Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday
Not too long after Mayor Villaraigosa declared NFL football dead at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum talk started anew of a stadium in Chavez Ravine. But I don't think its going to happen. The NIMBY/CAVE/BANANA movement is just too strong and it will take years to get through the lawsuits alone. The honest truth is private landowners just don't have rights anymore.
This sounds like something out of a Sanford and Son episode: Thieves are stealing copper wire from streetlights. Its expensive to replace and before it's fixed a significant number of streetlights in a community will remain off. The valuable material can catch quite a pretty penny from recyclers. Which makes it even dumber that radio station KPCC posts an article showing you the tools necessary and the steps to take for anyone who wants to join in on this thievery.
The City of Los Angeles wants to blanket the City with free wireless internet. That's good for Zuma Dogg and anyone else who wants to remote blog; the problem is no city government yet has been able to figure it out. However, a number of non-profit community based initiatives are working well. How about leaving it to the private sector?
Just about every politician in Los Angeles has a plan to raise taxes and cries poverty when it comes to the municipal budget. However the Daily News reports that the City has wasted millions of dollars mismanaging state and federal grants. In an audit of the process, City Controller Laura Chick found there is no tracking or central management of grants leading to missing out on some grants or spending more money to get the grant than the grant is worth.
The MTA loses nearly $7 million a year to fare scofflaws who don't adhere to it's "honor system" of no turnstiles on it subway and rail lines. Now the MTA is considering putting in East Coast style gates on the entrance to the lines, requiring a fare payment to ride. However, some idiot writing in the Former Local Fishwrap of Record thinks that the multi-million dollar fare loss is a small "price to pay for the architectural and aesthetic benefits" of the stations' "openness."
How do you get to do a major real estate development and trick the NIMBYs and local Clowncilman to get on board? Dig up historic plans that show your project was supposed to be there all along.
I don't know how I missed this, but over a month ago Luke Ford reported a woman who looks a lot like a television reporter we all knew and some (well one) loved checked into Sherman Oaks Hospital's maternity ward.
Fellow Mirthala Banger Speaker Fabian Nunez's spending sprees are going to mess it up for all the other pols. The California Fair Political Practices Commission is considering regulations to crack down on the use of campaign funds for personal use.
LAist calls Clown Prince of the City Clowncil Tom LeBong a "grinch" for claiming the DWP's annual holiday light show in Griffith Park is "green." Critics say the event is far from green especially considering the fact that LeBong and the DWP have banned bicyclists from riding the city streets through the show in contravention of state law.

Don't try to make a story where none exists. Antonio got a vasectomy and most people know that. It's not one that is going to come "undone". He had it done for permanence.
That is an old rumor and whether or not Mirthala Salinas was checked into a hospital or not is irrelevant because IF she was, guess what?
She is a bigger slut than some imagined because no sooner did she and Antonio break up, then she's pregnant?
I doubt it.
Maybe whoever she was with is, but it isn't her and IF it is, it doesn't belong to Antonio.
But that probably doesn't fit into your rumor plan, huh. Oh well.
Merry Christmas, but the mayor can't get anyone pregnant and you're pissed because you all so wanted it to be.
Mayor Sam said:
Boy I hope you got paid for that spin! And who said the Mayor knocked Mirthala up?
Do you have us on alert?
Say hi to Uli!

Nobody said it tonight. You insinuated it. I've read it here before. It's an old rumor. Nobody pays me to spin, but if I'm good at it, perhaps I'll look into that.
Who is Uli?

Mayor Sam the blogger is right. Mirthala's anchor baby presupposes Antonio has a penis.

Following the Council vote knowing that Home Depot was defeated Mayfield smiled broadly. Her friend from Sunland-Tujunga, Constance Henderson, stated smugly "We've held the Mexicans at bay a bit longer."

Hey Mayor Sam, you DID insinuate it by referring to the timing as well as the pre-existence of the relationship. Own up! And this blog certainly entertained a lot of bogus speculation about the same subject a few months back when it was just an effort to slime the parties involved.

I'm glad there's no more Antonio Villaraigosa babies.
Why? Because he would have trotted them out before the cameras for SYMPATHY instead of being its father.
Did you see how Villaraigosa's family photos are no longer on the city's website banner? He USED them to get elected and ABANDONED them when Mirthala came along.
Just like he abandoned his Council seat. Just like his father abandoned him.

If 11:26 PM isn't paid to spin for MAV, I pity the fool.

Don't you love how AV spinners post on here and slam poor Mayor Sam. Yet, this is the blog that posted months back before the Daily News ran with the story of Antonio's affair with Mirthala. WE have a mayor who had an affair which was reported all over the nation, embarrassed this city by not doing his job, used taxpayer dollars to drag his security detail to her house, and then when she was all used up dumped her after she lost her job. Lesson to be learned here is "once a cheater, always a cheater." Now, all Antonio is doing is taking credit for everyone elses' accomplishments cause he has none of his own. How pathetic!!!

Don't you find it interesting that when something goes wrong in city depts. clowncil members immediately call for the heads of those depts. and questions them about their duties. Why hasn't Cynthia Ruiz been called to the table to explain what she has done about the copper thefts and why she didn't say anything about it since its been going on since the Summer?

I've never seen mailboxes in downtown LA. I hope someone investigates and checks to see where the mailbox is near the Cathedral.
....The cardinal told police he was walking near the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels downtown to drop off letters in a mail box when he was confronted by a man shouting obscenities, Vernon said.

Can we make a list of the all putos who slipped Mirthala the sausage?

Controversial DWP water and power rate hikes stalled Wednesday as Los Angeles city leaders demanded that the nation's largest municipal utility answer a growing number of questions and better justify the need.
Three City Council members called for at least a two-month delay so Department of Water and Power officials can provide more information about the proposed increases. Under the plan, electric rates would rise 9 percent over three years and water rates would climb 6percent over two years.
DWP officials unanimously approved the rate hikes in October, despite criticism that the massive utility has for years mismanaged its money and that its workers are among the highest paid in the city.
CAN THEY INCREASE RATES IF COUNCIL SAYS NO?

In many cities a post office box is placed at the church of the priest who is the chaplain of the post office department and fire department in the area. Same for fire boxes.
Rank has its priveliges. We have to drive to the post box.

I don't get the city council is suddenly up in arms about the DWP rate increases. Well I do, the public is finally paying a little attention and they (the CMs) are getting scared that they will pay the price(not get re-elected)...but I digress. If the city is transferring the DWP surplus to the general fund every year, how can they even question the DWP. Stop taking the surplus to run the city because you can't work within your own budget. Dedicate that surplus money to upgrading our infrastructure. Geez... the city council members really do think the residents of Los Angeles are a bunch of morons. Hopefully they are starting to realize we aren't so stupid after all.

Tony Cardenas was saying something in council about an agreement that was made with owens Valley costing something like $400 million. What was that about and what is LA doing business with them for?

If Mirthala is pregnant, will she give up the baby just as Antonio did with his first son?
Somewhere out there exists Antonio's oldest son, probably around 35-37 by now.
Who is the reporter that is going to scoop this story when this guy is found?

Boston firefighter stabbed
By Laurel J. Sweet
The Boston Herald
BOSTON — A Boston firefighter is mending from what could have been deadly stab wounds he suffered early yesterday morning when he was allegedly jumped in East Boston while off duty by a group of Hispanic males who told him they "don't want any gringo here."
Though police are not classifying the incident as racially fueled, the Boston Police Department's Community Disorders Unit is investigating. The 32-year-old jake, whose name officials were not releasing, is white.
Ironically, the firefighter's life was likely saved because he sought refuge from his alleged assailants at Engine 5 on Saratoga Street - the station house he's assigned to.
"Fortunately, those firefighters were not out on a call," said Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald.
MacDonald said the firefighter had gone to Chivas Restaurant in Day Square to grab takeout when "six guys started exchanging words with him. He indicated he was just there to get a sandwich and that he was a firefighter. They pushed him."
Hoping to avoid a confrontation, MacDonald said the firefighter got into his car and headed for his station for safety's sake, but the pack followed him on foot. It was shortly before 2:45 a.m.
"As soon as he got out of his car, six guys jumped him and started kicking and punching him," MacDonald said. "He felt two sharp pains in his chest and knew he had been stabbed."

The Cardinal wants to get compassion from his people. HE IS SUCH A SAD EXAMPLE TO CRISTIANITY. HE IS JUST AS GUILTY AS THE PRIEST THAT COMMITED THOSE ABUSIVE ACTS ON INNOCENT CHILDREN. HE KNEW THIS PRIEST WAS A MOLESTER AND CHOSE TO COVER UP TO PROTECT HIM. THE CARDINAL MOST BE PROSECUTED JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CRIMINAL AND KICK OUT OF THE CHURCH.

MS, not sure exactly what your position is on the Pantages development, but I like it a lot because it's right across the street from the Red Line, it would have higher class, more modern office space than that area is used to, and the throwback art deco design could turn it back into a real Hollywood landmark. Now if they can do it with the platinum LEED standard, they will get a huge thumbs up from this part of the Valley.
