ZUMA DOGG Would Like To Apologize to Los Angeles, Especially Van Nuys/The Valley on Behalf of LAzy City Council

ZUMA DOGG Would Like To Apologize to Los Angeles, Especially Van Nuys/The Valley on Behalf of LAzy City Council.

Although last Friday April 6, 2007 was not an official holiday, and City Hall was open for business --

YOUR Los Angeles City Council cancelled the once monthly meeting in Van Nuys to get a jump start on whatever they were getting a jump start on. So to those in the Valley, who were promised a City Council meeting once a month in Van Nuys City Hall -- Mayor Pro Tem ZUMA DOGG would like to officially apologize to you, on behalf of President Eric Garshady and LAzy City Council for another broken Valley promise. Now go spend some of their money on another Downtown pet project.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Walter Moore adds, "This is just a typical example of City Hall's disregard for the Valley.

Does anyone have any figures on: i) what portion of the City's revenues come from the Valley; and ii) what portion of the City's expenditures are made in the Valley? I'd love to know the breakdown.

My platform in 2005 included -- as it does now -- a pledge to spend at least two days a week in the Valley. Villaraigosa adopted that same plank later. As I recall, he announced it at a Valley Vote meeting. But now I don't think he even spends two days a week anywhere in L.A."

(You didn't read this in LAzy TIMES.]

Walter, I've probably still got those figures from the '02 secession battle.

As I recall, the numbers were very damning, but it is possible that the Valley's share has since improved as a direct result of the close vote.

Let me see if I can dig them up.
