Tenacity Applied

Home Depot finally made their first formal presentation to the Sunland-Tujunga community on Monday, May 12. This occurred after four years of ignoring numerous requests to do so. Here are two clips from the meeting.

The first features Tomi Lyn Bowling, a DAC (Design Advisory Committee) member grilling the Home Depot reps.
The second features Lloyd Hitt, a retired pharmacist, historian, activist, and local treasure, explaining geography, asthma, and reality to Home Depot.

You get bonus points if you can read the lips of Home Depot rep, VICA member, Francisco Uribe, at the very end of the second clip.

Enjoy.

The communities of Sunland Tujunga deserve a medal of honor for enduring four years of corporate manipulation and a four our DAC meeting that was an exercise in TONGUE BITING as Home Depot continued to lie, evade, circumvent and take no responsibility whatsoever. It took a tremendous amount of courage and restraint and I applaud the township. You are my heroes Sunland Tujunga. Yay you!

These Home Depot representatives remind me of the cigarette executives who went in front of congress and each declared that cigarettes were not harmful to ones health.
The home depot people are more pathetic though.

Couldn't have been stated better. The sound of the fork lifts and the back up horns going on and on. No respite- even during the week-end. No sleeping in for us. There is nowhere for the sound to go. It bounces off the mountains. Trash from open containers and sheets of plastic flying into the wash when the wind tunnels through the corridor. Just look how they maintain their other stores. Despicable! Please go somewhere else Home Depot. You are not welcome here.

The S-T DAC is awesome !
Tomi hit on the most important aspect of the impossibility of a HD presence so near to children. The project simply must not be allowed to continue. LACITY where are YOU for our children ??
BTW did that HD suit guy say Julie Kornstien was the Apperson Principal he reached out to ???

The DAC and the folks of S-T have the patience of Saints to so respectfully handle a bunch of bullys the likes of Home Depot.
