Wednesday Outtakes from the Red Spot Institute

Good morning to all in the "Sanctuary City of Angels".

The marathon slap fight that is the battle for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, goes verbal tonight as Obama and Hillary take the podium in their last debate of the 2008 election. By now one can ascertain that a Democrat will be President in 2009. (That includes McCain). Meanwhile our local contribution to "Team Hillary", Ace and Mike soldier on in their usual M.O. of blowing big leads in the states they grace.

In Alta California, the outgoing "STATE OFFICIAL WINE TASTER" seeks to walk off into the "political sunset" by supporting initiatives dealing with term limits, redistricting, and fund raising...........Back to reality, what member of the Villar Clan will have a bigger impact on Sacramento in the future, Antonio Villaraigosa or first cousin John Perez?? Meanwhile the flow of tax revenues into the state coffers trends downwards.

Locally, column inches continue to be dedicated to the examination of Villaraigosa's "State of the Pueblo, Cliche fest". LA Times Tim Rutten and The Daily News Editorial Board are the latest to opine. Meanwhile I would add that one should watch for the usual "politically connected non-profits" who will come calling for the "pork" from the new gang initiative. And on the gang subject, the "HOMEBOY BREEDER ON DREW STREET" was arrested and turn over to ICE for processing.

In the grass roots, speculation is rampant that the "ASS CLOWN FOR MARCH" will make a announcement tomorrow at the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council meeting that will have major repercussions for the "Las Villas Project". Tonight at the Montecito Senior Center in Montecito Heights, the Recreation and Parks Commission will meet. All eyes are on future agendas as the Southwest Museum/ Griffith Park saga comes front and center.

What's the truth to the rumor that the Sierra Club voted not to endorse Perez and that there's a movement to bring the matter up for a vote again at the next meeting (after it was already voted on) because "someone" wasn't happy with the previous results?

If that rumor is true, then either the Sierra Club endorsement isn't worth squat or there's some political manipulation and payola going on.

Answer please, as inquiring minds want to know.

Isn't this happening here in LA?

Former Newark Mayor Convicted In City-Land Corruption Case
Associated Press
NEWARK, N.J. -- A U.S. federal jury has convicted former Newark, N.J., Mayor Sharpe James and his ex-mistress of corruption stemming from the cut-rate sale of city land.

Mr. James was convicted on all five charges he faced, including fraud and conspiracy. His former girlfriend, Tamika Riley, was convicted on those charges, as well as the eight others she faced, including evading taxes and cheating to obtain subsidized housing assistance for herself.

Prosecutors had said that Mr. James abused his office and betrayed his constituents ...

I would think the rumor is true, because "someone" probably owes a favor to Villar for her appointment to a nice, cushy position within a city agency. "Someone" also commented that they were upset that the endorsement wasn't given and probably that "someone" caught flak for not getting Perez the endorsement. Now "someone's" career is probably on the line and "someone" is trying to save it.

Rutten's article sort of touches on the problem of L A, that there's one demographic that elected the Mayor (the taxpayers and home and business people, professionals etc. more than the city average, more white than the average) and another group that makes up the majority of the city, the ones with "needs," mostly brown. But he won't say these people are mostly also Illegal.

The ones who elected him and got a bunch of promises have seen less and less for their tax dollars, which keep going up. Sharon Brewer was right today: it's utterly unfair that only homeowners have to pay for the gang programs and cops with much higher trash fees, while the rest of the city, those who live in big apt buildings -- the areas where gangs flourish -- pay nothing. (And crazy Janice Hahn wants to put "her" property tax for more gang programs on the next ballot.)

Rutten also doesn't mention that the Mayor himself boasted that L A has the smallest middle class of any city in the country. So "those who elect" and pay the taxes are a smaller and smaller group, while those who "need," the illegals and other poor, are 2/3 the youth and school population.

Now the gang imtervention zones going into the "bad" areas like Ramona Gardens, Glassell Park (glad that Leon woman was finally taken into custody -- wouldn't have been if not for this public outcry over the Shaws) mean more taxes from this tiny group.

Who want the illegals who "need" to go back home, especially the gangbangers. Insane NOT to do so.

Rutten is also wrong that anyone of the middle class or wealthier ones (who go to private schools almost always, long ago having had their schools taken for illegals, and being too liberal to fight to not sound "racist," so they have no schools) cares about his schools initiative.

The more money that's going into the poorest schools, the less into the remaining pockets of surviving middle class and schools, almost all of them in the W VAlley. Steve Lopez' last column was about how the middle class areas get a lot less than the poor ones on purpose, since LAUSD counts on the parents to reach into their own pockets. Takofsky notes the anger over this, but has the WRONG typical leftist solution: more taxes.

Rutten's right that L A is "more ungovernable" than any other city because of this vast polarization, but the answer is NOT taxing the middle class more and more as the city's doing: the citizens want to get rid of the sucking noise from the underclass, which is getting so bad that Reyes is saying over and over that he wants to invade the westside with subsidized projects for his underclass: blatant communism.

(Alarcon and Huizar have said similar things, about housing and healthcare for illegals, because L A belongs to the MExican poor as "the capitol of Latinismo.")

Some guy from CD14, Carrione (he's mad at both Huizar and Reyes for his Las Villas) keeps showing up and has a valid point. Says he's a former gangbanger gone straight, trying to raise his son right: yet the city charges $18/hr for his kid to play soccer in a public park or school lot while all the money and special attention goes to the kids already with one foot in the gangs, la vida loca.

He's right: the city ignores those who do right and help their kids and others stay in sports, school and away from gangs, but pours all the money of the honest taxpyaers into programs for illegal gangbanging youths.

Maybe if Carrione were still in a gang, he'd get all kids of money for a program. Until the city gets rid of the illegals who cause the problems, it's all getting worse.

Walter Moore and Mayor Sam congratulations on helping Jamiel Shaw Sr. get the word out!!

I will bet that Maria Chata was finally arrested by ICE because of the publicity about the Jamiel Shaw case and SP-40. Why wasn't this woman arrested before, for being here illegally?

I hope ICE and LAPD finally get their act together so they won't be embarrassed again, by releasing known illegal alien gang members.

I remember reading that one of the 204st gang members, arrested for killing Cheryl Green is an illegal alien. I have been looking for an old news story about Cheryl Green, from the Daily Breeze but the stories are gone.

If Carreon (sp?) is the same guy I think he is (always angry, and starts out shouting "OK, stop talking to your staff, councilmembers, I'm speaking to you now") then he's also the guy that took them to task during the last city elections for posting their campaign placards illegally all over public property in his neighborhood.

Fiesta Broadway is in two weeks. Last year the city ate $166,655 thanks to Huizar giving them a special event waiver. Now that the city is in dire need of money will Huizar once again have the city abosrb fees & salaries for this huge corporate sponsored event?
They have McDonalds, Beer companies, phone companies etc. and still they get a free pass. I don't think so..

Illegals, schmillegals. It's all code for Mexicans, right?

Who's kidding whoms here? Since no one's wearing their green card on their sleeve, its pure guess work when anyone says "they" make up most of anything (be it "the city" or "the problem").

And anyone who say "Sharon Brewer was right" -- about ANYTHING, is either just plain nuts, or IS Sharon Brewer.

She almost makes Zuma Dogg seem sane.

5:28: Learn how to read, you moron, before you start going off at people who post articulate comments. No one ever said the Mayor was elected by the illegals, moron -- they're the "needy sucking noise," read the article if you can, after having gone to Semillas del Pueblo or wherever you learn Engleeesh,

Huizar spent almost $170,000 for that festival last year? He has El Grito, which even most Mexicans don't celebrate, Huizar's Winter Wonderland, and of course Cinco de Mayo and Blessing of the Animals. Who knows how many Mexican festivals there are or what they add up to.

If those women at Van Nuys and that Carrione guy who's always mad at Huizar and Reyes wanted to add these up and speak intelligently, maybe someone would listen. But I think people who show up every day and say the same things get tuned out.

Yep...the cholo mayor boasted that we have the SMALLEST middle class in America! The undocumented "Angelenos" (all 4M of them) have driven out the backbone of this city...the hard working American taxpayers, and they are getting a free ride. The mayor himself said that "No human being is illegal"...so...here's what we need to do with the 4M undocumented "ANGELENOS" in LA:

TAX 'EM!

1.) Gang surcharge or Fee. Every legal and undocumented "Angeleno" gangbanger MUST pay a "Domestic Terrorism" FEE or Tax.

2.) Squatter's Fee. For contributing to the excess carbon dioxide output in our already over-populated city.

3.) Undocumented "Angeleno" State Tax. To offset ER costs, police services, schools, etc.

4.) Tax on Cash wages. Every employer who picks up an undocumented "Angeleno" DL at Home Depot, for instance, must provide him with a special "undocumented "Angeleno" 1040 Form...before any cash wages are paid. Withholding taxes must be taken out of all cash salaries.

5.) Employers of undocumented "Angelenos" Tax.
If you hire an undocumented "Angeleno" gardener, for instance, you must pay an undocumented "Angeleno" gardener excise tax.

6.) DWP Tax or Fee for undocumented "Angelenos". A special surcharge for contributing to the water shortage and putting a burden on our power supply.

7.) Anchor Baby Tax.

8.) Remisa Tax. All remisas must be taxed...at least 15%.

And then...maybe we could start charging Mexico an "export" tax!

Every single blog except those of a few wacko leftists agrees with these postes on MS. Even the liberal LAT always gets blasted by readers for being naive and stupid, like Tim Rutten's article "explaining" that the city and country were just too incompetent to come up with a database of gangbangers and share it, to support SP40 being used not to ID gangbangers or do anything.

Over 60 comments in a row, clearly all different tones, slamming him for being a dumdum pro-illegal apologist. In his piece today, he was still afraid to touch the real problem: must be afraid of getting fired. That "Grave Dancer" Zell is apparently going after the Mexicans in town with his bilingual stuff, what does he care about this city or the paper, he even said so in so many words. His loyalty is only to Chicago and the Tribune, this city and Times are litter box fillers to him. Good reporters are expendible and everyone left is demoralized.

5:54 my apartment only has 8 units and it is a city trash truck that removes our trash. My DWP bill has the bill right on it, for trash pick up. Maybe it has to do with the size of the building, but my last apt. which was a 10 unit bldg. also had city trash trucks pick up our trash.
