Big Week for LeBong

Two biggies this week for aging Marshall High football star Tom LeBong.

On Tuesday, PLUM takes up the issue of the Griffith Park Historical Monument. Proponents get to finally find out what cuts, slashes, and overall emasculation LeBong and his office have managed to do to the Griffith Trust's original application since the Historic Resources Commission passed its recommendation to make the entire park a historic cultural resource last October.

If PLUM (Reyes, Huizar, and Weiss) passes the proposal, file 08-3086 is set to be heard in full Council on the 27th, which, coincidentally, is the last day the council can take action on this item. Does this suggest what the Autocrat of Griffith Park's real strategy may be to kill this perceived threat?

Rumor has it that Friday the Clowncil votes yet again on the Zoo's new $42 million elephant exhibit. This time LeBong has the support of celebrity zookeeper Jack Hanna as he tries to make the case that the clowncil wasn't wrong the first two times it voted for the project. Meanwhile, we're just waiting for Guido Cardenas to resurrect his idea for the City to go into the Elephant Sanctuary business using taxpayer money and public lands. As ridiculous an idea as this is during such financially difficult times in the City, clowncilmembers simply love the sound of their own clever ideas. So we know Cardenas's brainstorm will definitely ....be baaaaaaaack.

Can you imagine being trapped in an elevator with Reyes, Huizar and Weiss?

The only greasy element missing would be zuma dog's beanie.

We could sequester stupidity out of los angeles if we could get Mayor Midget and LeBonge in there with them.

Who is less trustworthy than Villaraigosa? Jack Weiss or Zumma Stank?

The answer is neither.

I think someone is either getting paid to blog about Zuma Dogg on Mayor Sam or they have no life.

Nothing else explains this unnatural obsession with the Dogg, his hygiene, clothing, private parts, etc.

I think you're wrong mayor sam.

It is odd that this blog covers zumma dogg AT ALL.

Think about it fatso. How many things have been written about actually viable candidates such as Nick Patsouras compared to how much attn you give to ZD?

Before yesterday, the number was at or around zero. And that's for a major candidate.

Have you explicitly offered Wendy Greuel a chance to write here?

Have you given any of the other candidates, other than Walter, an explicit chance to work here?

See the craziness here. It is YOUR obsession with zumma dogg. Given the amount of coverage you provide, it's downright odd for you to point to others as having an obsession with him.

Spintard at 11:02 a.m.,

If you take a quick look at the last week or so worth of stories on the blog you will find only ONE about Zuma Dogg. Two others (including today's Hot Sheet) mention Zuma in passing and one of which is about Marc Cooper who devotes way more ink to Zuma than I have.

You will see that the stories cover Villaraigosa far more than Zuma Dogg.

So your point doesn't stand.

On the other hand you're here on Mayor Sam posting night and day about Zuma Dogg even on stories that have nothing to do with anything remotely related to Zuma Dogg.

So please get your hands out of your pants. Wendy wants you to get back to work.

Cheers!

Whitewash it all you want. At least your spin will be cleaner than zuma. Seriously mayort sam, have you smelled the guy?

How many times has he used this blog to mention night line? christ almighty,. he is using you in the same way that you use him.

We have one guy who posts more comments about Zuma Dogg than all bloggers and readers combined.

The funny thing is the more he posts about Zuma Dogg the more the Google searches for Zuma Dogg go up.

Essentially the people who complain that there is too much Zuma Dogg on the blog are the ones posting most about Zuma Dogg.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

But since he's come up with nothing new lately I might just start tossing Zuma Dogg related comments that don't address any particular issue.

Go make up some more fake things about how the web works. Just Say Amy is right. Your making fun of peoples' names is unprofessional.

At least us commentors don't put up a veneer of being professional. I also think you are racist and lace your own entries with white ethnocentrism.

Agreed Mayor Sam. The Zuma Dogg haters don't post comments about the issues Zuma stands for but post personal attacks which is juvenile and immature. All I hear at community meetings is how great it is to finally have a Candidate against the Mayor who isn't afraid to get in his face or stand up in city council. I think the Mayor is a little afraid of Zuma's grass root support and Ace, Mike, and Parke have to be wondering how the hell do we shut him down. No doubt the poster is upset that Zuma does know what he's talking about and people ARE LISTENING.

Twenty-one comments and almost nothing about the merits and politics surrounding the monument nomination. This nomination is not a slam dunk because there may be knives out at City Council to kill it.

So could we please hear from insiders and outsiders what the people reading this blog can do to make sure the monument status is adopted?

What the hell is the LA Conservancy doing on this issue? They should be screaming at the top of their lungs.

12:54, you're absolutely right -- what IS the LA Conservancy doing about this? They were one of the major voices in the room last October. However, there has been relative and somewhat frightening silence since.

Once thing we did hear is that the Griffith family has hired a lawyer or two to watch LaBonge and his friends very carefully on this.

Reyes as chair of PLUM is a large concern. He doesn't think that passive recreation is recreation for Latinos. In his mind, ball fields are (apparently) the only form of recreation his constituents recognize. Someone needs to direct the councilman to the draft Needs Assessment survey recently completed by Rec and Parks. Passive recreation, open spaces, green spaces all ranked very very high on the list of priorities from HIS constituents.

But hey - let's not bore the councilman with facts, shall we?

And what the hell has LaBonge been doing these past few months? Has Billy kept him busy, or has he rounded up more Public Works and Rec and Parks people to say that there is too much vital infrastructure in Griffith to allow it to be a historic monument. (And HPOZs don't have vital infrastructure?)

The plot thickens. Unfortunately.

"Why is ZD being so mean to Wendy. Does she show up to ruin his events? "

ZD was not mean to Wendy, at all. I did show up. Didn't say anything to "spoil" the event. Was not mean. It was nice to see people. It was an open event in an outdoor park with 300 people. And YES I will show up at events like this. But I'm sure everyone who was there will tell you I was nice and didn't "RUIN" anything, you crybaby. (And after I said nice things about you.)

And do you really think there are THAT MANY PEOPLE who are SO COMMITTED to proving how ZD heavy this blog is, when it's really not. Some of these back to back comments are a minute apart from each other. HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE BLOGGING AT THE EXACT SAME TIME WHO FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY ABOUT THIS ISSUE???

But again, thanks for the publicity, loser.

Los Angeles Magazine says that Linda Dishman, long-time executive director of the LA Conservancy, too often backs off on preservation issues when she should be fighting hard.

This is one of the problems in the preservation community. Too much buddy-buddy back scratching results in losses of LA's history. In numerous cases, the LA Conservancy has NOT taken a strong stand on issues that most of its membership would think are slam dunk.

I hope Dishman herself shows up at these hearings to put her credibility and organizational name behind this monument nomination. Her Advocacy Committee ought to be watching over her shoulder very carefully.

Also any more Marc Cooper farting or penis comments are done too.
