Lame Home Depot Spin for All to See
Once in a while a comment gets bumped up to a main post. The following is some really rotten pro-Home Depot spin from this post followed of course by one of my snappy comebacks.

What did you expect being so bias with your NHDC and STNC fear campaigns? Anyone that would come to any of your town hall meetings in support of new development would be "tarred and feathered". It seems obvious to the majority of residents and now City Attorney that a fair and balanced group is needed for the benefit of this community. Stop spreading fear to rally support for your negative cause in this community - folks are beginning to wise up and no longer buy into it. The fear campaign is over here. Fear worked for Hitler and Stalin, for a while - well many years. But folks in Sunland-Tujunga are much wiser than that and will not subject themselves to this propaganda you're shoving. I encourage you to reconsider, open, objective and productive discussions that can only benefit this community - AND YOU.

So this is all Rocky can afford to try to spin for him in his waning days?
An idiot who compares opponents of HD to Stalin and Hitler? I may agree that the city shouldn't eat a large lawsuit on behalf of one community, but if this is the "legal defense team" our city is paying for in Rocky, we should all sure him for gross incompetence and taking the job under fraudulent circumstances.
@#$#, this is the same garbage Home Depot has been inflicting on Sunland-Tujunga for the past 3 1/2 years. They now say they want to negotiate with the Sunland-Tujunga community. In their dreams, no one should negotiate with this company whose reputation is in the toilet along side their partner Delgadillo and possibly others in the city!
Hey Stuart, how many paychecks in you bank account are from Home Depot? Or, are you getting a huge discount on your purchases. What community service do you do for Sunland-Tujunga? What community do you shop in for your major necessities? Please come and share with us at our Neighborhood Council meeting Wednesday night. Let's see how many people agree with you!
Hey Stuart - unlike you I actually live in this community and have many friends who live here. I don't know, or have met ANYONE from this community who is for the HD. Rocky's credibility has been shot, and this won't make it any better. I wonder if he's filled out his application to work for Lathim & Watkins yet, because he is just the kind of scumbag they want and need. Rocky is going to go down harder than he thinks....
There is a very nice whole city block development at foothill/commerce in which the owner/developer and the community worked together on and is promising to be a real plus for the community. Home Depot is only acting like it's playing nice now because their previous tactics did not work. Insofar as what Home Depot could do for the community it is also bogus. They way on it's bogus website homedepotsunaldtujunga.com that
"Each The Home Depot store gives, on average,more than $3,000 to the local community in itsfirst year of operation, and more than $1,200 per year after that.
Please, I've helped bring in that kind of money in Sunland-Tujunga with a couple good pancake breakfasts with the support of the neighbors and existing businesses with in the community.
Home Depot has destroyed any goodwill they had with S-T. If folks are thinking S-T is not going into mediation with an open mind, it is with good reason. Home Depot has treated us like a battered wife, thinking that we will forgive them for the last time they hurt us. Well S-T has had enough and reserves the right to fight this constant abuser and liar which is trying to scam the community with this nice talk of mediation....

It is interesing when the No Home Depot types face opposition or opinions that do not line up NHDC, you dismiss them as uninformed, nuts, Home Depot decoys, or losers. I do admire your passion though.
Don't take the Hitler Stalin fear comment personally. Fear has also workd for Hillary Clinton, but I believe voters are finally catching on to this tactic and manipulation.
Do I get paid by Home Depot, get any discounts, or profit from this corporation in any way? No.
To answer Mr or Ms. Anonymous#5. I have lived in this area all my life and have been around long enough to see President Kennedy in office.
It seems most of this group is way too angry, aggressive, and paranoid to be objective and reasonable, which underscores the need for a balanced group for the benefit of this community.
Good luck circling the wagons this Sat. I'm sure all in attendance will be in agreement and faces will be familiar. Maybe Mayor Sam will answer the question whether or not he's a Sunland-Tujunga area resident as well.
