Trib: Bankrupt
The Tribune Company, corporate parent of the newspaper we all know and love as LA ANTONIA TIMES, THE OLD GRAY HAG ON SPRING STREET and the FORMER LOCAL FISHWRAP OF RECORD, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
No word if they're asking Congress for a bail-out.
Newspapers are dinosaurs. Just like public access TV and polyester. Deal with it.

As opposed to this site -- which never had any money or paying customers to begin with.
Hmmmmm! Has-been or never-will-be. . . hard to figure which is sadder.

Imagine if you had to rely on this blog for the news of the city, and you spent half your time reading about the village idiot (he'd half to work hard to rise to the level of the court jester) -- Zuma Dogg.

Yet you continue to read. No problem. Have a drink on me!

I don't have to imagine, I waste my time here everyday, hoping to glean a bit of the old wisdom from May9or Sam.
But, he seem sto have O.D.'d on Zuma Cool-Aid.
Or, he is a depraved monster, toying with a fragile ego that could turn loose and injure others and himself.
I guess the latter.
What a Sadist.

So, let's try to gradually take this conversation back to the Chicago Tribune/LA Times banruptcy.
As much as internet news has grown, and anyone can participate, newspapers are not obsolete, and their demise would be detrimental to our democracy. In evidence, I suggest that the investigative and muckraking role is better carried out by the print media than either TV or internet sites. Two examples are the Paul Pringle LA Times stories exposing gross corruption in SEIU, and the Chicago Tribune stories on Illinois Governor Blagojevick' corruption.
The Governor was arrested this morning on corruption charges alleging that he tried to sell the US Senate seat vacated by President-elect Obama.
And guess who is involved? That's right: SEIU!!!!
Apparently there was a quid-pro-quo whereby, in return for naming a US Senator favored by the SEIU, the governor would get a job with SEIU or Change To Win federation run by SEIU bosses Andy Stern and Anna Burger.
The corruption in SEIU will not stop until SEIU members rise up and kick these crooks out.
Maybe the US Attorney can arrest Andy Stern too?
- A pissed off SEIU member who also loves newspapers.

This is cosmic retribution for all those who were ever defamed, misquoted, or lied about by the LA Times.
For the last-minute hatchet jobs, anti-Valley reporting, and overwhelming liberal bias . . .
This is KARMA!!!
Death to newspapers!
Death to newspapers!
Death to newspapers!
FUCK THEM ALL!!!
