McIntyre to Establish Charter School
Los Angeles morning radio personality Doug McIntyre has announced that he has formed a new charter school to be located in Woodland Hills.The school tentatively named Deig Skóli af Djass, will be housed in a former House of Pancakes store and offer a curriculum for kindergarten through 8th grade students based on Icelandic/Norse culture. Students will study the works of Snorri Sturluso and Sæmundr Sigfússon. Composition and grammer will be based on the Poetic Edda. Students will also study celestial navigation and "in order to compete in the global marketplace" the Hindi and Urdu languages.
McIntyre told reporters the purpose of the charter school will be "to validate and foster the indigenous identity of the students with Viking blood that runs through their veins."
