Zuma Dogg's Citywide Strategy Session For Increased Innovation, Creativity, Productivity & Leadership

Are you surrounding yourself with the kind of people, radio, books, internet, music and TV that helps put you in the most creative, innovative and inspired state of mind?

Or do you go down the path of video game playing, “Wheel of Fortune” watching, media-conditioned, tranced-out denial-bunny?

I wish elementary school readers would read this story because the first thing society starts to do in the parental and educational process is start to strip away uniqueness and creativity (conformity helps keep things simple) and impose all sorts of limiting beliefs and fears to keep others in check.

Maybe I should make a YouTube rap song to tell kids that your mind is capable of much more than some people give you credit for.

I will continue to create specifically worded material that I will post so we can all check in throughout the day, or week, to help re-focus our thoughts and minds in an innovative, creative and inspired direction so we can be more focused and motivated and can hopefully pass it along to staff and everyone else around you.

Zuma Dog,
You go dog!!! Dissent and divulgent views should always be encouraged...but, the maintstream media has value...they just need the blog counterbalance...sort of a "point, counterpoint"...I'm sure you'd admit that there are those that attempt to manipulative your views and that you too!...are sometimes "front'n"...God Bless America...home of the free...I will say that you too could be transformed from an outsider into one of "them" if you were inside...take Connie Rice: an outsider under Parks etc. and an insider under Bratton etc...now, she has no problem rubber stamping anything the insiders do...because she has a vested interest...

So far I count three mental masturbators having a circle jerk; ZD, Mr. Potato Head, and Matt Dowd, incense dealer deluxe.

What a group.

Why does anyone, including me, read this drivel?

you fucking love us, thats why. and are in denial.

furthermore to the thread...

step 1 at LAUSD : start to identify individual student's talent and ambition, 2. create means for students to achieve personal goals, as opposed to a conformed stereotype for everyone.
3. employ counsellors to track students individual progress for a future career focus and long term
goal setting.

happy children don't tend to commit crime. its generally malcontent. any number of sources, but primarily its unhappiness at home or school. bullying, sibling rivalry, parental unfairness, etc. all social problems. dealing with these problems takes multi departmental and authority cooperation. that's why a multi jurisdictional coordination committe is required. the all important committee that secures the funding and grants from the various sources, then provides that funding to the appropriate city departments to address the problems.

homeless

general pollution

port pollution

river pollution

ocean pollution

graffiti

LAUSD

gangs

even though, I think that under my LAUSD plan, those last three intertwined problems can all be mitigated

Yeah, I thought not.

Excellent point!

Not a lot of logic behind it, nor do you address my question, but if that was your best shot at a response then (pats you on the head) "Gooood job! You did great!"

Anyone willing to raise a million bucks and take the heat of her actions, must mean she's dedicated. And Galatzan has two school-aged kids. You and Matt Dowd now piping in with his own Venice-Beach talkie stuff on how to educate other people's kids, is really ridiculous.

I don't want to dignify it with too much analysis, but suffice it to say, that Matt's Rx for personalized attention to each child at his level of need, rather than standards testing etc. etc., is barely feasible at schools which charge 20K/yr., let alone a public school system struggling with basic financial issues and illiteracy.

If they start by writing proposals so they don't have to give all the money back to state, like this year, not wasting money on badly designed computer systems that have to be thrown out, not caving in to the UTLA all the time, not wasting money on more huge Belmonts (when small schools are safer and more effective anyway), and proceeding with their plan to improve test schools, graduation rates, and attendance -- that is a good start.

There IS too much standardized testing all across the country, with the "No Child Left Behind" stuff, and I don't think that it benefits most kids to cut the creative time they used to have in Kindergarten, in favor or forcing them to learn to read and do math.

In the "day," we did this stuff when we were more ready, starting at around 6. Taking away childhood has no lasting results into h. s.
This should be reserved for kids who are non-English speakers, or are tested to be "at risk." (Private schools are even worse: you don't get into Kindergarten until you can read, write, and use a computer .)

For most kids, learning to socialize with kids they'll be in school with for many years is a better use of Kinddergarten.

..."And Galatzan has two school-aged kids."

What grades are they in? When you say school aged, you mean pre-school aged? Or, "aged" as in "somewhere close to being the age of actually being an LAUSD student"?

You mean she has driven past LAUSD schools with her school aged kids in the backseat of the car right?

You don't mean to suggest she has ever actually HAD any experience with the school system as a parent, do you?

Maybe she DOES actually have kids who have already attended elementary school (private or public) and it just appears that she has zero experience.

But remember, I am wearing a hat and sunglasses as I type this so I have probably been wrong about everything I have ever said.

I think we should cut back the LAUSD board meetings to once a month. And to help jam everything in, don't let the board members ask questions about what they are voting on, unless you take a majority vote first, to approve the asking of the question. And cut back the amount of public input from the parents who you claim you want MORE input from, now that you have cut back on the number of opportunities well, by cutting back to one meeting a month.

Also, committee meetings slow down the process, as well, and allows a fair vetting that may prevent your pre-decided money-spending decision or slow it down.

I would have Connie Rice be the Controller's choice to sit on the citizen bond oversight committee.

I would raise the amount of money that is allowed to be spent without approval to $3 million because I think the district has proven it deserves that type of un-accountable responsibility, especially under the Villargarcia backed school board (remember their AB 1381, they wanted to put all the spending power over contracts in the hands of one person, the inspector general who the mayor thought he was going to get to pick, and thought he could fire when he got back from Asia, last year -- remember. (So I look forward to hopefully allowing them to spend $3 million unchecked at the same time Monica Garcia is having a remote "eject button" installed in the inspector general's chair. And trying to keep him out of the room as if he were Zuma Dogg.

I though we had term limits for the mayor...then how come riordan is still mayor???

and yeah...you say, "Anyone willing to raise a million bucks and take the heat of her actions, must mean she's dedicated."

I hope no one is paying you to spin that weak ass faulty, non-parrallel logic. I mean do you think there is a single person reading it that isn't laughing???

Why don't you just say that the mayor's approval ratings are higher than ever, he's gonna win re-election, become governor and his political career hasn't peaked and he isn't on the decline, Tamar Galatzen is a seasoned veteran, completely up to speed on the problems and solutions at LAUSD as a mother of school "aged" children, even though none of them have yet attended elementary school and all sorts of other fun things...

IT DOESN'T SICKEN ME THAT YOU GET PAID TO ARGUE ON SUCH WEAK POINTS...I'M SO GLAD NO-TALENT LOSERS KEEP FAILING UP...

Hey Jack, have you ever sold incense or Tee shirts to people on the beach without a business license or a place of business?

If not, then how could you know how to raise other people's children and educate them?

How could you know how to run the City of Los Angeles or the LAUSD?

ZD's absolutely right; go get yourself a pair of dark glasses, a ski hat, and don't bathe or shave for days at a time. Sleep in a van and beg for food, coffee and gas money.

Then, and only then, can you know everything and be a genuine starfucker for Deming, Robbins, or any other hype that comes along.

Do you get it yet?

I do agree with matt and zuma about letting kids follow their dreams and all that. But... confirmed stereotypes are not a bad thing. In the real world, 2+2=4, spelling and grammar matter. Failure to "confirm" is the first step to living out of a van.
How can a school age student have a life long goal, they haven't lived long enough or tried enough things in life to learn what their talents in life are.
Life is tough, bullies are a way of life. If you can't learn how to deal with them in school you will be a victim the rest of your life. Not many people grow up in a perfect environment, school can not level the playing field. It's all about self-responsibility, not the nanny state.

Better yet, use Zuma Dog as an example of someone that didn't/doesn't confirm to society norms, that should scare the crap out of the kids.

matt dowd solos like a demon , no matter how many chords. and trust me, its actually harder to make one chord sound interesting, as opposed to a rhythm which already has interesting multiple chord changes.

you sure you in the music business ? oh yeah. probably a 'producer'

I would love to hear Matt Dowd play Giant Steps. Show us how easy it easy with multiple chords. Oh yeah the E Blues scale doesn't work on giant steps. I certainly don't trust you that 1 chord is harder, if so, why do all beginners start with one chord?

And the phrase being in the music business means I get paid to perform, not I put music up on you tube and hope some drunk ignorant person likes my solos.

To quote Matt 7:49, hahahahahahahahahaha

nice! bro, I hope YOU are not religous, for your soul is certain to be going straight to hell for trying to spin THAT propoganda.

AND, just for that...you will be seeing an LAUSD thread, instead of a more innocuous "strategy" thread.

AND, I will be sure to throw in some ALL NEW MATERIAL...

and the mayor isn't going to be very happy with the content...whether I am wearing my sunglass, or not.

Thanks for the motivation you anonymous pussy.

MAtt, don't worry aboutwhat these posters are saying about your guitar playing. I respectfully disagree with you about harder to solo over a one-chord-monotoe-loop but that's not the point.

P.S. Don't let the poster goad you into playing Giant Steps, leave that to the trained professionals.

What an ass-hole. WOW! You're a big-shot.

You're afraid to post your creative art to share with others. WOW! Some artist. And now I know you are competley bluffing. Take any pro musician paid for their creative work that is in the rock and roll hall of fame, or the highest paid recording artists in the world.

What do they all have in common? They put out free videos for people to see on YouTube and MTV.

I don't know about giant steps. but the other thing is Hendrix can do things Clapton cannot. Vica versa. No artist is 100% whole in perfect you big dummy.

Creativity is not a zero sum gain.

I searched YouTube, didn't find any videos uploaded by eric clapton? Didn't find any Barbara Striesand videos uploaded by Babs. Can you? Oh wait, you said rock and roll didn't you. Let me search for Gene Simmons as an uploader. Again, no such luck. Maybe this is the difference between successful rappers and you, you give your work away for free. Who's going to buy the cow when you can get the milk for free.

Funny thing about MTV, I've gotten residual checks because of my work that's been broadcast on their channel. I would hate to think a dummy like me is better at business than rock and roll legends.
