It was rumored to be a simple swap. If Wendy Greuel won City Controller, which she did last night, City Controller Laura Chick would run for Greuel's empty seat in Council District 2 in the Valley. In an upset to many, Chick announced this morning that she is moving on from elected city politics.

I'd say Abby Diamond, the true Erin Brockovich of the Valley.
But I think Abby is smart enough not to run and enjoy life on her terms!
How about Zach Behrens? Stuart Waldman?
At some point CD2 will have a Clowncil Person who doesn't leave halfway through.

Stuart isn't running. He burned too many bridges in his loss to Bob. Plus he burned through a lot of his own money...

Well folks, you may not have a say in who the next council member of CD2 will be. Just got off the telephone with the City Clerk.There is no set policy on filling the seat and two options are open. Once vacated on July 1st the Mayor and City Council can agree to appoint someone to fill out the term until 2011. Or they can choose to call a special election and incur the cost of doing so.
Given the budget crisis, which option do you think they will choose?
So just take this time to enjoy the victory over Measure B and we will face July 1st when it gets here.

(And yea, yea don't give me the crap about my endorsement being a kiss of death - I supported Wachs and Greuel for CD 2 so I'm good there).
That's the problem with rumors.
Cindy Montanez all the way. This city needs her back where she belongs.
Why would the mayor put Galatzan there and lose a voice on the school board? He doesn't care if she wants CD 2 or not. He got what he wanted from her.
Louie is pissed? That's pretty funny. Oh well, suck it up and take it like a man.

It's possible your refusal to endorse Walter Moore was a kiss of death for him. For sometime MS was considered his base. It took a lot of guts for you to do what you had in your conscience.
5:29 - I doubt it. No one voted for Villaraigosa that was going to vote for Walter Moore. If I moved someone from Moore it would have been to one of the other candidates.
Moore not getting in the run-off is his own fault. I'll have more on that later.
