Since the City of Los Angeles website no longer deems it necessary to broadcast the City Council meeting in English (only Spanish feed is available on Villaraigosa's lacity.org website), Zuma Dogg's ZumaTimes.com website will continue to carry the English feed. 28 arrested in crackdown on illegal immigrants with gang ties

In an ongoing crackdown, 28 foreign nationals suspected of having ties to street gangs in the San Fernando Valley were arrested by federal agents this morning during sweeps throughout Los Angeles County.
The arrests concentrated on members of 15 gangs, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said.
Among them was Jorge Torres, 31, a reputed member of the Project Boys in Pacoima whose criminal record includes convictions for drug violations as well as battery on a police officer, officials said. Torres, who has been deported five times, has been indicted by the U.S. attorney's office on charges of reentry after deportation.
If convicted, he faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
Today's sweep is part of an ICE crackdown on illegal immigrants with gang affiliations in the San Fernando Valley, beginning with a sweep in September that resulted in nine arrests. Those arrested today are believed to have ties to the Canoga Park Alabama, San Fer, Vineland Boys, Blythe Street and Project Boys gangs.
Of those arrested, 21 are illegal immigrants and seven had legal residency status that is now being revoked, officials said. Most are from Mexico; others hail from Guatemala and El Salvador.

In addition to promoting their agenda, such as a bill that would give legal status to certain undocumented children brought to the U.S., Latinos said they also are battling state and local anti-immigrant initiatives around the nation. And in some cities, like Hazelton, Penn., they are succeeding. A federal judge this summer told the city that it couldn't punish employers who hired illegal immigrants or landlords who rented to them.
IDIOTS!!!! Of course the gang banging Mayor will be there to support the illegals. These idiot Latinos won't get it til they are victimized by one of the illegal gang bangers. GOOD FOR ICE going after the gang bangers all over LA. WAtch the morons come out and say something about their rights. I say ICE should sweep downtown LA garment district and city hall where there are dozen of illegals working that should be deported. Traffic will not be as bad if LA started sending these law breaking uneducated, non English speaking people who live in filth back to Mexico
