I think its absolutely ridiculous the City does not or can not place the English feed of the meetings online.
However I have asked Zuma to change the headline of this article. I understand his frustration and absolutely the Mayor needs to act - but is the Mayor really a Mexican nationalist? This could have easily happened under Poopy Hahn as well. I don't know.
You will see that I am going to attempt to elevate the conversation around here a little bit. We don't need to point out people's race unless for some reason it matters. Liberals do it all the time, it just gets in the way of the actual issue at hand.
Now the difference however between (most) liberals and I is that I am not going to mandate you people not make pejorative comments. You can still do it. But I am going to use the bully pulpit and the free market of ideas to encourage you not to. Though I still own the joint and if something is really off the wall, useless, and making it inconvenient for the readers to read all the posts, I may just delete it.

I hope the police officers who are being sued over the so-called "May Day Melee" in McArthur park get a copy of this video and hand it over to the attorneys who will be defending them against the multitude of frivolous lawsuits being filed. How does the LAPD have a chance in court when the mayor is doing his best to whip the crowd of illegals and protestors into a frenzy? Having seen this video for the first time, I think the Mayor shoulders a lot of the responsibility for what happened that day!!! Man if I was running against the mayor in the next mayoral election, I know what my first TV campaign spot is going to be!!!

That's true. I remember a few years back the city set up a fake bus accident with a video tape and you could see all the people getting on the bus after the fact and then falsely claiming they were injured from an accident that never happened. I would LOL but for the fact it is not funny.

Judge grants request to block U.S. government plan on illegal labor

SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal judge today granted a request by labor and civil liberties organizations to temporarily block the U.S. government from proceeding with a plan to crack down on businesses who may be employing illegal immigrants.
U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer said the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security could not go ahead with a plan to send joint letters warning businesses they'll face penalties if they keep workers whose Social Security numbers don't match their names.
Breyer said the new work-site rule would likely impose hardships on businesses and their workers.
"The plaintiff's have demonstrated they will be irreparably harmed if DHS is permitted to enforce the new rule," Breyer wrote.
The so-called "No Match" letters were supposed to start going out in September, but labor groups and immigrant activists filed a lawsuit claiming the plan would put a heavy burden on employers, and could cause many authorized immigrants and U.S. citizens to lose their jobs over innocent paperwork snafus.
The government, however, argued that the rule doesn't impose an expense, and some businesses want to avoid liability for hiring undocumented workers.
On Oct. 1, Breyer requested time to consider the legal arguments presented by government attorneys and plaintiffs, which include the AFL-CIO, the American Civil Liberties Union, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a number of other business and labor groups.
A large portion of the mismatches in the Social Security Administration's records are believed to stem from illegal immigrants who make up fake Social Security numbers to get a job.

In a scathing self-critique, the LAPD on Tuesday blamed the May 1 MacArthur Park melee involving officers, immigration protesters and journalists on a series of fateful decisions by police commanders that escalated hostilities and resulted in a widespread breakdown in discipline and behavior by officers.
There's a lot of trouble with the feed in general, the live tv feed goes dead fairly often these days. For hours at a time. Wassup? too bad it's not on the days zuma fool or matt mutt are there, but when there's something significant being discussed.

how about all the endless hours i have spent speaking with people in CD 14 (who contact me) about their problems with Huizar and Mayor. Many of whom, speak spanish...but they don't seem to mind if i am an english-only speaking white boy. (Because they sure don't feel their spanish speaking elected officals are THEIR spokesmen -- so they call me. (LOL...the people of huizar's district hounds me constantly on CD 14 issues (and he knows that, himself), since those bitch-ass non-representaives (villarhuizar) aren't doing the job. how sad.)
Do YOU only stick up for someone if they look and speak like YOU? That's the problem with a few of the elected officials in L.A. They think they are only there to represent people who speak their native languange/same ancestory/etc. When you become an elected official, you have to represent ALL PEOPLE AS ONE. This is to the Hispanic ethnic supremacist ("Anonymous" in Bold) with his Spanish-language mantra ("yes, illegal aliens if they're Hispanic can own the United States because they're Hispanic and the laws of a country not their own don't apply to Hispanics")...that ruling you pasted is "TEMPORARY." That is, it "BLOCKS (TEMPORARILY)" a federal order while the details can be worked out.
I guarantee you and all other Hispanic ethnic supremacists that the laws of this United States are going to be upheld and that illegal aliens will be sent packing. The vast majority of U.S. citizens demand it. The day anyone can establish that Hispanics/Latinos have some "inalienable right" to access, use, remain in and exploit the United States and it's resources, in violation of our laws, is the day you Hispanic ethnic supremacists can claim you're in the right. Until that time, you're in the wrong and the vast majority of U.S. citizens have little to no patience remaining with your baseless claims and insults about the laws of the U.S. and it's citizens.
Hispanic ethnic supremacists always call other people -- especially "Anglo Saxons" -- "racist" and such, because Hispanic ethnic supremacists are themselves obsessed with their own "race" (though Hispanic/Latino is an ethnicity, it's not a race but few Hispanic ethnic supremacists seem to comprehend this).
It's not a case of your "race" or your "rights" if you're illegally in the U.S., it's a case of your illegal behavior. If you don't even understand what "laws" are as to countries other than your own (mostly Mexico, from the statistics), no amount of skin color or DNA typing is going to make any difference in your situation. What you need are improvements in character. Maybe Mexico can help you with that. Once you're back in Mexico.
I spent a lot of sleepness nights learning and paid a lot of money to learn languages other than my own (which is English, I'm a U.S. citizen with a few centuries of citizens as ancestors, all of whom arrived here legally). I devoted my own time and resources to learn other languages, did the work required to do so, paid for it myself, bought as much competent instructive material as was required, devoted the time and study required...did whatever was necessary to learn other languages.
I don't go to Europe and "demand" interpreters and translators and that everyone in my vicinity (and in the media) speak to me in "my language," I make a very big effort to prepare before arriving to be able to interact in whatever language the country is that I'm visiting.
Why can't so many Spanish-language-speaking people ever behave reasonably with others in this regard, specifically? If you're in a country where the language most used is not your own, why aren't you (all) applying yourself in your own time and at your own expense to learn how to communicate in English? What's the problem there? You can go to bookstores and buy tapes and dictionaries like anyone else, so why aren't you?
Another thing: a legal immigrant has to display a working knowledge of English inorder to, in fact, qualify for legal residency (anything other than a tourist visa). It's a given that the vast majority of people in the U.S. who can't speak or undertand English or won't, for whatever reason, are not here legally, but are the runofthemill illegal alien exploiting our nation.
You can't expect to be hired for a job designing cars, for example, if you don't know anything about designing autos. Same reasoning applies to languages: if you want to "qualify" within a culture, you learn how to communicate with that culture -- you don't force your way onto others and then demand they suit your purposes instead. The only people I know who do that are invading forces and illegal aliens (that is, it's not a friendly act to force onesself onto others, culturally or otherwise and people who engage in that behavior reveal themselves as not of good intentions).
Legal immigrants do what's required while in their native countries to apply themselves as possible, future U.S. citizens: they learn English, they pass health screenings, they prove themselves of good character, they apply themselves and their own resources to doing what's required inorder to meet standards asked for legal immigration and residence/citizenship afterward.
Illegal aliens all seem to share the same bad character, however: bad character, selfish self-gratification based upon egotistical demands of others in violation of existing legal and socio-cultural standards. Usually, here in the U.S., it's called "crime."
Talk about the truth these illegals who continue to come to LA aren't like the ones of years when my parents grew up. None of my parents or relatives were on welfare and they didn't expect things given to them free. They were all legal, spoke English, had beautiful yards and had their kids go to college and not become drop outs. These illegals refuse to assimilate into our society and think everything should be given to them. KFI had some great issues on LA looking like a garbage dump because of them. Reyes and Huizar should be ashamed because they do nothing about their districts looking like pig pens because of the illegals. They must love filth and criminals.
Actually, Reyes mostly, also Huizar and Alarcon, talk often about how angry they are that the CMs who represent the valley and westside are not more enthusiastic about pushing city services into his district. But these people are fed up with already paying too much in taxes for too little, and are angry at their CMs for not doing enough for them, not fighting hard enough to get them the services they're paying for. Reyes is the one who's not realistic about the whole city.
If he, Huizar and Alarcon's districts seceded, the rest of the city would be better off (we'd keep Watts, since the blacks are longtime Americans, not even here by their own choice originally). But how would the Hispanics govern and pay for themselves?
Brewer is talking about spinning off the poorest schools into their own separate school district, with a separate Supervisor (who'd report to him?), but it seems his plan is still to use the "rich" valley and westside to pay for them, too.
What about the $55 million LAUSD's payroll system overpaid to teachers while some didn't get paid? Brewer says he's working on getting it back, but nothing so far. After over a hundred million for the system and ten more trying to fix it, still nothing. Or the millions for fraudulent credit card purchases? The schools controller is worse than useless.
Meanwhile, Reyes wants his valley and westside colleagues to pressure their constituents to subsidize their immigrants and illegals, while all those people want is to put their own taxes toward their own streets, services and schools.
Reyes, Huizar and Alarcon need to make their communities more self- sufficient, instead of socialist demands from those who are thinking about moving to where their money could buy them a nice lifestyle, if they didn't have to carry the whole lower classes on their backs.

We could have guessed that Judge was appointed by President Clinton. Hillary had to have her hand in this way to ensure not evicting illegals without Villa having to do too much.
