Ahhh, ten reasons why Mayor Villar was no show at debates..
On the eve of Election Day in Los Angeles and not one Villar sighting at a debate to comment on, lets speculate as we are often accuse of doing here at Mayor Sam, on why "LA's Great Ahhhmunicator" was a no show at the various candidate forums around the city.
AHHH # 10 "Trujillo was unavalible to drive".
AHHH #9 "Lisa Sarno had created scheduling conflicts with a Million Tree Plantings".
AHHH # 8 "He was too worry about his Legacy ( or was it Legacy LA ??)"
AHHH # 7 "Was not allowed to hand pick Kevin Roderick, aka Westside White Guy as in ringer moderator"
AHHH # 6 "Will you complete your second term as Mayor of Los Angeles ??"
AHHH # 5 "Steve Lopez as moderator"
AHHH # 4 "Cameras not allowed"
AHHH # 3 "It would take less than 11% of debate to list accomplishments"
AHHH # 2 "Would have to stay beyond the 11% mark of the debate"
.....AHHH # 1 "HOW ARE THOSE 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES DOING IN CD 14 ??"

Look, Antonio's going to win because no strong candidates have the fortitude to take him on, although it would have been easy to defeat him with anything over $1 million.
By why vote for him and just cause him to be more arrogant, more interested in only TV cameras, etc.
Sending a message by voting for somebody else is the best we can do.
That's more like it; someone who we all agree we hate.
Why not vote for David Saltsburg for Mayor? If there is enough of a protest vote, imagine Saltsberg ripping up Villraigosa on policy issues. Saltsburg is informed on numerous embarrassing City issues.
The 3rd floor spinners like to call Saltsburg a "clown" because of the Zuma Dog Act. On the other hand, why would voters want to vote for some clown who cannot keep his zipper up? That is even more humiliating.
An update, re: those
80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES
29 died of old age within AV's first (and only) full first term.
16 moved away, "damn, this neighborhood is too dangerous!"
3 were eaten by coyotes.
32 are now pictured on specialty cartoons of milk sold exclusively at "Big Saver" markets on Huntington Drive and Broadway (...collect the WHOLE set!)
Mayor V didn't need to attend the debates because of who else would have been there, namely "Wacko Walter and the Seven Dwarf Candidates"
The theme song of this campaign was: "HO HUM, HO HUM, all no-names, plus one BUM."
"Why not vote for Dave Saltsburg"?
How about him listing himself as an economist when he (a) doesn't understand even its basics (b) never taught it (c) doesn't have any formal training in it and (d) NEVER WORKED AS AN ECONOMIST.
No, reading a book by Dr. Deming doesn't qualify for his being an economist, either.
Let's see, how about his living in his car? Surely, an economist will have applied himself enough so that he can HAVE AT LEAST A ROOM IN A HOUSE or something with plumbing in it?
How about his smelling like a dumpster? How about the terrorist ski cap and sunglasses? How about his never having managed a budget? How about his singing Journey themes at city council? How about his not having enough money to eat without begging?
How about clean laundry?
How about all of these things and the other 500 reasons I could list you?

I love zooma dogg, and hope he doesn't go away when he loses badly tomorrow.
By badly, I mean his not winning. I hope he doesn't go away when he loses. He is a riot and we love him on councilphone. He and all the other well meaning screwballs who aren't out earning a living when they are sitting in the Ferraro chambers.
That means phil, too. plus that fat lady in van nuys. she is troubling, but on a par with zooma dogg for the humor factor. God bless her and higby's fat chest cavities.
I can think of 9 reasons -- the other nutcase candidates.
He doesn't have to. Neither the 11:00 news last night or the radio this morning even mentioned the NAMES of the other candidates. One station called it "the mayors race, or should I say non race". That is the truth. Why the hell would the mayor give you any credibility? Every poll says he's winning. The only one he would have had to debate if he chose was Walter and nobody should debate a racist like that. And I guarantee you, dumb, dumb, dumb Walter (who believes he may be brighter than the mayor)is better off not letting people hear him speak. It's mostly Mayor Sam readers who know who he is. Not the rest of the city.
Channel 7 this morning mentioned a couple of candidates for mayor and a couple candidates for city controller.
New Media really did a horrible job covering this election. Everyone knows why. The media did not cover the election on purpose. And, the few stories there were, they are so brief and not even a full story, they were just one liners.
Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame on them.
