And this is "substantive"...HOW? She went to 6 colleges....so WHAT!! She got her degree....ya she's no Rhodes Scholar....again..SO WHAT. Obama went to Haaaaaavad....again SO WHAT. It comes down to the character of the individual, or did you idiots forget that.....this is not a popularity contest.....but who, in the opinion of ALL Americans, can do the job.
Character includes things like being able to stick to a SINGLE college, or two, or three, and get it done.

This is the first time, I've ever heard that character has anything to do with the number of colleges attended.
Things must be getting tough out there on the left when the value of your character is determined by how many colleges needed to complete a degree. Seems like she's done well for herself thus far in life.

Those familiar with us know that we hold advanced degrees from such fine institutions as Oxford, McGill, Bond and, if you will, one the very same institutions that your Obama attended, savvy? But, dear sots, where one attends is not the tailor's tape by which a person's worth is measured. No, sirrah. It is not. (Crew nods) Rather, it is the stick-to-it-ness and the eventual finish that matters more. If this stick-to-it-ness involves two or more colleges, then it simply makes for a well-traveled collegian, savvy?
Even here upon this very blog we pirates have been (raises eyebrow) subjected to some rather intense criticism of our academic credentials. But that does not make or break us for if we were to be broken then we would not be wholly the men we are in total, savvy?
(Strokes chin thoughtfully) So then the argument becomes one of, if you will, whether or not a certain individual who has a Masters Degree In Spam from a certain local egg-head factory has more or less of a thin shell due to the caliber of the trained help at the factory. Or it becomes an argument, if you will, as to whether or not the sot whose father paid a small fortune so that his son could perhaps have a career as a state legislature is actually qualified for the spot based upon his academic prowess, which leaves open to debate as to whether or not his papa spent the university funds now instead of earlier when the shell was a bit softer 'round the old noggin, savvy?

You're a fucking moron...No one expects this thing to be a blow-out...a "blow-out" of more than 10 points hasn't happened since 1984.
Sparrow, the only person alive in America who doesn't know that Obama's father didn't spend a small fortune on his "fancy" colleges -- he left his mother when he was 2, and she got him into a private high school in Hawaii on a scholarship, where he did poorly except at basketball. Then Occidental, where he finally made up his mind to be a serious student, and got into Columbia on a scholarship with some study at Oxford, then Harvard -- all scholarships.
He's a half-black kid raised by a single mother, that's why he got all those scholarships, nothing to do with his father or paying money.
Sarah is, you may have noticed, white, so she wouldn't be eligible for affirmative action admissions or scholarships.
It's middle class white kids whose parents have the hardest time sending their kids to college -- no affirmative action admissions, in fact, disadvantage relative to kids of color, and too "rich" for financial aid. With two parents, both incomes together can't be more than like $50-60 thousand, which isn't nearly enough for college. So the student has to take out loans. Obama famously took them out, too -- scholarships don't pay for extras like room and board.
The problem I have with Palin is she's only been in public office with a very small anmount of people. She has no foreign policy experience compared to Biden her rival. She has poor judgement as a mother who used her family as props just to give the perception that everything is ok. Sadly, the baggage is now started to come out from her home town and people who really know her are telling all.

I don't have a degree but I do have a lot of street smarts and I think that Captain Jack may have been bringing the topic back to local politics and perhaps was talking about Alex Padilla. Or I could be wrong because Eric Garcetti deserves his degree and those are the only two local pols I can think of that the pirate might be speaking of. Or I'm really wrong and he was just talking about Palin.
