Jamiel's Law, Yea We Did!

December 4th & December 5th, 2008, will be days to remember! Gathering signatures for Jamiel's Law was one of the hardest things we had to do, BUT WE DID IT!!
It went down to the wire and it was nothing short of a Hail Mary! It was something that should of been on video for all to see! We thanked God because it felt like a miracle in the making!!!!
Seventy-six thousand plus signatures were turned in seconds before 5:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2008. We were gathering signatures and signatures were coming in even at 4:59:50, even while we were in the City Elections Office. An hour before the due-date I stopped counting Petitions because Petitions were coming in so fast. There were 20 volunteers helping us get the Petitions packed and ready. We cried, we laughed, we prayed, we hugged and we were angry too.
We cried because it was so emotional! It was like we were fighting for the whole world. We were laughing because we were so happy! We prayed because we know that there is opposition against us. We hugged because we now believe that we are family! And we are angry because we shouldn't have to fight this hard just to get illegal alien, gang banging gangsters off the streets of Los Angeles.
Eventhough we are waiting for the City of Los Angeles to verify the signatures, we want to thank some of the people who made this possible. This is a major accomplishment and it did take the local community and this Country and people across the world. It will take a lifetime to thank everyone, but let's start with just a few.
The Shaw Family truly thank every person who was able to sign the Jamiel's Law Petition! If it weren't for signatures, we could not have gotten it done!
We thank the Bologna & the Kennedy Family for taking their time to fight with us!! They didn't have to come to Los Angeles to help, but they did! We thank the March family for their support and Gwen at S.T.E.V.I.E., and all the families who lost loved ones and still had the strength to help get signatures for Jamiel's Law. We also thank Ice Cube for making a video to bring attenton to senseless gun violence and for keeping the Jamiel Shaw Story alive!
We thank Michael Higby at Mayor Sam!!!! You were the first to open up a platform for us to let our voice be heard, over and over and over. You too Red Spot for being the first to report the Jamiel Shaw Story on Mayor Sam. We thank all of the Mayor Sam bloggers for their continued support!
We thank the Radio Hosts & Radio Stations who helped us!!!! Kevin James, Doug McIntyre, Terry Anderson, John & Ken, Al Rantel, Larry Elder, and Stevie Wonder at KJLH. Thank you all for talking about this over and over again! We thank, KRLA, KABC, KFI, KNX, KFWB and the many more stations that I can't remember right now. Thank you all for getting the word out about Jamiel's Law and the Jamiel Shaw Story. A special thank you to KABC for bringing the Bologna & Kennedy Family down to help us get signatures!! Uncle Andres in Studio City!! And Jackson Limousines.
We thank the Media near and far for talking about Jamiel's Law at one point or another. The local channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. The Cable Channels, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News. Thank you all for helping us take the news about my nephew all over the world! Especially the local channels who stepped it up on Friday to get the word out and a special thank you to Leslie Dutton of Full Disclosure and John Schwada too for breaking the fact that the killer is in the Country illegally!
We thank the Newspapers too! LA Times, La Opinion, Daily News, The Sentinel and the many more who continue to keep the story alive.
We also thank Walter Moore for writing Jamiel's Law! We didn't know what we were going to do when Jas was murdered and you gave us something to fight for!
All the bloggers who wrote encouraging stories about Jamiel's Law, we needed you too. You too Zuma Dogg! Thank you for helping us on Friday! Thank yous too Councilmembers Zine & Smith.
David Horowitz from Freedom Center! Thank you for letting Anita tell her story at the 2008 Restoration Weekend. You and your crew really stepped it up! U.S. Representative Ed Royce! Thank you for getting the word out on John & Ken's show! Ed Kowalski from 9/11 families and FAIR! Thank you for taking the story to Washington DC. Sean Hannity for taping Anita and for airing it tonight on FOX Cable. O'Reilly too! Thank you for your help.
A Special Thank you to all of the supporters who did the grunt work with us! Sydney, Camey, Gary L., Coach Hardy, Donald, Linda R., Linda K., Kathleen E., Kathleen P., Ted H., Karen(logowoman), Mike B., Jesse and the many more that I can't remember right now, but we will post an official thank you on Jamielslaw.com in the coming days. You all stopped what you were doing and started helping us at grocery stores and football games and going door-to-door and for taking the Petitions to work and for all the people who gave up their time and their money, Thank you ALL!
We will continue to fight for Jamiel Andre' Shaw, II and for the many, many, many innocent victims who lost their lives at the hands of criminals who shouldn't be in the USA!
God Bless You All!

Congradulations! Good people getting together to do the good things for all of us. Lets all remember it next year when its time to vote.
It's fitting and just (finally) that positive results can be extracted from such a horrible act. It's also very apropo that this feat was accomplished without any real distinction to ethnicities. I like to think its another precursor to the justice this new Administration may bring to the table. Congratulations to all you hard working folks! Well done..
A well deserved congratulations!
Lets' not forget to thank Santiago and his compadre Don Quixote for all their support on the many blogs.
Don Quixote is very aware of the problem of illegal alien gang members and has been spreading the word over the Internet.
Yes we all know how Don Quixote feels.
Congratulations to the Shaws! We're honored to have you as part of our team and the platform for your experiences, stories and views is here for you to share.
Interestingly I don't see very many blogs here in LA covering Jamiel's Law. That's sad.
folks ,this is the right thing to do! People foamed at the mouth that this was a "racist" action, but what they failed to SEE was that alot of these illegal alien criminals WERE the VIOLENT ones we need to keep off the streets.
Many of these criminals were living in communities represented by other citizens ( even aliens) that spoke their same language and shared the same ethnic background ,and because of this- the same criminals THOUGHT they could PREY on those citizens without fear of punishment.
Face it folks, This country allows people of different cultures to live here freely ,and thats fair- but fairness doesn't include allowing murderous riff-raff who are not contributing ,regardless of their "status",to roam freely as IF they have the "right to be here!".
kudos once again on getting the signatures....
God bless that family. I saw them (well, one member actually) the morning of the 5th when I helped Althea unload her car's trunk in front of Denny's and then turned in my signatures. Those Shaws don't have an ounce of quit in them. The whole thing was very inspiring.
It was hard work gathering signatures, but so many that signed the petition were happy to give their support. We can take this nation back and live together in peace once we put our country in order and remove the trash that has spread far and wide. Gangs should know that our country belongs to the citizens and we will fight for what is ours. We did it!
Thank you, Mrs. Shaw.
It was an honor to sign your petition.
Congrats to the Shaw Family and all of their volunteers.
I would like to also thank Von's Market and Trader Joes in Chatsworth/Northridge for allowing us to gather signatures at their sites. I realize some of their customers were annoyed, but most appreciated our Constitutional Right of free speech, freedom of assembly and freedom to petition. This petition process is how the chickens got cages that suit them (Prop 2), and this is how crime will be thwarted in our communities by more expeditiously removing illegal immigrant gang members from our streets.
Next time you are in Von's or Trader Joes at Devonshire and Mason, be sure to THANK THEM for allowing us to pursue victory outside their doors with our Jamiels Law petitions, and for thereby furthering the rights of Americans guaranteed under our Constitution.
I helped gather signatures for the petition drive and I can tell you that some of the people who were most willing to sign were Latinos who said they were sick of gangs terrorizing the Latino community.
All of you who said Jamiel's Law is racist against Latinos have Latinos to thank for helping us get enough signatures.
