NOBAMA!! "Voight ignites a blogstorm in Hollywood"

What is it like to be a "Republican Supporter in Hollywood"??

Consider the reaction to "Father in Law of Brad", Jon Voight Op-ed in the Washington Times where he takes to task the "PRESUMPTIVE TELEPROMPTER PRESIDENT" and states his support for John McCain.

The political blogsosphere, of course, went ballistic. Then Jeffrey Wells, who runs the movie and pop culture site Hollywood-Elsewhere.com, took Voight to task for his right turn and wrote that, if he were a studio executive, he might think twice before hiring Voight for any future film work. “[Voight is] obviously entitled to say and write whatever he wants,” wrote Wells. “But it's only natural that industry-based Obama supporters will henceforth regard him askance. Honestly? If I were a producer and I had to make a casting decision about hiring Voight or some older actor who hadn't pissed me off with an idiotic Washington Times op-ed piece, I might very well say to myself, ‘Voight? Let him eat cake.'"

Nice to see that all is well in the "Thespian Collective Stronghold of Hollywood" where one is induced to keeping his political beliefs quite, especially if one believes in Free Markets, Ronald Reagan and the "Right to life".

After all, the "Thespian Left" has for years lived a double life by harping on the Blacklistings of the "Golden Era of Tinseltown" in the fifties, while silently subjecting the likes of Tom Selleck, Pat Sajat, Bo Derek and others to a virtual form of blacklisting.

Even the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger who plays a certain "Gov. Kennedy Republican" is not exempt from the treatment that Voight is currently receiving from the "Thespian Left", even as he bombs out as the "Last Populist Hero in Sacramento"

Consider this when gauging the shallow thought process of the "Thespian Left in Hollywood".

Rob "Meathead" Reiner and many others were the major contributors to Mayor Antonio Villaraogosa's recent "TROLL FOR DOUGH A-THON". Now the "Thespian Left" is circling their collective wagons to support another empty suit of symbolism prop up with telepromptive sound bites that passes for substance in the myopic world of the "Thespian Left".

And as for responses on Well's "Blacklisting Comments",

The controversy continued this week, as Drudge Report contributor and news site owner Andrew Breitbart inked his own Washington Times opinion piece about the brouhaha. Breitbart is also getting into the “poliwood” game with plans to launch a new group blog called BigHollywood, as part of his Breitbart.com news service, to appeal to the opposite end of the spectrum from Wells’ musings.

“The site will offer a daily repository for those interested and involved in the perspective of a growing community of Hollywood conservatives, Republicans and libertarians,” Breitbart told me via instant message over the weekend, calling his upcoming project “a safe haven for those out of the lefty mainstream.”

That will be easier said than done in the "Thespian Collective of Hollywood".......

That's a pretty weak effort to try and stir up controversy and generate hits for your site.

Isn't it possible that Voight and Wells are simply speaking for themselves, just trying to attract attention to themselves by saying something outrageous, and don't speak for anyone else?

Um, "Carl" Reiner wasn't the "Meathead" - you illiterate deadhead. That was his son Rob.

Carl's a fairly non-political (and VERY funny) guy. Rob, however, is a VERY political (and very NON-funny) guy.

Here's another one for free, Red Drip. There have been two president's named "George Bush" and the current one is the son of the first. I can send a diagram by e-mail, if you like (but it's pretty much a straight line up-and-down.

OH, and while I'm at it, MORON. If someone marries your daughter (e.g., Brad and Angelina), that doesn't make you his STEP DAD, no matter how "poetic" that may sound to you, you imbecilic DOLT. That makes you his FATHER-IN-LAW.

I won't even go into what a step dad is, Snot. It would probably take words with more than one syllable to explain it, and I'm JUST plain worn out.

Pretty weak effort to spin the dialog.

Jon Voight has appeared on radio shows and T.V. expousing his view points on Iraq and other issues.

Mr. Wells keeps alive the doublespeak of the intolerant left.

A "townhall meeting" is really a "indoctrination lecture".

"Tolerance" is really an exercise in "tolerating a specific viewpoint".

"Investment" is really "wasting more of your tax dollars".

Symbolism is substance......

one can go on and on.

I like to thank 10:15 AM for the corrections and the "Symbolic Wordspank", which was done in the best tradition of the tolerant one, Archie Bunker.

But someone mentioned "syllables" and that may regretably be a precursor to the dread Haikula.

It's really stretching what Red Spot does here, to call it "writing."

In terms of intellectual and political discourse, his posts are the alphanumeric equivalent of neanderthalic grunts.

Education is NOT a crime, RS, no matter what your cellmates told you at reform school.

Even if you were sick those 5-6 years when your friends were going over the "three R's,' don't you known someone, ANYone (your mother, maybe?), that passes for functionally literate, that would let you e-mail these things to them for a quick read-through before you blunder on ahead? And, geez, typos and that aside, the FACTS you misstate are ALL a Google search away.

It's not like the content is all that URGENT! Most information you drool out here has been on 50 other blogs already by the time you roll off the rollaway cot, drag your knuckles across the cement slab floor, and start abusing your keyboard.

TAKE the extra 5 minutes, dammit, and maybe someone will start taking you seriously, in return.

Good point.

Google, Ask.com, and Wikipedia make it so easy to check facts and get facts that it's almost like cheating.

My suggestion, RS, is that rather than be in such a hurry to post something, that you take an extra five minutes to check the facts, unless of course the facts only get in the way of a good posting.

I now have proof of how creepy Republicans are. They raise children who marry Billy Bob and wear his blood around their neck.

Everyone is asking what is that loser Hillary up to? She refuses to give it up and making the democrats look badly. I can't believe she just can't accept the fact that SHE LOST.
