NON-PROFIT CORRUPTION AT CITY HALL?: It's been something that ZD has been working his way up to since he stumbled up "Special Event Fee Waiver" abuse (thanks to a City Hall insider who showed him agenda life, outside general public comment). Then ZD started hearing terms like "ghost employees", "front-end loaded management contracts", Charter schools like Semilla, CM spouses sitting on boards and City Hall staffers running multiple non-profits (and in both cases these non-profits are handed public money from the city's fund; only to have inappropriately excessive amounts of money go to the friends, family members, cronies, and elected officials, some of whom await plum board appointments (and the salaries and perks), when they leave office. (Approve the money now, get a salaried appointment later.) There's a reason why they have to keep raising taxes and fees (like today's solid waste fee removal hike)...they are handing out way too much of the City's money to themselves and their cronies, assosiates, family and friends. I WONDER IF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY READS MAYOR SAM! MAYBE I SHOULD EMAIL HIM THIS THREAD!
ZUMA DOGG PUBLIC COMMENT: On non-profits, Villargarcia's appointment of his paid muppet he spent private money raised from people awaiting project approval from the mayor, Yoli Aguilar to some "facilitation committe" between the shady career-over mayor and the biggest threat to the City...the new Villargarcia 4-3 majority school LAUSD school board. If you are interested in knowing how the door can be slammed in the public's face, while the mayor's posse tries to move forward with their mayoral takeover scheme that has been ruled illegal by The United States Federal Court. Well as we all know with Antonio, the law never stops him. And LAUSD's budget is double that of the City of Los Angeles' entire budget...PLUS, the $20 billion plus construction budget. To read more on how we gotta watch out for the old Riordan crew (same cast as always) is trying to kill the inspector general, kill the committee process, kill public input, allow the Superintendent to spend $3 million dollars without board approval (massive increase, y'all), require a majority vote BEFORE a board member may even be allowed to ask a question they are about to vote on; and more information from past mayoral takeover attempts with the AB 1381 crew, that may predict what can be expected in the future. Especially, since it is already happening. (See July 3, 2007 "Annual Order of Business" board meeting where the whole thing was sent over from the mayor's office; public had no input; none of it went through committee; and the agenda itself creates way more beuracracy than it solves. I think our City is doomed under Villaraigosa, to be quite honest. I really hope they snatch his ass on something and kick him the f*ck out of town. I think this guy is a true threat to our City's safety and future. HE'S GOTTA GO!!! PEOPLE, HOW DO WE GET ANTONIO OUT OF OFFICE?!?!? THIS GUY HAS GONE FAR ENOUGH!!! THANKS LAURA CHICK: As reported below by Red Spot in CD 14 below, Chick balks at Marcus Allen contract. Last week and LA Times story and CM Dennis Zine's comments at the Council meeting, brought to the attention of Zuma Dogg and Mayor Sam bloggers see story here potential conflict of interest with the appointment of Controller Chick's consultant, Marcus Allen; who is also a consultant to City Hall and consultant to powerful City Hall lobbyists.
So I am glad, that although Laura felt she would be able to manage the situation through human "firewalls" (trusting that Mr. Allen will keep the lines separate); and although there may be no law against it; that did not prevent her from responding to public concern over this potential contract, and made the decision to drop the contract.
I know that the level of scrutiny can sometime filter out otherwise valuable assets to the City. Some say Marcus is the man, and could be a tremendous asset to the City. Unfortunately, the City does not have a track record that allows the public to share the trust Ms. Chick has in Mr. Allen's ability to keep such information in his head encrypted.
So thanks for honoring that on behalf of all concerned citizens. And remember, to those who say, "YOU IDIOTS, WE JUST LOST A VALUABLE RESOURCE!" Perhaps he could have stepped down as consultant to the lobbiest. Perhaps a contract with the lobby firm may have prevented that, though? Unfortunately, it sets a very bad precident for some reasons mentioned in the article see comments here
AND FOR A GOOD LAUGH...Did you know that some organization is out there putting together one of those "opposition research" pieces of Zuma Dogg, with all his "BEST OF" material that they will propogandize with "distortion" and attach lies and mistruths and take out of context, like they do here. Meanwhile the story is, how hilarious is it that someone (and I assure you it is not the ZD's myspace friends) has a team of some pretty highly organized IT people putting it all together. WOW!!! I REALLY HAVE ARRIVED...I BETTER RUN FOR MAYOR SO ALL HIS, I MEAN THIER EFFORTS DON'T GO TO WASTE! Zuma Dogg...West-siiiiiiiiiiiiied!!!!!

That's classic, textbook "word salad."
The reader can tell something might be in that, but there are so many half-formed ideas coming and going, distractions and non-sequiturs, it's utterly fatiguing and leaves the thoroughly confused reader with barely enough energy to "turn the page."

Yep many non-profits including some of those non-profit housing advocates that were there yesterday in city hall.
We should be densifying where it is supposed to be. Not venice and venice beach and not the surrounding communities of downtown. Downtown has a general plan that should have called for residential density a long time ago.
There are 6 projects up for approval for affordable housing for the homeless on next weeks Downtown Neighborhood Council agenda. As long as these developers build these high rises , these low income developments will benefit. It is the areas outside of downtown that are the worry.

11:11: Remember, zuma has no subconscious mind (or mind at all, but that's another matter) because, as the Dr. Freud points on on newer post, for normal people, the Superego keeps the Ego and Id suppressed most of the time, so the person doesn't blurt out anything at random at any time (hence, looking like an idiot).
But Zuma has no Superego or Id, so he blurts and looks like an idiot all of the time. So now we have it as a medically-certified fact.
