Mayor Sam's Hot Sheet for Wednesday

Even though dietitians say its not an effective way to get people to eat healthy, goofy Jan Perry is still going through with her plan to ban new fast food restaurants in South Central. Unlike people in Studio City or Brentwood, Jan Perry feels that poor Blacks and Mexicans need the government's help to keep them thin.

Here's something to make you so sick you won't overeat - the thought of Governor Schwarzenegger talking about whether or not Mayor Villaraigosa wears pajamas to bed.

The City is in so much trouble that it needs to raise your phone tax to save it, but apparently the Clowncil still has time to conduct foreign policy. At the prompting of open shirted Bill Rosendahl, they passed a resolution calling for an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. How about a similar proposal urging the withdrawal of criminal alien gang members from LA?

Here's something good that hopefully will work: the City received $150 million from the State to install synchronized traffic lights which could cut down gridlock in some areas. Lets hope 1) the equipment they buy actually works 2) the City doesn't pay three to four times what they cost retail, and 3) they don't get stolen before they are installed.

An overweight blonde consulted her doctor for advice. The doctor advised that she run 10 miles a day for 30 days. This, he promised, would help her lose as much as twenty pounds.

The blonde follows the doctor's advice, and, after thirty days, she was pleased to find that she'd indeed lost twenty pounds.
She phoned the doctor and thanked him for the wonderful advice which
produced such effective results. At the end of the conversation, however, she asked one last question: "How do I get home, since I am now 300 miles away?"

I'll bet there are a lot of Iraqis who'd love to get all those fastfood restaurants.

Send them over there, and gain support for America. The people are pretty thin from years of deprivation so there's no need to watch their weight.

Promise them Big Mac's, hook them on KFC, and they'll love the jellyfilled at Dunkin' Donuts.

Or would they prefer Krispy Kreme?

All the radicals from Iran and the Taliban will sneak in to get some, and pretty soon, they'll be putting frothed milk in their bitter coffee and having lattes like Starbucks.

New entrepreneurs will spring ;up, maybe the blacks from Perry's hood, and we'll have true East-West rapprochement.

Oh, and don't forget the kid meals with the Happy Meal toys. Those will also promote American culture, as the kids will demand the movies and DVD's and merchandizing.

Maybe they can start making their own and be a competitor to China.

They can make their toys lead=free.

Iraqis will have Toysfor US stores.

L.A. City Council Saves Christmas... Parade
(CBS) HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Santa Claus will once again parade down Hollywood Boulevard.

Though, in March, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced will no longer sponsor the annual holiday parade, the Los Angeles City Council decided to throw its financial weight behind the effort and ensure that a procession will indeed be held in Hollywood.

The value of the city's sponsorship has not yet been determined, but City Councilman Tom LaBonge said other sponsors will be sought to help pay for the event. The Chamber of Commerce said it was dropping plans for the event after 75 years because it had lost about $100,000 staging the 2006 parade and losses were expected to double this year.

Officials noted that interest in the parade has waned in recent years among broadcasters willing to pay a rights fee to carry it and the viewing public. Approximately 15,000 people turned out for the parade last November.

And though the parade will go on, it will have a different name.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce owns the name "Hollywood Christmas Parade," so the revived event will be known as the "Hollywood Santa Parade." The new event will happen on the evening of Nov. 25 -- the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It will include the traditional mix of floats and bands. Bill Lomas of Pageantry Productions, based in Lynwood, will produce the parade.

"It's very important the parade continues," said LaBonge. "It's a great community parade."

LaBonge said they are still looking for a celebrity grand marshal. But he noted, "The grand marshal is all the people who come."

The event began in 1928 and was known as the "Santa Claus Lane Parade" until 1978. It was held annually except in 1930 and from 1942-44.

Comedian Joe E. Brown was the first grand marshal in 1932, a role later filled by such entertainment legends as Bob Hope, Gene Autry and James Stewart.

Recent grand marshals include Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, basketball legend Magic Johnson and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

George Lopez was the grand marshal of the 2006 parade, with Regis Philbin as the honorary grand marshal.

The city is in debt up the butt yet they always seem to find money when they need to.

......The council's decision brought immediate criticism over expansion of the tax as well as the city's belated recognition that the current phone tax probably violates taxpayer protections imposed by Proposition 218.

The mayor and concil need to be educated on issues. The unions get raises, DWP gives millions to general fund, $82 million wasted on gang programs, over $20 million wasted on special event waivers and they have the nerve to tax us. Hell no!!

If all you can get for a grand marshal is Villaragoza, then you are screwed. Nobody is interested in the parade. Time to stop throwing good money after bad.

The tax was supposed to sunset years ago but LA kept taxing people illegally. So, yes, currently we are paying the illegal tax. The vote would only make the current illegal tax legal.

$150 million to install synchronized traffic lights? Are you kidding me? REALLY!!! Why do you need fiber optic lines between traffic lights? That's exactly what is requested, you know. Wouldn't wireless be sufficient, for far less cost? Hell, I don't have fiber or broadband to my home!!!

Just for your information, this is what is actually happening. Fiber optics links from traffic lights to a central receiving computer allows cameras to be inserted at the traffic lights and will allow realtime photos of all street goings on, throughout the city. Talk about surveillance!!! Talk about Big Brother!!! That is the actual intent of this project. (heh, did you really believe that the Fascist Politicians would provide $150 million to turn off/on traffic lights?)

Change the theme of the parade without telling the participants:

Do like in Europe, in stead of a normal parade, have a tomato fight. Everyone gets a bag of tomatos to throw at the grand marshall, and 2nd rate has been stars and nutzo politicians.
Would be more fun, and better TV>
