Ho-Hum, McCain is Done!
Tonight's debate was held in my hometown of Nashville and it was great to hear those southern accents in play! But was this debate a game changer? What happened to the mud slinging McCain we were all expecting? McCain did refer to Obama as "that one" which the blogs are already pouncing upon, but other than that it was like watching a creepy old uncle wandering around the room and babbling memorized battle slogans.
I predict a zero gain in the polls just when McCain needed it most!
Blog away, blog away!

Bush, I mean McCain, lost because he needed a knockout and didn't get it.
The analysts, Republican and Democrat, seem to agree on this and:
1. According to CNN, the voters felt heavily that Obama is better able to handle the economy.
2. In the Clinton race, 43% felt that the economy was the biggest issue (remember the slogan, "It's the economy, stupid!") and now 60% felt that way.
3. If those numbers don't change quickly, it's all over.
4. McCain missed the boat by not having a solution to the economic problem weeks ago.
5. Campaigns are not decided on things like Bill Ayers, and who voted for what in past years while they're losing their homes and the Republicans are in charge.
6. Voters believe that Obama represents change due to his age, his party, and his newness. It's much more difficult for McCain, as a Republican, to say that he represents change.
7. McCain didn't have it in him during the debate to attack Obama, that's what Palin is for.
McCain has no choice but to try and throw another Hail Mary and play to racist anger that's in many Americans.

But, absent a huge October Surprise, or the Bradley Effect working in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, it is over.

Joe do you believe everything the union tells you? Man, Hollywood is a sickness!
Have you ever been to the Bear Pit BBQ? You know the values of Tennessee which is hard work, faith in God and belief in America.
Obama and his wife hate that.
More importantly he will raise your taxes. President Bush won't tell you that. I just did.

I got this email from the Obama campaign, you're supposed to sing this at rallies:
Praise Obama, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye Democratic host;
Praise Barack, Joe, and Tony Rezko.
Amen....

With all due respect, Michael,
I don't listen to the Unions, never have, and my union has never even mentioned this presidential race.
Never been to Bear Pit. Missouri BBQ
doesn't hold a candle to Tennessee BBQ.
And everything else you said is just nonsense.

MSNBC reports that Republican Senator Chuck Hagel (Nebraska) has not yet made an endorsement for president.
What's he waiting for?
Even stranger is that his wife, Lilibet, announced that she will endorse her first Democrat -- Barak Obama.
She explained, "The fact is we're in two wars, two of the longest we've ever been in. We've run up a third of our nation's debt in just the past 8 years. We're in the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression."

It has been noted that John McCain, after tonight's debate, apparently refused to shake Barrack Obama's hand and quickly left the building.
We may never know the reason why. But here are 10 hypotheses going around.
10. Informed Matlock and/or The Golden Girls was about to start on local TV
9. Was worried about making it back to the hotel before all the wheels came off the "straight-talk express"
8. His Depends starting leaking
7. Thought he had spotted the grim reaper stalking him and decided to make a run for it
6. Suddenly had sinking feeling that he had left the barbecue on at home - but couldn't remember exactly which home
5. Wanted to make sure all the hate pamphlets and brochures were printed and ready for his stump speech tomorrow.
4. Had sudden epiphany that it was imperative to suspend handshaking until the financial crisis has been resolved
3. Invited by sponsors to tape a new Metamucil commercial in the back lot.
2. Was starting to get angry, and was worried people wouldn't like him very much when he's angry...
1. Received word Sarah Palin had eluded her campaign handlers and was attempting to make a public statement

The first thing Obama mentioned was how AIG executives (Republicans) spent over $400,000.00 on a resort trip when they received $85 billion dollars from Joe TaxPayer.
AIG executives go play golf and relax at a luxury resort and spend over $400,000.00 in Dana Point, Ca. notice there is an AIG executive staying in a $3,200.00 a night presidential suite.

How many of these greddy and corrupt executives at AIG are voting for McCain? These are the people McCain thinks need tax breaks because their money will trickle down to Joe SixPack.

It must have been a real challenge for McCain to control his often uncontrollable anger during debate.
At one point he referred to Barak Obama as "that one." Whether or not he meant it in an insulting way, many voters perceived it that way.
One day this man's head is going to explode. It's the reason that many don't want him making critical decisions in the White House.

The McCain campaign laughed at suggestions that Sarah Palin hold a news conference and answer questions from the media.
Yet, to show that she's not afraid of the media, she will have her 3rd interview with Fox's own rightwing nut job, Sean Hannity.

Last night showed what a whimp McCain really is becaue he's using the MooseKilling Palin to do his dirty work to the public. Not once would he acknowledge Obama as the "pal" of a terriorist. I was shocked to hear the Republican strategists say the debate went to Obama. Let's see if McCain continues his attacks as Obama's numbers keep going up. CNN poll showed the debate 54% Obama to 30% McCain.

On Monday, investors increased Obama's chances of winning to 69% and McCain had sunk to 31%.
Today, following the debate, those who are establishing the chances of winning with their money, pushed Obama to 74% and dropped McCain way down to 26%.
Do I hear a fat lady singing?

In case Mayor Sam and Red Spot didn't get the memo from the McCain campaign, they are taking BillAyers and Rev. Wright off the table.
This may be in response to postings on this blog citing recommendations from McCain supporters that these issues have run their course, and aren't anywhere near as important as the economy.
There guys, you have your orders.
