on her cell phone. Also atValley of the Dolls. Beckford Parents Blog

Speaking of how utterly screwed up LAUSD is, Steve Lopez in the LA Times writes about how parents at his child's public school are regularly hit to volunteer and provide hundreds if not thousands of dollars to make up for funding shortfalls. At the same time the School District passes additional bonds and new taxes and it can't make the thing work. Perhaps these parents' groups that raise funds should follow the example of Valley Doll as well as Sunland Tujunga's Lydia Grant and their efforts to encourage parents to become politically active and hold their elected leaders accountable.
A Metroblogging writer and some readers point out the folly of the DWP's free CFL light bulb program - they haven't got their light bulbs yet. You may remember the DWP is spending millions to hire people to walk door to door and pass out the lightbulbs. We still don't know why DWP General Manager David "E WASTEWATER PLURIBUS" Nahai didn't figure out it would be cheaper and more efficient to put a coupon for the bulbs in ratepayers' bills that they could take to local retail stores.
15,000 citizens in Fullerton turned out Saturday for a "Tea Party" protest against tax increases sought by both the state and federal government. At the same time writer Tom Blumber of Newsbusters.org says that media coverage of similar protests nationwide - which appear to be growing - has been near nil.
California is now one hour ahead of Tijuana following the shift to Daylight Saving Time Sunday morning. Last year, the US and Canada decided to extend DST by one month however Mexico chose to remain on the traditional schedule and will "spring forward" on the first Sunday in April. Mayor Sam congrats. In a conversation it was mentioned the Mayor and his people are definitely afraid of what's being posted on this blog and monitoring. The governor race is too important.Don't you get over 100,000 hits? All the news stories on the Mayor election has been negative. Not one positive story reported and they're all making fun of the onlu 55%. Per Rick Orlov the Mayor is headed to Washington red eye tonight with Huizar, Greuel, Monica Garcia Garcetti.

USA Today
Illegal immigrants might get stimulus jobs, experts say
LOS ANGELES — Tens of thousands of jobs created by the economic stimulus law could end up filled by illegal immigrants, particularly in big states such as California where undocumented workers are heavily represented in construction, experts on both sides of the issue say.
Studies by two conservative think tanks estimate immigrants in the United States illegally could take 300,000 construction jobs, or 15% of the 2 million jobs that new taxpayer-financed projects are predicted to create.
They fault Congress for failing to require that employers certify legal immigration status of workers before hiring by using a Department of Homeland Security program called E-Verify. The program allows employers to check the validity of Social Security numbers provided by new hires. It is available to employers on a voluntary basis.

trThank You, for mentioning the school issues.
It's not just about Parents becoming Politically Active and holding the Leadership Accountable.
The Communities are where the "Power" is hiding.
It has been an uphill battle to get people to understand that the
School District is holding all of our Property Values, Hostage.
We pay the Taxes that support the Schools and help to pay the Politicians. Whether we have children in the schools, or not.
Yet, "We" allow them to provide a
Sub-Standard Education and in many cases an unsafe school, which spills over into the Communities.
What do people ask when they go to purchase a home?
"How good are the local schools?"
What if the honest response was....
Our Elementary Schools are fine,
but our Middle School is dangerous.
and the High School, Well I don't
like that they cover up crimes, and no matter how often we try to get help from the District, they just Blow us Off.
Why were you thinking of moving here?
Maybe, it's better to answer like
the District would.
"The School's are Great and Improving".
Of Course, they may not be talking about your Schools but you wouldn't
know. Would you?
I have been asked to bring together
N.C. Education Representatives, LAUSD Parents, and Community Leaders, to get "Real" support for our schools.
Would you attend?

ZOOMA DOGG, HERE IS PROOF THAT YOU SAID YOU'D NOW LEAVE US ALONE:
FROM YOUR OWN BLOG:
"The three year free show is over, kiddies. I gotta get my life back on track and deal with the wreckage of my life that I have left behind as I kept on the blinders and ran with the bridge burning behind me.
So again...please understand that I am trying to get back to a real life, and if I am still spending time returning everyone's phone calls, then that is not getting back to life. I did my time...I put in my service at city hall and in the community...so I'll catch up with all of y'all later. ZD"
HERE IS SOME MORE FROM YOUR OWN BLOG
"So the Zuma Dogg "fraud, waste and abuse" ticker-tape of activism, showing up
to each meeting, commenting on agenda items throughout the meeting are OVER, because they HAVE to be over..."
ZOOMA DOGG, IF YOU'RE UNABLE TO GIVE UP THE LIMELIGHT, THEN JUST SAY SO. BUT DON'T MAKE FALSE PROMISES ONE DAY ONLY TO BREAK THEM THE NEXT DAY.
YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A FOOL.
THAT IS A ROLE YOU'RE ACCUSTOMED TO. SO GROW UP, PACK IT IN, AND MOVE BACK TO CLEVELAND. RUN FOR MAYOR OF DAYTON OHIO. JERRY SPRINGER, ANOTHER FREAK, STARTED OUT AS CINCINNATI MAYOR. SOMEDAY YOU CAN MAKE A FORTUNE BEING THE TOWN FOOL.

Can someone explained how he is declared "the winner", and ballots are still being counted?

I never said I was no longer going to come to city hall. I said that I hope you see me less at city hall.
you have really bad reading comprehension skills. I think you read something and see what you want to see; or see what you want to spin.
When I say, "if I am still spending time returning everyone's phone calls, then that is not getting back to life. I did my time...I put in my service at city hall and in the community...so I'll catch up with all of y'all later. ZD"
That means that more people are calling me that I can spend time returning the calls unless i want to be a professional phone call returner...but that does not mean i will stop being zuma dogg and saying what "I" want, when I want.
I was spending a lot of time saying things OTHER people wanted me to say on THEIR behalf. So basically, I can't carry that water, for now.
So I'll show up and say what I want to say, when I want to say it. I am going to move away from the day to day ticker tape of fraud, waste and abuse (it has all been reported on LA Daily Blog) and will be moving to more faith-based, personal messages and offering solutions to situations, as I see it. As opposed to reporting on all the agenda items.
Sorry you may or may not like it. I'm just a regular Joe. Just one guy, just like anyone else in the city. What's your problem? Why are you even concerned, loser?

It's official. Zooma Dogg is back on the city hall beat FULL TIME.
Whether you explicitly said it or not, Zooma, let's face it, you're in.
My only request is that you don't do it half-assed. Do it full-assed, like you always do.
The "spell" that you said was broken; what did that mean? That doesn't sound like what you're describing. Just jump on board and get busy. You've already wasted a week with your ridiculous licking of your wounds. Now get to work!

L.A. Downtown News' Regardie says MAV's 55 percent showing last week:
"... may be fitting, since many people in Los Angeles feel that Villaraigosa has only lived up to about 55% of his hype."
http://www.downtownnews.com/articles/2009/03/09/news/doc49b1dba590aae399194231.txt
(He's probably being kind there!)
So, anybody good with math?
If he's really only 55 percent of what he was hyped to be, working on City business only 11 percent of the time, doesn't that make him only about a 6 percent effective mayor?
Sounds like for a measly $50,000 L.A. City could buy out his contract for the next four years (at 6 percent of salary), and be done with him early.
Zuma Dogg said:
"You've already wasted a week with your ridiculous licking of your wounds."
WTF?!? I hit every council meeting since election day, including election day. And A WEEK! I wish I could take off a lot more than a week. If I just spent three years doing what I have been doing out of my car, on my no-budget, and you say, "waste a week" when I didn't even miss a meeting and posted the monica clip and have been speaking with people on the phone, basically, non-stop since the election...
Wow! I really care what YOU think. And I don't care if you are a supporter. To say I wasted a week licking my wounds, when anyone who has spoken with me knows I have never felt more blessed and joyful in my entire life at the end of this whole three year process that just came to "tour wrap up" with this past election.
So now, I will be re-inventing myself slightly, as I already have since taking off the hat and glasses and putting on a suit with a haircut these past couple months.
So basically, if you are going to say that I wasted a week licking my wounds, that is going to piss me off no matter how much you have supported me in the past.
And if I DID only show up half (assed) the time, then at least I'm showing up half the time.
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS IT WRITTEN THAT I HAVE TO SET THE RECORD FOR "MOST MEETINGS ATTENDED?"
Remember, no one ASKED me to show up, but based on the feedback from people all across the city, I chose to "roll with it" to the fullest since it ain't easy to please your average Joe in a city like this, or make any kind of an impact...so as a guy who stepped out of the bleachers and onto the game floor, as people liked it, I wanted to keep doing it, since it was about the most important stuff in the city. Remember, before my first city hall appearance three years ago...I was about music and comedy; and before that Dr. Deming and Ries and Trout.
So again, as people came to me, many times in desparation, to have me talk about their issue, I honored the honor and carried the weight as much as I could for as long as I could.
Three years is a long day.
So whatever it is, it is. And now that I am really in the public conciousness even moreso now, you can't just walk away from who you are.
So hopefully, I will manage it better and people will help me be able to continue in a way that will allow me to join the human race, again. Because to do what I have just done, under the circumstances, wasn't really human by any functional standards.
So in other words, umless you wanna pay me $50 bucks a day to do it the way you want me to do it...STFU!

With Walter Moore getting 60,000 votes, Gordon another 14,000, Zuma 7,000, David Hernandez another 4,000, Phil another couple thousand etc. Didnt' Antonio only get 127,000? That means that over half the people didn't want AV. AV keeps saying he's built up the LAPD almost to 10,000. What the reporters are failing to report is there have been hundreds of Veteran officers who have retired way more then recruits who have graduated. So, by mere calculations there's no way LAPD can be built up to almost 10,000. Where is the great DAVID Z or Danilel from Weekly or my other favorite Patrick McDonald reporting these fake numbers by AV camp.

Zuma Dogg, you don't seem to understand what people are saying.
1. You wrote in numerous places that you're essentially hanging it up and doing something else.
2 Whether or not those are your exact words, that IS what you were communicating.
3. Thus, people expect that you're not going to be around for a while.
4. Opposite that, you have attended all of these meetings, which is in conflict with what people were expecting.
5. If you weren't intending to leave, then just clear it up and start hitting those meetings, boy. We need you! Los Angeles is nothing without you.
You had better just clear things up with out writing so much.
So, are you staying or leaving? Just make sure we understnd what the hell you're going to do from this point forward.

3:33pm, that is what election day was about, and we failed. Only WM had a chance to win, and had we banned together, there'd be a runoff in may.
But this did not happen. We didn't get our act together. The reason why AV didn't debate is because he and his advisors KNEW that we were not going to band together.
That was our chance. All of the stupid endorsements of people, other than Zuma Dogg, who nobody ever heard of, is what divided us.
AV may be an idiot, but he got re-elected. We had our chance. We lost. Welcome to the next four years. And guess what, Wendy and Chick are both already trying to position themselves to become Mayor when Antonio does leave. So welcome to the next eight years of Los Angeles. They'll be the same as the recent few decades.

I agree. Maybe I'll go back to Zuma Dogg and put the hat and glasses back on (cause at the end of the day, I do like to maintain some anonymouty in my real life) -- or go by David without the hat and glasses.
But I don't wanna be showing up looking like Dave saying, "Our next speaker is Zuma Dogg."
Give me a break though. I blew up the whole year year character for the election, based on feedback.
And I am glad I disolved the character, for the most part. Even the ZD fans like the "Dave" appearances and delivery.
But whatever it is...give me a break. You are treating me as though I were your elected official.
We'll see how it goes. But however it goes, feel free to keep your mouth shut when it comes to weighing in with an opinion, unless you wanna pay me to do what you want.
Otherwise, walk outside on the street and start telling people what you think of them and how you think they should operate.

Michael Higby said:
4:38 and 4:41 is the usual wacko that has to argue against anything I say and half the time doesn't even know what specific statement they're arguing against.
The bottom line is this - first do some math. If every single one of Zuma's voters voted for Walter Moore, Villaraigosa would have the SAME percentage he got. It's not like Zuma's voters are superdelegates or something that could give 1.5 votes to Walter.
The other issue is that a vote for a Zuma was a vote AGAINST every other candidate. If a Zuma voter want to vote for Walter Moore, they would have. I also believe that most of Zuma's voters WOULD not vote for Moore. Many of them were minorities, young people and seniors who don't buy Walter's right wing views. Many liberals who were uncomfortable with Villaraigosa voted for Zuma.

I voted for Zuma. If he weren't in the election I would have voted for Turner. Walter Moore NEVER had my vote. I hate him. This Walter Moore whiner reminds me of Al Bore in 2000 whining that the Nader votes were his. No we weren't. Without Nader, I would have stayed home.

I like Villaraigosa. I just happen to believe that he's had some really bad advice over the past 4 years from people who didn't have the interests of the constituents at heart. I'm hoping that the old activist Antonio will come back and rule his OWN administration for the next four years. He can do a much better job without the Riordan input. The man is a workhorse, but the media doesn't report that. They chase him around town and then accuse him of trying to get photo ops. And you all believe it!
I like Zuma Dogg and I think he is one of the best things to happen to LA politics in a long time. I hope he never goes away and I don't care if he's homeless Zuma in a hat and glasses or if he's Dave S. dressed nicely as long as he's holding politicians feet to the fire. I am amazed at some of the people I know who voted for him. Mayor Sam is exactly right. Any Democrat that I know who had a problem with the mayor for any reason, voted for Zuma Dogg. I know some 18-19 year olds who did too because they thought he was ballsy. I know some NC people who think he is the greatest.
I like Michael Higby and I don't believe for one minute that he is a racist. He allows racial shit to be posted but he isn't racist himself.
I despise Walter Moore. He doesn't know what he is talking about when he talks about Special Order 40, he is definitely a racist with no place in a large metropolis, especially as a leader of any kind. CD 12 is exactly where someone of his ilk belongs. He should move there now and run against Englander.
I seriously doubt that the mayor and his people are monitoring this blog and are afraid of what's being posted. Come on. Even with 100,000 hits if that's true, there are two problems with that. One is that 10,000 are the same people and two is that number isn't high enough to ruin a governor race.
Anonymous said:
The Antonio and Ace Smith (Hatchet Man) camp love when people post crap here about Zuma. It takes away the limelight of what a loser Mayor we have and turns the dialogue away from his candidacy for governor. Tons of people are now posting on blogs across California telling them how bad Los Angeles has become under Villaraigosa. I've read the posts and they are well documented researched to show proof of what they are saying. good job.
Anonymous said:
These vote analyses are faulty in one major respect. They assume that the same people and the same number of people would be voting if Moore had been running alone against MAV. The reality is that because MAV had no credible opposition he didn't crank up his effort. Had it been a tougher race, he would have put more money and more effort into getting out his voters. Then there would have been many voting who decided instead to stay home because their vote didn't mean much to MAV.
