L.A. Times Pro-Illegal Immigration Propaganda "Profile"

By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, MooreIsBetter.com

You may have already seen, or heard John and Ken talking about, a recent New York Times article on illegal immigration that included a photo of a toothless supporter of our nation's immigration laws, along with his flag, and photos of other people you won't see on "America's Next Top Model."

The purpose of the photos was to make you think that anyone who supports enforcement of the law must be some kind of "white trash," "trailer trash," or other hygeine-challenged, misguided soul who simply doesn't know any better. How could anything that "those people" support be reasonable, after all?

Not to be outdone, today the L.A. Times features a fairly long article on illegal immigration. Well, kind of. The article does not address any statistics on, say, the effects of illegal immigration on crime, the economy, schools, hospital emergency rooms, etc. Instead, we get a lengthy profile of a man who spends his nights at the border, in a 1970s truck with holes in the floorboards, who uses night-vision binoculars to look for border-crossers. And, to top it off, you're told and shows he carries a gun.

Therefore, you are supposed to conclude if you follow the "logic" of the propaganda, the only people who support enforcement of the nation's immigration laws are people like this man. How could you possibly agree with a person like that? What's next? A profile of someone on skid row who wears an aluminum-foil hat, perhaps?

The L.A. Times clearly has an agenda. I, for one, am nonetheless surprised at how low its editors have stooped -- and how little they think of their readers' intellect -- to publish a propaganda profile like this one.

Let me say this to the L.A. Times: Believe it or not, our nation's current immigration laws were enacted by Congress and signed into law by a President, and were not simply implemented through a vote by the studio audience of "Hee Haw." Furthermore, a few of the people who oppose repeal of those laws actually hold jobs, floss regularly, and have successfully completed the sixth grade or beyond. So stop insulting our intelligence. If you're going to engage in propaganda, go for something a least a tad more subtle, would you? Or at least more original than a slavish imitation of the New York Times? Crude caricatures are so "last week!"

Don't take it so personally, Walter.

They didn't say that ALL of your friends and like-minded allies are toothless, gun-toting mental defectives.

My question is this: If everyone is admitting that a Hillary Clinton's potential nomination to the Democrat Presidential ticket is only fuel for the religious right, then what do you think Senator Clinton's view is on that? Why is it that this either doesn't concern her, or she thinks she can overcome it?

If I were in the same position, I would realize that winning the nomination, only to further create a dichotomy between the American politic, would be disastrous for the country. So, why doesn't Senator Clinton? I can't get over that. Does she not know? And if she does, what's she telling herself to motivate her to continue? Is she really that good?

I think if she were elected, we would be dealing with the same Shakespearean themes we're dealing with now in the Bush administration. She might be looking to simply one up her husband's performance. I consider her nomination to be like pouring salt on a wound.

Lavery, Vizcaino, Trujillo and Lee to Lead Clinton's Team
5/23/2007 -- The Clinton campaign today announced several key additions to its senior staff in California. Joining State Director Ace Smith will be Political Director Chris Lavery, Communications Director Luis Vizcaino, Field Director Michael Trujillo and Deputy Field Director Connie Lee. All four bring extensive California experience to Hillary's campaign.

"We have a strong team in California that can carry our message of change throughout the state," Clinton said.

Communications Director Luis Vizcaino was most recently the Communications and Marketing Director for the Human Rights Campaign, and before that served as a Senior Communications Adviser to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa during his transition. In 2004, Vizcaino was Deputy Director of Media Affairs for the Kerry/Edwards campaign, serving as a spokesman and managing press operations in 20 states. From 2002 to 2004, Vizcaino served as Press Secretary to California Lt. Gov Cruz Bustamante.

Field Director Michael Trujillo most recently managed Tamar Galatzan's campaign for Los Angeles Unified School District Board, and before that was Political Director for Mayor Villaraigosa's Committee on Government Excellence and Accountability. Trujillo worked for Villaraigosa from 2001 to 2006, serving as Field Director for his City Council race and adviser for his mayoral race.

"We are excited about the depth of talent and experience we've assembled in California," Smith said. "This is a top-notch team that will help Senator Clinton carry the Golden State."

What do you think is worse when evaluating a City Attorney:

a) All the stuff regarding Rocky's wife's stuff, and Rocky having staff babysit.

b) Having a hooker on your staff to service your contractor clients?

Just wondering.

Worked as a policy analyst for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on education and budget issues. As a policy consultant, her policy areas include gender issues, youth civic engagement, and neighborhood councils in the City of Los Angeles.

* "Politics and Policy in the City of Los Angeles": Analysis of major policy and political issues facing the City of Los Angeles, from the perspective of an academic and policy analyst.

* "US Relations with Asia": Analysis of key factors that shape US relations with various countries in the Asia-Pacific region including China and Southeast Asian nations.

So is she on-deck over the new LAUSD changes that kick in Aug. 1st? Or to help the mayor with his "Asia kick". (His main goal is to make LA nicer for wealthy Asians who are sickened by the City they are trying to do business in. (See Deming if you really wanna accomodate to them...But you're too stubborn and ego/fear based to find out more. THAT'S OK...I LIKE HAVING A LEG UP ON THE MAYOR AND HIS PEOPLE ON THIS DEMING STUFF...)

I say LAUSD. What say you?

Liberation theology is what I think this philosophy is called, and it's been most used to replace dictators, e.g., the guy who took over Haiti from the Papa/Baby doc terror regime was a priest w/ that philosophy. It is Marxist and communists have killed more people than any other regime. But what about Roger Moore, toutingC uba as his healthcare model: apart from Castro murdering and destroying unknown numbers of people and the whole country, Cuban healthcare is free but really dismal. So stop making this a Mexican issue; this blog is racist, anti-semitic and that's not cool. As for your last comment re: hookers, ZD: be careful as there's no call for slander. The charges against the Delgadillos directly relate to Rock's job and have been investigated. I do feel sorry for the wife, but he should have checked out all this stuff: if he was going to use staff for anything, this should have been a legitimate use, related to duties.

Where? Does it say somewhere that Sojourners are a Mexican group or mission is to help Mexicans, any more than others? I better re-read.

ILLEGALS MARCH TOMORROW IN HOLLYWOOD. Yet LA Slimes will call again refuse to call them Illegals. Ted Hayes was arrested today cause the illegals took over Leimert Park where Ted and his minute men group had a permit. The illegals had kids blocking the entrance for them to get in. It got really heated so sadly Ted was arrested. People need to hear Congressman Becerra speak on the immigration issue. Finally a Latino politican who gets it. He says laws need to be ENFORCED. No other politican has the guts to say what we all know except Becerra. Kudos to him. Clowncil assholes will feel the wrath of this city if they continue treating those damn illegals like victims. They demand rights, demand free services and those morons support them. Why aren't any media reporting the cost of these damn marches???? They are lazy ass tabloid flunkies.
