The Secret Is Out! Mayor Finally Releases Names of Mystery Gang Panel
You may remember the LA Weeky's Daniel Heimpel's piece about Mayor Villaraigosa's secret anti-gang committee, that group of unknown commisars, sort of the Majestic-12 of anti-street crime, who were responsible for deciding which of Zuma Dogg's favorite shady non-profits would be the winners in the City lottery of millions of dollars of anti-gang tax money. They should be listing HOW MUCH $$$$ these people are getting. Isn't the total amoutn $24 MILLION?
This couldn't possibly be the true list of people. Where are all the anti gang programs that have been in the city for years on here? Why is he giving money to LAUSD and PRIVATE RESIDENTS? There is something seriously wrong with this list and we need to dig deeper. Where is Jill Stewart to follow up on this??

STUPENDOUS asks ... What's the objective of this panel, and how are they going to go about attaining whatever mission they have? When there is a committee involved nothing usually gets done. Why should we believe this one will be any different?
Walter Moore said:
Villaraigosa said there were 50 people.
This list, according to the Weekly's article, is 43.
Who are the seven others? Or is 50 the new 43?

fired this b don't just slap him. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Does he really think we the people don't want him gone?

Walter Moore is yesterday's news. Now it's all about Ron Kaye and Noel Weiss!

I hope Jill Stewart and her team at LA Weeklyl thoroughly investigate these people to find out what's the connection to Mayor. I'm sure some are political paybacks, I agree why are there so many LAUSD people, who are the private citizens and aren't some of these people blatant conflicts of interest?

At our Sunland Tujunga victory party last night:
Nobody there is supporting Walter Moore.
Maybe Walter should have been nicer to people.
Anonymous said:
12:44, how do you figure that? Ron didn't express an interest or even file the papers to run for anything.
If you don't like Antonio, your only choice is Walter Moore. Or the Stinko White Boy living in the van.

Being nice never won anybody an office.
If your little feelings were hurt that Moore didn't return your call, then vote for Antonio.
See what that gets you.

I vote for Stinko in the Van over Walter.

I prefer to vote for someone who is successful in his or her professional life. Walter understands the law and can pay for a roof in a good part of town.
What has ZD done other than beg for change and not shower?

I too vote for Zuma Dog. I heard Walter Moore on the radio. He sounds like Mr. Rogers on meth.

I don't know, but does anyone know if any of the people listed deal with gang activities in the Harbor Area or are the folks living down there just continuing to be ignored?
It should matter that revenue coming into the city from the Harbor Area is quite substantial compared to just about every other area of the city.
We have this 'little' bureaucracy that is the Port of Los Angeles which contributes not only funds but many headaches towards City Hall.
It may also be that Tony doesn't like what Councilwoman Hahn wants to try to do with dealings about gangs.
Certainly everyone should know by now that Zuma Dogg could not do a worse job at being Mayor of L.A. than Tony has done.
Mr. Dogg might even bring national media attention to many of the plights of Angelenos, after he is sworn in.
It also looks like Zuma spends more time dealing with city business and activities than Tony's 11% suggests.
We probably don't know enough about Walter and his interest or lack thereof, in the Harbor Area.
Zuma Dogg is better than nothing and nothing is what Tony has accomplished during every one of the 11% of his time he 'worked' on city business

I vote for Mr. Rogers on meth instead of a homeless guy on it.

don't squander your vote on Zuma Dogg. he is very nice and fun and funny, but he doesn't have a hint of an infrastructure to his campaign.
seriously. good guy. maybe even a great guy. but if you're going to vote for a man who CANNOT WIN, why bother?
i like the man, zuma dogg, but i see it as a major squander to do this.

The entire budget for all these gang programs together is a mere $24 million, which pales in comparison to the $42 million being discussed for scrapping the LA zoo exhibit for elephants, at present, one elephant ($12 million of which is already spent, and the rest planned for the elephants, would be wasted on just a generic animal enclosure for another species). NOT to mention the huge cost of a boondoggle wildlife "preserve" in the Valley in a high-fire area in Cardenas' district. Cardenas and Alarcon, who represent two of the poorest areas with most gangs, are behind that -- along with some wacky actors looking for PR, the Daryl Hannahs and that old Sat Night Live gal, the animal nuts -- all too strange, but where's Laura Chick on that one?
Meanwhile all these people are more are offering their time and expertise to work with humans and have a relatively small amount to work with, yet you and that vendetta-crazed Jill Stewart (she seems to have some personal anger transference issues fueling her) at the Weekly have your panties totally bunched up over this and the "benefits" these people are allegedly getting.

The point that might be missed overall is that Tony does not get a second term to jack the people around anymore- either for his benefit or for that of the special interests from far and wide that contribute to his campaign funding.
It's not like "I am voting for Walter Moore because I don't like Zuma Dogg," etc., but the votes cast for the office of Mayor should NEVER be for TONY V.
A run-off would not be good for TONY and that's exactly what can happen on March 3. I really think he would have a complete breakdown if either Walter or Zuma beat him, he with all his millions of dollars of ill-gotten gains to pay for hiding the truth and twisting that which can't be hidden.
Again "Truth" is what TONY has to avoid bringing up or he loses at every examination on that issue.
You also WON'T SEE TONY in any candidate forums, debates or anything else where a coherent statement has to be made verbally. TONY can only lose in those situations- count on him being G-O-N-E from those things.
But better, make him gone at the polls.
In CD-14, go Zuma.

----------------------------------
You can be a successful a-hole in your professional life, being successful in things that have NOTHING to do with the compassion and decision making that is required as mayor.
Understanding law does not mean you understand the community and it does not mean you have common sense, either.
If understanding of the law is what was required most as mayor, then we would just look at grade point averages.
But you REALLY lose the reader when you say, what has Zuma done besides beg? Check the record you Ivy Leauge A-hole. I think people are fully aware of what I am doing out there. So you just lose all credibility.
And if it is Walter posting against me, I would like to say, I've done a hell of a lot more than you, pal. You BOUGHT any name recognition you have. I EARNED it the hard way, you weak crybaby coward.
But you HAVE done ONE thing. (Pissed off just about everyone who was supporting you.) And why does Walter use that 20 year old picture. He looks nothing like that anymore.

Someone who lives on the street has a much better understanding of the community than some lawyer who lives on the west side. Surviving takes a lot of understanding, personal control and being willing to be hungry to be successful.
