Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday

The San Francisco Sentinel has a pretty lame puff piece on Mayor Villaraigosa. The Sentinel says the Mayor is sitting pretty with no opposition, plenty of cash and a City Hall in sync with his agenda.  In a second term, the Sentinel says, the Mayor can accomplish more of his goals.  Perhaps he will work for the people 22% of the time.  A piece in the Contra Costa Times, Villaraigosa campaign manager Ace Smith lays out the Mayor's re-election strategy.

Forty three Democratic members of the State Legislature filed a brief Monday urging that the State Supreme Court invalidate Proposition 8 which banned same-sex marriage in California.  No Republican members of the Senate or Assembly joined on board but Governor Schwarzenegger expressed support for the effort.  Though State Attorney General Jerry Brown would be obligated to defend Proposition 8 in court, supporters of the measure say they would seek to have their attorneys intervene to oppose and represent their interests in the case.

A number of LA's top chefs joined to compete in the 22nd annual "Great Chefs of LA: Go Green, Go Organic" at CBS Studios Sunday to benefit the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California.  Among the celebrities on hand were comedian George Lopez and Los Angeles City Council Member Dennis Zine.

Eric Garcetti has led the City Council in designating the site of a historic gay bar in Silverlake as a cultural landmark.  The Black Cat was the site of a horrific incident early on New Years Day 1967 when gay celebrants were savagely beaten by LAPD officers for the crime of kissing.  The bar today is now known as Le Barcito however it is still said to serve a gay clientele.

What happens when your dad gets elected President of the United States? You get asked to appear on the hottest kids TV series on today, The Disney Channel's Hannah MontanaBilly Ray Cyrus, series co-star and father of star Miley Cyrus said the show has asked Sasha and Malia Obama to visit and appear in an episode. No word on if the Obama family has accepted the offer.

I hj[e Ron Daky's SLAP people protest where ever the dumb ass Mayor speaks for re election. He's been in the city only 11% of time, raised taxes, forgot about the homeless, will try and take credit for police even though he voted agaisnt them in 2003, hasn't done anything about traffic, still hasn't done shit about schools overcrowding and now has the nerve to want to be re elected. Everyone get up off your lazy asses and protest.

You do realize that the Sentinel just reposted the stupid Times story, right?

That story is lame. The Mayor is not sitting pretty. Sure, he has cash, no real competition but he has major problems. Here are a few:

He did not keep his campaign promises. Who wants a Mayor who doesn't do what he says he will do?

He spent 99% of his first term out of the city, state and country, campaigning for others, taking fancy free vacations from developers.

He destroyed his marriage, family, made a total fool out of all of us with his stupid marriage ending fling.

There will be a lot more people speaking out against the Mayor then Ace Smith thinks. He's the sleazy campaign manager that attacks personal families instead of issues. Walter Moore should do some of his own digging and no doubt will find a load of crap in Villaraigosa's case.

LA Slimes...Poll: Voters like Feinstein; Villaraigosa's got some issues

No one knows whether U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein even wants to be governor. But a new Field Poll finds that she has by far the best favorability rating among the Democratic field for 2010. And Mayor Antonio Villaragiosa? The poll finds he's got bigger unfavorable numbers than favorable ones. But at least he's not Gavin Newsom.

Here are the details:
DIANNE FEINSTEIN 50% favorable 39% unfavorable
JERRY BROWN 34% favorable 34% unfavorable
ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA 28% favorable; 33% unfavorable
GAVIN NEWSOM 25% favorable 41% unfavorable

"Following up from last week's meeting with President-elect Barack Obama, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has asked city officials to draw up a list of projects that could be STARTED IMMEDIATELY if federal funds were made available, officials said Wednesday."

We don't have to worry about Antonio ever working with Obama. He could never pass the 63 question questionnaire. They ask if you've ever sent an embarrassing email or been involved in anything scandalous. They also ask if you didn't pay child support. Antonio would never pass Obama's vetting. Obviously Obama didn't vet anyone on his economic committee. Antonio was a dead beat with bad credit who didn't pay child support.

Anonymous, that is an out and out lie and a fabrication made from whole cloth.

Antonio never missed a payment on his child support for any of his kids. He admits to being late once, just once.

I defy you to prove otherwise with any bit of real evidence.

People like you need to learn to stop creating lies about others.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, and you are entitled to be jealous of or dislike our Mayor, but you are NOT entitled to your own facts, and the facts are these: Antonio Villaraigosa never missed a child support payment.
