*****BREAKING NEWS***** "Emergency!, Phone Tax going to the Ballot"

The "SPRING STREET RINOS", Councilman Zine and Smith proved themselves the municipal versions of the "RINO KENNEDY REPUBLICAN".

In a time when fiscal leadership is wanting, the "SPRING STREET RINOS" punted. They voted with the other members of the "PEOPLE'S COUNCIL", to place a "ILLEGAL TAX CUT" on the ballot.

As Marlon Brando said in his classic movie role in "On The Waterfront", and prophetic for the "SPRING STREET RINOS", "I could of had class, I could of been a contender, I could of been someone". Now you are just an example of "what if".

It is no stretch to say that Los Angeles can become the 21st Century version of a "BANKRUPTED NEW YORK CITY". Zine and Smith passed on a momentous opportunity to draw a "FISCAL LINE IN THE SAND" .

Now, get ready for a populist backlash aimed at the "ADDICTS OF SPENDING" in City Hall. For addicts, sometimes hitting rock bottom is the best path to recovery. To Zine and Smith, leaders your not, and in 10 minutes the "John and Ken" lashing will commences.

*****This comment from "RINO ZINE":

Both men met privately with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa partway through the council meeting. Once that 25-minute closed-door session was over, Zine said the loss of the telephone tax money could result in the layoffs of police officers or reductions in city services -- and therefore qualified as an emergency.

*****CALL A "SPRING STREET RINO" to vent.*****

Dennis Zine (213) 473-7003
Greig Smith (213) 473-7012

And now, our Bard. (Steps aside to let Bard pass)

Il nome suo nessun saprà... O loro di determinata fama del pirata!
Sparisca, o Clowncil con stupido le tasse! Regolisi, stelle! Regolisi, stelle! All'alba vinceremo! vinceremo! vinceremo!”

(Crew applauds) Well done, Bard. Tonight a toast to your fine performance at our local tavern of habit. Oh, and before I forget.... A nessun wankers, grida i bambini o i perdenti sconfitti permessi. Bull...they said if we passed Prop 13 there would be no trash, no hospitals, no police and we did fine. I'ts only that we are giving away benefits to the undocumented that is draining us dry.

Dont you realize that when 10 undocuments live in the same apartment, the tax on one phone is $10.00 while the rest of us pay for each phone, each computer, each line in every office, a phone for a child who has school. The middle class is being raped by the Mayor and the Councilmen.

REDUCE WASTE! REDUCE BENEFITS TO THE UNDOCUMENTED AND THE ANCHOR BABIES. REDUCE SECTION 8, REDUCE FREE HOSPITALIZATION TO THE UNDOCUMENTED.

If we did that we wouldnt need another tax.

ZD would actually have to pay a tax? Zounds.

Maybe he can get one with an out of state number so as not to have to pay the local taxes.

I mean, we're adding another expense to beg for on his blog, along with coffee, gas, food and bus fare.

NC's were against this from the get go. thanks to the internet, talk radio and blogs the people know the truth. We are living in the worst city in the nation thanks to the lame brains in office. 6:07 pm: If you're going to talk about "morons" and "stupid is as stupid does" and cowards, at least start spelling "Bafoons" correctly.

To the one who said turnover of private homes has raised their tax revenue by ten percent a year until THIS year (somethng council never mentions, only loss of the "other" phone tax), yes, they have lived high without a regard for responsibility. But more the usual lefties -- Alarcon, Hahn, Reyes... the same ones always wanting more.

Bizarre how a number of CM's praised Hahn for withdrawing "her" $40/ parcel "avg" (means much higher for many, like those who've subsidized the city so far), over what a brace sacrifice "she" is making.

Let's let Chick do her audit before raising taxes any more. But it's not the Mayor's fault really -- he's actually stuck trying to sell this thing after he's presented with the dilemma.

Fee waivers should be limited to a certain amount per district, so the few who most abuse them (Hahn again and a few Hispanics), reign it in. Some others use them very lightly, and they're a useful neighborhood benefit used within reason.

Other things should be made clear: how can the DWP be short on funds for infrastructure of powerlines, yet turn over millions to reduce the city's deficit? This loophole like the one at state level, letting the Republican crooks steal our "excess" gas taxes to the tune of $1.3 billion, which our voters had specified was to go to transportation and mass transit, must be closed. Transparency!

But NOW it's suicidal for you guys to advocate voting down the tax. Given the way they've managed the city, they'll cut cops or LAFD or make road repairs even scarcer.

They need better FUTURE management.

Dennis Zine is a coward. Of all people, he should know the midget mayor (sorry Mayor Sam I couldn't help it!) isn't going to pull cops off the street now that he is bragging that he is half way to hiring his goal of 1000 new cops. What did the midget mayor (sorry again Mayor Sam it just seems so natural) promise Loser Zine? He would support his unsustainable mega-development at Warner Center? Losers, they are all losers. Sixth months ago I couldn't have given a shit about Los Angeles politics, but these assholes have pushed it too far. And I know many more people that are waking up just like I am. Payback is hell!!!

There is a large sucking sound in this city. We thought it was coming from City Hall, but we were mistaken.

The only difference between H's administration and V's administration is that V has expanded the tip jar to include every city service and V appointed bureaucrat.

The city bureaucrats have justified their need for more by running things into the ground.

If Chick's investigators ever found anything, she'd fire them. Ask Dan Carver how much he received from the city for wrongful termination.

Can't cut Rocky's budget. Without the biggest municipal law firm in the nation to protect them, the buroaches would be screaming "RAID!" as they scurried out of the building.

I'm watching the replay of today's council meeting....what a joke. Dennis Zine says, "I don't want to betray the public trust..." But I will! Greg Smith says "We can't make up our minds so we will let the voters decide" Yeah but we will stack the deck by declaring an "emergency" so it will have a better chance to pass. Wendy Gruehl is just dumb. Dennis Zine declares..."AN EMERGENCY IS APPROACHING!!!" The good news is that there are 9 exemptions and one is state and local governments. So the city won't have to pay the tax!!!!!!

i think angelinos feel relieved councilmember janice hahn “mother of gang violence” decided to wait on the gang tax momentarily, until november 2009. not! the gang tax will be used for non-profit organizations.

If hahn and councilmemebrs are sincere about fighting gang murders, council should stop giving the victims family a false sense of hope when introducing reward motions for information to solve a murder. council needs to allocate that reward money to police, so police can work overtime and solve these senseless killing. this will allow victims family a closure in their lives.

We really need the mayor to drive home the need for this tax. His city is at stake," said Councilwoman Janice Hahn.

Hypocrite!!!!! All of a sudden gang violence isn't that important to Hahn. Another kiss ass with no integrity. Zine and Smith are being blasted throughtout the city for being morons and failing to stand up. For months Zine has been telling people I'M AGAINST THE TAX. Then he flip flops. There are less officers on the street now so using scare tactics saying they will layoff cops is outrageous. Go ahead idiots!!!!
