BREAKING NEWS: Historic NoHo Building on Fire
This morning I stepped out of my home to hear fire engines and smell smoke in Downtown NoHo, as I hearded to work news choppers whirred overheard.
The LA Fire Department Blog is reporting that a greater alarm structure fire has broken out at 5303 Lankershim. That address is the newly opened Bank Heist Restaurant and Nightclub in the historic Security Bank building. One is reported injured.
Stay tuned to the LAFD blog for updates - and please pray for the victim and that this beautiful treasure survive.

This story points out how lazy our local journalists are. Reports on the TV stations websites - where they have them - say its a commercial building - period. No mention of a) its historic over 80 year reign at that corner and b) its recent success as a hotspot and part of the revival of Downtown NoHo. How hard would it be to find that out?

It's 2008, the "Year of the Frog" to "generate public awareness and understanding of the amphibian extinction crisis which represents the greatest species conservation challenge in the history of humanity!!!!
